The Bucs defense did a great job limiting the Saints offense in Week 1, but New Orleans was able to prevail thanks in large part to a Bucs offense that didn't seem to be on the same page yet. While that's no longer the case, I do think this will still be a close game and taking the points at this number makes plenty of sense. The Bucs blitz a ton, but Drew Brees is second only to Patrick Mahomes in passer rating when blitzed since 2019. With his weapons back, Brees should have success here and turn this into a shootout where they can cover even if their defense struggles.

While the Titans are excelling on offense, with great third-down and red-zone numbers to go along with a great DVOA, the Bears can match them on each front, ranking sixth in DVOA and first in both third-down and red-zone success rate. And the absence of Taylor Lewan should make a difference against a team with a good pass rush on the edge. On the other side of the ball, the Titans' defense is awful, especially on third down, where they have the worst success rate of any team through seven games in the last 30 years. The Bears offense isn't good, but it's good enough to have some success here and keep this one close, perhaps with a chance to win.

Baltimore's success on offense has been due to their elite run game, as Lamar Jackson hasn't been as effective passing the ball as last year. But the problem for Baltimore is that the Colts bring a great defense into this matchup, one that not only defends the pass well but also ranks second in yards per rush allowed and fifth in DVOA. I do worry about the Colts offense being able to have consistent success against an equally great Ravens defense, but with several players on the unit having to miss time this week due to COVID-19 protocols, there's at least a chance they are less locked in on Sunday. I liked the Colts at this number anyway, so consider that the cherry on top.

Teddy Bridgewater is 19-4 ATS as an underdog in his career and 17-3 on the road. Doubt him in this matchup at your own peril. The Chiefs thrashed the worst team in the league but haven't been firing on all cylinders lately aside from that, and their struggles defending the run line up well with a Carolina offense ready to welcome Christian McCaffrey back into the fold. The Panthers have lost by more than one score just once all year, and that was thanks to turning the ball over four times. Trust Teddy to protect the ball here and keep the Panthers close.

The Patriots offense has to run the ball to be effective, but that's the one thing the Jets do well, ranking 10th in both rush defense DVOA and yards per rush allowed. And while the Patriots defense has struggled this year, we can't expect Bill Belichick to have an issue figuring out how to stop an offense that ranks last in DVOA, points per drive, third-down success rate and red-zone success rate while scoring 10 points or less in five of their last six games. The Jets have scored 36 points in their last five games combined vs. the Pats, but it gets worse; New York has scored just one offensive TD in that stretch. Bang the Under here.

Both of these teams are much better on defense, where the Giants are just 18th in DVOA but Washington ranks No. 4. On the flip side, both these offenses are in the bottom five of DVOA and the bottom three of points scored per drive. Daniel Jones started hot against an elite Bucs defense but eventually settled into mediocrity before his last drive to almost tie it, and I think we'll see more mediocrity in this matchup. And while Washington scored 25 in its last game by running the ball down Dallas' throat, they'd scored 20 or less in five straight before that. The last meeting between these two paced Under the whole way despite a late fumble return TD. Expect the same here.

The Ravens offense hinges on its elite run game, as Baltimore's pass offense hasn't been good this year. But they're up against a Colts defense that's second in yards per rush allowed and fifth in DVOA against the run. With Darius Leonard back for the Colts, that defense is hard to score points against, so I don't see a big day for the Baltimore offense. But the Ravens defense is also one of the league's best units, while the Colts run the ball way too much for a team that's not good at it. With both defenses better than both offenses, it feels like we're getting a nice number to play Under here.

The Bills have not been as impressive as their 6-2 record suggests, particuarly lately. The defense posted a pair of good games against limited offenses over the last two weeks but still ranks 22nd in DVOA against the pass, and that's not going to get it done against Russell Wilson. The Seahawks also have a bad pass defense but Josh Allen has been incredibly inconsistent and has cooled off considerably from his run during the first four weeks. I think the Bills will have to catch some breaks to win this game, and I like laying less than 3 serving as some protection to a backdoor cover with this Seattle defense.

Throw out last week's Las Vegas/Cleveland game because of the weather. the Raiders scored 30-plus points in three of their first five games, and their defense allows an average of 29.0 points per game. The Chargers took major hits to their defense early in the year and have suffered, allowing 26.4 points per game 20th worst in the NFL. The Chargers offense is led by rookie Justin Herbert's big right arm, and the total has gone Over in L.A.'s last four games. Herbert's offense ranks 11th best in DVOA.

The Saints should have Michael Thomas back in the lineup on Sunday. He is the best wide receiver in the NFL, catching 86 percent of the passes thrown his way in 2019. Tampa Bay continues to improve each week however the Buccaneers have played only two teams that have an above average power rating. They lost to the Saints in Week 1 and manhandled the Packers in Week 6. With a limited number of fans, Tampa Bay has no home advantage. I have Tampa Bay just a 1 1/2-point favorite.

In the rematch, the defenses take even more control.

Houston's only win this season came against Jacksonville in Week 5 (30-14).

Also hot rookie quarterback Justin Herbert faces a Las Vegas defense that is allowing a passer rating of 95.9 this season (19th in the NFL). My model says the Chargers cover almost 60 percent of the time, so you're getting good value at this number. I love L.A.

New England has won eight straight meetings, the last five by double digits. This will be its first time facing the Jets with Cam Newton, who won both of his previous career contests against New York. Each of the 0-8 Jets' losses have been by at least eight points, and they are 1-7 against the spread. Expect the Patriots to end their four-game slide in this one.
