Tuesday 9/29/20 Free Plays / Trends / Betting Info / Etc
I'm venturing into the WNBA tonight with my free play, as the Connecticut Sun are catching points from the top-seeded Las Vegas Aces, and I like the underdog here.
The only time we've seen the Aces play like a top seed was when they were up against it, facing elimination in Game 4. They played well wire-to-wire. But overall, the Sun haven't shown any signs of intimidation, and have bullied the Aces with veterans who are determined to get to the WNBA Final.
Las Vegas has experience on its squad, but I don't know if it expected the physicality the Sun have exhibited. MVP A'ja Wilson and veteran Kayla McBride have both admitted that Connecticut has been much rougher than what the Aces have been used to.
This could be a tight affair the entire game, and without injured Sixth Woman of the Year Dearica Hamby coming off the bench for the Aces, they're going to have problems here. I know Las Vegas was able to adjust without her in Game 4, but now the Sun know the Aces adjustments.
Connecticut is going to come out swinging, and if the Aces prevail, it'll be with a late run and possibly on the last possession.
This one could very well come down to the last team holding the rock.
White Sox-Athletics goes at 3:00 pm eastern today and I am all set to add another winning day.
I think the runs are going to be hard to come by when Gerrit Cole and Shane Bieber take to the mound tonight at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
The Yankees lost 4 of their last 5 games to close the regular season and in those losses New York could only muster 5 runs. 3 of their last 4 games held Under the total and facing Bieber who totes in an 8-1 season mark with a 1.83 ERA could mean the Bronx Bombers will not live up to their name in this first game!
Bieber made 12 starts this season and the Under cashed the ticket in 10 of those 12 assignments, including 7 of his final 8.
Cole enters with a 7-3 mark in his first season with the Yankees and an ERA of 2.84. He was brought in specifically to excel at this time of the year and he will be looking to repeat his October from a season ago when he went 4-1 with a 1.72 ERA in helping Houston to the World Series. Cole did not face the Tribe this year, but is 2-1 with a 2.79 ERA in 4 career starts versus Cleveland.
The Indians finished the regular season with a 3-2-1 Under run for their last 6 games and I just don't see more than 5 combined runs in this opening game featuring a definite pair of aces going.
