Analysis: Short and sweet


New England is one of the more obvious dead nut under teams i. the NFL. This season, they are 4-9 to the under and since last season, they are 11-19 to the under. It’s easy to envision the Patriots game plan. This is the worst passing offense in the entire NFL going against one of the better pass defenses in the NFL, and any path to success for the Patriots offense is reliant on them running the ball and not turning the ball over (and shortening this game).


Miami is potentially without the following offensive weapons.

Myles Gaskins- OUT

Salvon Ahmed- ?



To go along with a insane amount of injuries, the Miami offense has been amongst the worst in the NFL since Tua has taken over. Bill Belichick has an extensive history of shutting down rookie quarterbacks, with stud rookie Justin Herbert being his latest victim just two weeks ago.


Considering the Dolphins injuries, these could be the two least talented offenses in the NFL. It’s a low total, but I expect this number to drop even more if the Dolphins offense gets bad news injury report wise.

  Didn't my write up last week call betting the Colts a broken record? Houston is a mess. Losing players left and right the last 2 weeks. I think the last 3-4 times we have bet the Colts, it was painful and with doubt. This is the 1st time in a while that I feel no pain with a Colts Wager. That does make me paranoid, honestly. The Rivers" bashers have gone silent as he quietly has become the #1 QB at hitting his targets. He did much of his work this season with Hilton dinged up and not much of a help,….until recently. Colts really have the the cylinders firing again offensively. I don't think anyone wants to meet them in the Playoffs, as they play tough, and have excellent coaching and veteran players scattered everywhere. They will face the 4th worst Defense, which lost more players. Indy back up to #6 on offense by my ratings. Indy had a few games recently where they gave up a ton of points against GB and TN, even with those performances, they rate #4 overall defense. Houston, known for their offense in the past, is a shell of their former self, Who's left? They should pull Watson and preserve his health for that longterm contract he signed off season. The mediocre offense is only #20, and much of the season they were healthy enough on offense to be effective. I have no idea how this line sits at 7. I'm not going to get greedy on this one and see if it dips. Late season we all have to worry about playoff teams resting players and just happy to have wins. The yapping dog teams can find a way to just loosen up and do a bunch of crazy schemes and play calling, with nothing to lose. Indy is a revolving door of injuries and people coming back, but they have the key components to easily beat this dpread. We just have to hope they are interested in separation. Metrics put this line closer to 14, than 7.

  Ive been working this game so much this week, it dawned on me that I had no clue where the offense was going to come from. Have to take our chances here that points will be at a premium. Miami ranks #3 in my metric model and The Patriots are at #6 somehow. These teams have a plethora of week teams on their schedules, but nevertheless., Nobody associates either of these teams as high octane, as they both have had subpar offenses as of late. Both quarterbacks are asked to do more than their fair share to contribute.

8 Unit Play Take #367 San Francisco -3 over Dallas (1:00pm est):

The Dallas Cowboys have been one of the worst teams in the NFL since losing starting quarterback Dak Prescott to a season ending injury. The Cowboys have went just 2-6 straight-up in those 8 games with the average margin of defeat being by 19 points per game. One of their wins came against Minnesota in a game the Cowboys scored the game winning touchdown with just over 1:30 left in the contest while also converting a 4th down and 6 to keep the drive alive. Their other win was came last game against the hapless Cincinnati Bengals by a 30-7 score but don't be fooled by that result. The Bengals were missing their starting quarterback in that game plus they fumbled on EACH of their first 3 possessions of the game leading to 17 Cowboys points. The Dallas offense failed to even gain 300 yards in the contest.
The San Francisco 49ers have had a disappointing 5-8 season so far in 2020 following a Super Bowl appearance last year. Don't be fooled by their record this is still a decent team. The Niners have been decimated with injuries this year and to make matters worse they have had to face the hardest schedule in the NFL (per Football Outsiders). In fact if the season were to end today the 49ers would have played 9 of their 13 games against teams against teams in the post-season including each one of their last six games. When San Francisco has faced off against non-playoff teams like this do in this one here against Dallas, they are 3-1 overall this year with an average win margin being by 24 points in those contests. The Niners lost 23-15 last week to Washington but they were the better of the two teams in that game as Washington scored two defensive touchdowns and San Francisco put up more than 150 yards of offense then Washington in the game. Many of the 49ers players were upset after the ugly loss and I expect them to bring their best effort to this one.
