The Orlando Magic opened 4-0 SU & 4-0 ATS this season. They have since lost two straight games to Philadelphia and Oklahoma City. Now this is a good time to 'buy low' on them as only 5-point home favorites over the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight as they'll be motivated to get back in the win column.
It's also a great time to 'sell high' on the Cavaliers, who are off to a surprising 4-2 start this season. They are coming off an upset road win over the Atlanta Hawks. That followed up an upset home loss to the Knicks by 9 and a blowout road loss at Indiana by 20.
The Magic simply own the Cavaliers. They have gone 6-1 SU in the last seven meetings with the six wins coming by an average of 12.7 points per game. Five of the six wins have come by 6 points or more. Orlando is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings. Bet the Magic Monday.

The last three meetings in this series have seen a combined 267, 275, 263 points go on the board. While history may not always repeat it self it does have a way of mimicking past events. Both sides have some injury issues, but most key offensive components remain, making this an over wager for me.

The Hawks are 10-0 OVER L/10 at home off a loss in which they led after the third quarter. (which was the case last time out) with the average combined score clicking in at 228.8 ppg scored.

ATLANTA is 17-6 OVER versus poor pressure defensive teams - forcing 14 or less turnovers/game over the last 2 seasons with a combined average of 240.8 ppg scored.



NBA teams where the total is greater than or equal to 220 (ATLANTA) - in a game involving two good three point shooting teams (36.5% or more ), average ball handling team (14.5-16.5 TO's) against a poor pressure defensive team (14.5 or less TO's) are 55-25 OVER L/5 seasons for a 68% conversion rate for bettors.

The set-up: I think this is a fantastic situational play on the Raptors. We're only two weeks into the season, so overreaction to a team doing extremely well, or very poorly, in the early going could prove costly. The Raptors are not going to the be the powerhouse in the East they've been for so long, that much is clear, but I don't think that their current 1-4 record properly portrays where this team will finish at the end of the season. The Raptors have plenty of talent and experience still obviously.
The pick: Boston is probably going to finish with a better record than Toronto once it's all said and done, but it comes in off a tight 122-120 victory in Detroit just last night and I think it'll struggle with energy in the second game of the back-to-back scenario. Consider laying the points on the desperate Raptors on Monday.

ASA FREE PLAY ON Maryland +5 over Indiana, Monday at 8 PM ET - Maryland is coming off a home loss to Michigan which is nothing to be ashamed of as the Wolverines are now a perfect 9-0 with all but one of their wins coming by double digits. Prior to that the Terps upset Wisconsin on the road and nearly took out Purdue away from home losing by 3. Thus in their 2 Big 10 road games outperformed the spread by 19 points. They’ve already faced 3 of the top 5 teams in the conference which rates as one of the toughest schedules in the league thus far. Indiana has been underwhelming this season. They are 1-2 in conference play with their only win coming in OT at home vs Penn State. The Hoosiers struggle shooting the ball ranking 88th in eFG%, 134th in 3-point shooting percentage, and 232nd in FT percentage. They have failed to top 68 points in 4 of their last 6 games. We think they’ll have problems here vs an underrated Terp defense that will be ready to play after their worst effort of the season allowing Michigan to shoot 59%. Prior to that they held 2 very good offenses, Purdue & Wisconsin, to 46% and 44% shooting respectively. HC Turgeon we know has really focused on their defense since that loss to Michigan last week. Offensively the Terps rank 11th in efficiency and while IU’s defense has been very good, Maryland will do enough on that end of the court to take this one to the wire. The Terps were just a 3-point home dog vs Michigan, one of the top few teams in the Big 10, and now they are getting 5 from Indiana, a middle of the pack team. With very little home court advantage this year, the value is on Maryland. Take the points.
