Wednesday's College Basketball Plays

2-Unit Play. #664 Take Louisville (-5) over Virgina Tech (6:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 6)

Really good match-up of two 2-0 ACC teams atop the league. But Virginia Tech hasn't challenged itself once on the road. As I've said, just because there are no fans, it doesn't mean certain comforts don't exist at home compared to road conference games. Both teams have just once loss. Lousiville lost to ranked Wisconsin. Tech was blown out to a medicore Penn State. The Hokies have been an underdog just once this year, and in this one its the home favorite that gets it done.

2-Unit Play. #684 Take Wofford (-1) over UNC-Greensboro (7 p.m., Wednesday, January 6)

I feel Wofford is the better team at the moment entering this game. The home team has won each of the last four meeting between these two, three of which as the favorite. The Terriers are both tonight. Those trends hold up and Wofford holds serve at home over the Spartans.

2-Unit Play. Take Georgia/LSU 'Under' 159 (7 p.m., Wednesday, January 6)

LSU has been scoring a lot this year, but I don't see Georgia wanting to play into the 80s in Baton Rogue. The Bulldogs also haven't shown to be overly capable of that scoring pace. UGA has score more than 80 just once in the last five games, three of those totals stayed under the number. LSU, just the same, hasn't reached 80 points in either of its first two SEC games. Both teams are coming into this match-up off losses, Georgia its first of the year. I see this one a bit more of a controlled pace. It might be tight, but I see a 78-73 type of scoreline with this one staying 'under' the total

5-Unit Play. Take Oklahoma/Baylor 'Over' 150 (9 p.m., Wednesday, January 6)

The Sooners are going to play Baylor tough here. OU loves to run, and Baylor will be happy to oblige their pace. Prior to a less than stellar game at Iowa State last time out, albeit a win, the Bears were scoring 95 points per game, and not just against cupcakes. Baylor scored 86 on Washington, 83 on Illinois and 100 on Kansas State. The Bears are a dominant team in transition and can really produce points fast off turnovers. For OU, they have two great shooters in Brady Manek and Austin Reaves, as well as two others scoring double figures. Oklahoma is scoring 81.8 points per game. So while Baylor is a superior defensive team, I think the Bears will welcome and up-and-down game with OU, knowing when to reign it in with key stops in the second half to pull away. Considering Baylor wasn't on its A-game at ISU, I wouldn't be shocked to see them score 90 points at home tonight. OU is going to hang around, and even if they produce ten less points than their season average, say 70, this one goes over the number. 86-76 the finish in favor of the Bears. Play the 'over' in this Big 12 match-up.
