Early zip is always important in horse racing, but the lone speed horse is always dangerous. The addition of Lasix might make this animal wake up and run well in this race. YOURS TRULY - The Dec 11th race at Mahoning Valley Race Cour was at a class level of (57). Dropping down in class ranks considerably, so she should be in a good spot. Filly is a few starts into a return here. Should give a big performance today.

OUTAMINE - I believe Roussel is making a good move here. This gelding can only profit from the shorter trip. Gelding's last race was against tougher open company. He's in with easier 'state breds' today. SWINGING GALAXY - Last time around the track was at Fair Grounds in a race with a class rating of 72. Dropping a significant amount in class figure today puts him in a solid position in this event. LIONS HOT MESS - This horse could be tough this time, especially since Marquez rode in the last race and now should be better acquainted with this one. Wired the field on December 17th at Fair Grounds. Quite possible he can do it again in this race.

When I look at today's class figure, it would take an improved performance to score after that in this group. AMAZING AMERICAN - Don't think this less than sharp equine will do much running in today's race. That last speed figure was somewhat easily forgotten when compared with today's Equibase class figure. GEM OF CARLOS - 4/1 odds isn't enough for this entrant when examining the most recent efforts.

GUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - LIONS HOT MESS - After a layoff, has had a few races and today he enters a sprint race. Should be back in form, so I expect this thoroughbred to perform well right here.
