Parx Racing - Race #1

#3 A Gray for Carolyn	MSW dropper has faced a pair of romping winners over off tracks of late, so this drop should wake her up, and the price figures square too; look out.
#1 Ajhar	The chalk drops in for a tag for the first time and has the best overall form, though he tried to get out late last time, which isn't a good sign; second-best.
#4 Mithra	Lightly raced runner beat the 1 when 2nd last time and hits hard, though that was in the slop, and his fast track form hasn't been as good; mixed signals.
Race Summary	The drop and getting away from two salty winners should both help the 3, and that 3-1 ML could be a bit higher by post too, so play him in all the slots, and especially to kick off the early Pk4 as well, since the betting public might not see past the 1 and 4, which means a win by the pick would knock out plenty of tickets right off the bat.

Parx Racing - Race #5

#5 Jamie's Wanderlust	Stalker was a good 3rd on debut last time after passing a few late, should only build off that encouraging run, and meets a tough to trust group; look out.
#1 Our Dixie Blue	The chalk beat the pick last time, though only by 1 3/4 lengths, and note she was 3-5 that day, which makes her tough to trust here; trying to beat on top.
#2 Adhwaa	MSW dropper needed her return at Mth, as it was off a six-month break, and this reduced level will help too, though that comeback was dreadful; tread lightly.
Race Summary	The upside on the 5 is more than the 1 and 2 have combined, and the price will be better too, so play her to win and place, and especially to kick off the middle Pk4 as well, since she tipped her hand last time, and the expected improvement would make her a real problem for both favorites.

Parx Racing - Race #9

#7 Dreamer's Moon	Versatile sort led, then dueled, then pulled clear late at Del last time, drew a nice outside attack post here, and will be a square price too; call right back.
#5 Wicked Awesome	Stalker has the best overall form here and has romped in two in a row, though he'll be overbet, and the pick has a race flow edge; still, looms plenty scary.
#2 Estilo Femenino	CD invader flew late to beat a good crew with a big figure, though regression could come here, and his lack of early speed isn't ideal; may run out of room.
Race Summary	The price will be right on the 7, and the race flow will be too, and they need to be, as he's a bit slow on figures, but those two coups may help him bridge the gap, so play him in all the slots, and especially in the late Pk4 as well, as he could fall through the wagering cracks, which means a win would add plenty of value to the sequence.

Mountaineer - Race #1

#3 Authoritarian	CD invader was in for a tag twice and didn't do a lot of running, but he rises in class here, which is a good sign, even though the reality of this is that this is a weaker crew.
#5 Prestonbird	ML favorite has some snappy works for a Stephen barn that is 8-4-2-2 on the meet, though 2-1 seems on the light side, so taking that price on top would be tough to take.
#7 Our Tatertot	Fellow firster goes for a Delong barn that is 21% on the year, and this one has a slew of solid works as well, but the barn is just 1-for-18 on debut, which clouds things.
Race Summary	Authoritarian likely won't be close to the 10-1 ML, but he should still be a decent price to bet played in his local bow, against a group of primarily first-time starters that could need one.

Mountaineer - Race #5

#7 Miami Magic	Class dropper also adds Lasix, so there's reason to think he'll fire his best today, and that speed he showed against better will play nicely here too.
#1 Iron Drill	Lifetime maiden in best on paper, which says a lot about the rest of this group, but at 0-for-22 you now what his M.O. is.
#4 Suvorov's Hero	MSW dropper hasn't run since May, so the layoff is a bit of a concern, as is the barn switch, but this is by far the easiest crew he's ever faced.
Race Summary	Miami Magic has run just four times, so he's got a ton of upside, which is more than most here can say, and the Lasix should help his speed last longer too, which only adds to his appeal.

Mountaineer - Race #8

#2 Lightning Jack	Well-drawn runner also stretches out, so he should be closer to the pace today, and he didn't run poorly in the slop last time, and his lone fast track run was a romp at FL.
#4 Kenya Road	The favorite seems better on dirt, so the surface switch should help, but he's no faster than anyone else in here and has no margin for error, yet will be vastly overbet.
#9 Brevet Officer	The wildcard has never run on dirt or at two turns, but he showed talent at PID and is bred for this trip, though this post sure didn't do him any favors.
Race Summary	Lightning Jack ran well here last time and has a few decent route races showing too, and with Kenya Road being overbet, you should get enough value to give this one a play.

Race Summary	Bajan Girl has taken on some tough fillies and comes off a strong victory in which he ran the opening quarter in :25 and finished the last six furlongs in 1:11 4-5. She can get it done under Prado, who was aboard last time.

Free play tonight to open MAC play is Akron plus the points at home against Western Michigan.

Yes Akron, you read that right.

Listen, after a 1-11 against the spread mark last season for the host Zips and 17 straight losses straight up heading into this season opener I am under no delusions that the Zips are going to spring the outright upset tonight, but getting this many points on the very first night of the season against a Western Michigan team that isn't what you would call a conference "powerhouse" is something I am interested in.

The Broncos are on a 1-7-1 spread slide their last 9 games on the road and an overall spread slide of just 6-12-1 when asked to cover any points. Western Michigan's offense is going to have the challenge this season of replacing 3 year starting QB Jon Wassink and LeVante Bellamy is also gone from the backfield. Not so sure there is enough offensive firepower to roll this Akron team on the road tonight.

The Zips may not have won straight up since back in the 2018 season, but Akron does have their starting quarterback Kato Nelson back along with Nelson's 4 top pass catching receivers.

If Akron can get something, anything going tonight - and you know they will be itching to get head coach Tom Arth his first win with the program - then perhaps the home team can at least keep this one closer than expected.

Grab the massive points as Akron hangs in their as the home underdog.
