As for Rhode Island Rams, they have played four games so far, going 2-2 SU and 3-1 ATS. They have not looked all that great on the defensive end though, giving up a 75.5 ppg.

Memphis, which returned much from last year, is loaded with offensive talent. Back home and angry from b2b losses, I expect a big game and for the Tigers to put up a big number. Remember, this is a team which averaged over 80 ppg last season. While the Red Wolves may in fact be improved from last season, they still won't be able to keep up. Not surprisingly, the Tigers are 55-0 SU over the years, when listed as a home favorite in the -18.5 to -24 range. They never slip up in these games. That includes a 2-0 ATS mark in that role the past couple of seasons. The last time that the Tigers were favored at home by more than 20 was last December. Laying 26.5 points on 12/28, they scored 97 and won by 42. Expect another blowout and consider laying the points.

The Missouri Tigers returned four starters this season and have 10 upperclassmen back. Their seasoning showed against Oral Roberts in their opener as senior guard Mark Smith had 18 points, senior guard Dru Smith had 16 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals, and junior guard Xavier Pinson had 17 points and four assists. They beat Oral Roberts 91-64 as 14-point favorites. And I like that they have a game under their belts now. The same cannot be said for Oregon as this will be the Ducks’ first game of the season. They lost a ton of talent from last season including PG Payton Pritchard. They have a ton of transfers they are trying to get to gel, and it won’t be easy in their first game of the season against this veteran Tigers squad. Give me Missouri.

This is a terrible spot for San Francisco. They just played 4 games in 5 days in the east coast in Connecticut. Now they have to travel back to the west coast to face a Nevada team that has been at home since last Friday. San Fran played games last Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and then again on Sunday so they will be playing their 5th game in 8 days here. The Dons were 2-2 on their east coast trip but this line is sitting lower than it should be in our opinion because one of their wins was vs Virginia. They beat the Cavs 61-60 using an 8-0 run in the final 2:00 minutes. They caught UVA on a poor shooting night as they hit only 3 of 12 from beyond the arc (25%). That was the difference in the game as San Francisco mad 13 three pointers. We feel both results were aberrations as SF is not a great 3-point shooting team hitting only 33% on the year. Tonight they face a Nevada team that is 3-0 on the season including a solid win @ Nebraska last Thursday. They backed that up with a 12-point win at home vs Pacific team that finished 2 games ahead of San Francisco in the WCC last season. Nevada was favored by 5.5 in their game with Pacific and now just 2 facing San Francisco who is in a much worse situational spot than Pacific was when they faced the Wolfpack on Sunday. HC Steve Alford has Nevada playing terrific defense this year as they’ve held their 3 opponents (North Dakota St, Nebraska, and Pacific) to 48, 66, and 58 points respectively. They limit their opponents to only 0.94 PPP and their eFG% defense ranks 5th nationally. We also don’t anticipate SF going wild from 3-point range as they did vs UVA as Nevada allows only 24% from deep. Tired legs vs a top notch defense usually doesn’t equal success. We like Nevada in this game.

The NCAAB Comp play is on Nevada at 9:00 eastern. Nevada is off to a fast start winning the first 3. Tonight they have San Francisco coming in at 2-2 and they bounced losing to Rhode Island last out after taking down Virginia as a 15 point dog by 1 point. The Dons, however have failed to cover 14 of 19 off a loss and 16 of 21 vs an opponent with a winning home record. Nevada has won 4 of 5 in the series and covered 14 of 19 off a win as well as 20 of 28 on Wednesdays. Look for Nevada to take this one. On Wednesday a rare 6* with a 22-1 angle Headlines NCAAB Hump day cad along with the Afternoon NFL Total and a 5* Champions league Top level play in Soccer. For the Comp play. The set-up: Two solid teams here who are both undefeated. Oregon State has looked dominant early, destroying Cal, before then hammering Northwest University 114-42. The competition has been weak, but the early numbers are off the charts in all respects for the Beavers, including holding the opposition to just 52.5 PPG (ranked 8th in the country.)
The pick: Washington State is 2-0 as well, but it's not nearly been as impressive. Overall the Cougars are averaging just 63.5 PPG, while allowing 60. Note as well that the Cougars are 0-4 ATS in their last four at home, while the Beavers are 7-2 ATS in their last nine conference road games after consecutive SU victories. I think Oregon State will wipe the floor with the Cougars. Consider the visiting side in this one.
