Not sure who is going to win this football game, but whoever wins it will do so without scoring a ton of points.
Play this snore-fest between a pair of 0-3 teams to land Under the total at MetLife Stadium tonight when the Denver Broncos visit the New York Jets.
Denver will start their third quarterback of the season in four games, as tonight it will be Brett Rypien formerly of Boise State to give it a go for Vic Fangio's team. Drew Lock is still injured and Jeff Driskel was largely ineffective last weekend in the Broncos home loss to Tampa Bay, so Rypien has been tabbed to start this short-week contest against the Jets.
The Broncos are averaging just 15 points per game, but the Jets are averaging an even-lower 12.3 points per game, so you can see why I think playing this one to land Under 39 points or so is the way to go.
Denver is 11-8 Under the total since Fangio took Over in the Mile High City and that includes 2 of the first 3 games played this season. Meanwhile, New York has played 2 of their 3 games this season Over the total, but have held Low in 6 of their last 9 since last season.
This game has 17-14 written all over it.
Play Denver and the N.Y. Jets to hold Under the total tonight.
Thursday comp play is for this late-night Brewers-Dodgers game to stay Under the posted total with Brandon Woodruff and Clayton Kershaw doing the mound-work.
Last night the Dodgers took a 4-2 decision that landed Under the total and a similar final tonight would not be any surprise.
Milwaukee has now played Under the total in each of their last 3 games dating back to the regular season close and are 7-1 Under for their last 8 games played.
Los Angeles is on a 5-3-1 Under run their last 9 since the regular season and starter Clayton Kershaw owns a 2.16 season ERA as he trots to the hill tonight in his home stadium.
Woodruff's season ERA is 3.05 and better still, 10 of his 12 starts this year held Under the total.
