This is for Atlanta bragging rights. Coach Josh Pastner has been at Georgia Tech since 2016 and this might be his best team yet. The Jackets closed last season winning six of their final seven games and finished 11-9 in the ultra-deep ACC. Pastner brings back four starters from that club, led by the two leading scorers in guards Michael Devoe (All-ACC HM) and Jose Alvarado (All-ACC 3rd team). Georgia State, meanwhile, is a Sun Belt team that was 19-13 overall a year ago. The Panthers are looking to snap a 14-game losing streak to the Yellow Jackets and earn their first win ever over an ACC opponent. Tech has covered six straight at home and should win by double digits.

Game at a neutral site in San Diego. Pepperdine brings back two of the best players in the West Coast Conference in guard Colbey Ross, the NCAA's active career assists leader and 24 points shy of being the school's all-time leading scorer, and forward Kessler Edwards -- plus Sedrick Altman, who was on the All-WCC Freshman Team last year. The Waves also return two players who were forced to medical redshirt in 2019-20. UC Irvine was the Big West regular-season champ last year but is the second-youngest team in the country this season with 13 underclassmen. Pepperdine beat UC Irvine 4 by a year ago and should win by at least that much again.

My number is St Johns -16. The Red Storm did a decent job switching schemes in Mike Anderson’s first season going 17-15 in the up-tempo offense. Now with 4 returning starters a GW transfers and two Juco All-Americans they will improve again. St Peters wants to play slow and they will struggle at this pace. The Peacocks did win their conference last season but return just two starters and after avg only 63 PPG on road last season I can’t see them keeping pace especially in the second half.
