GUSHER - Faced tougher last time around the track at Ruidoso Downs. Based on class figures, this is a weaker bunch, so I will put this horse on my list of contenders.

DEVILS WORKSHOP - Doesn't appear to have enough positive aspects to warrant the price. W F RIP TIDE - Finished third last out. Would have to get better to be on the board in today's race.

My choice in this race is OUR NEIGHBOR BOYS. He has been racing quite well lately while recording sharp Equibase Speed Figures. Holthus has a very solid winning percentage with horses running in dirt sprint races. The handler wheels this one back in next to no time to race again. DONT ASK KINMON - Has strong speed figures and has to be considered for a bet for this event. COLONEL HUBERT - Bettors should take a good look at this one as this gelding has one of the best win percentages at this distance in this group of horses. Win percentage with this rider and conditioner combo - 34 percent - solid.

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach MLB Rotation #951 Tuesday Free Pick OVER the total in Los Angeles Dodgers vs Tampa Bay Rays @ 8:09 ET - Clayton Kershaw starts for the Dodgers but has a history of post-season struggles including (and particularly true) in the World Series. Tyler Glasnow starts for the Rays and he struggled in his most recent start against the Astros. He also struggled out of the bullpen when he faced Los Angeles in 2018 and compiled a 13.50 ERA. Though Glasnow should fare better here as he is a different pitcher now with Tampa Bay, the fact is that this LA lineup is quite potent. At the same time the scrappy Rays have been a much better team this season in terms of manufacturing runs. With this total dropping from an 8 to a 7.5 there is even more value with taking a shot here on the over. The over 7.5 is currently available at plus money in some books too. This game also has a decent chance of being decided by 1 run as you can see by the odds on the run line. What is the point? Well, if Rays win and hit their average of 5 runs you're likely looking at a 5-4 game or possibly 5-3 and either one of those results cashes this over which is set at 7.5 runs by the markets right now. If the Dodgers win and hit their average of 6 or 7 you hardly need anything from the Rays sticks to push this over the low total. That means substantial value here with the over because Kershaw (back issues) has not been 100% himself in recent starts so TB should do some damage at the plate. As you saw, these teams both had to leave everything on the field to get here. Both were taken to the brink, each having to play a Game 7. While its hard to go against Kershaw, I like the fact that the Rays have had one extra day of rest. Their bullpen has been outstanding and will now be fresh and ready to go. Also, Kershaw carries such a "big name," as do the Dodgers in general, that LA is a fairly heavy favorite on the money-line. In turn, that means we can get an extra +1.5 runs with the Rays for a very reasonable price. The Dodgers are indeed an excellent team. However, the Rays are here for a reason. I feel that tonight's opener may well be of the "very close" variety. Consider grabbing the extra +1.5 runs with Tampa on the run-line.
