      Turf Paradise - Race #4 - Post: 1:51pm - Maiden Claiming - 5.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $9,500 Class Rating: 59

      Rating:

      #6 BEAUTIFUL BABE (ML=4/1)

BEAUTIFUL BABE - Faced tougher last time out at Golden Gate Fields. Based on Equibase class ratings, this is a weaker field, so I will put this horse on my list of contenders in this race.

      Vulnerable Contenders: #9 BLUE LIZZY (ML=3/1), #10 RIVER JUMPER (ML=7/2), #2 SWEET REGARDS (ML=5/1),

BLUE LIZZY - 3/1 odds isn't enough for this entrant when looking at the most recent efforts. RIVER JUMPER - Not easy to bet on any horse in a short distance affair at 7/2 when she hasn't shown any competitive efforts in sprints in the last couple of months. I have some doubts when a vulnerable equine has front wraps added in the last affair. SWEET REGARDS - Has been beaten as the favorite twice in a row. A repeat is probably in store. Don't believe this steed will do much running in today's event. That last speed fig was pedestrian when compared with today's Equibase class figure.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Bet on #6 BEAUTIFUL BABE to win if you can get at least 1/1 odds
      EXACTA WAGERS: 6 with 10

Race 9 - Maiden Claiming - 8.0f on the Dirt. Purse: $16000 Class Rating: 40

FOR ACCREDITED LA BRED MAIDENS, FILLIES THREE YEARS OLD. WEIGHT, 120 LBS. CLAIMING PRICE $12,500.

          RECOMMENDED CHOICES
          # 7 MY REBEL GIRL 7/2
          # 5 DEBS PRAYER 3/1
          # 4 SEEKING THE STARS 5/2
MY REBEL GIRL supports the bet in here. DEBS PRAYER - With Pedroza uptop her, this filly should be able to break out quickly for this event. Don't overlook this filly in your bets - very dangerous with Pedroza aboard. SEEKING THE STARS - The average Equibase class rating of 28 makes this one tough to beat. Last time out, this filly faced a much tougher bunch.

            Race 5 - Claiming - 6.5f on the Dirt. Purse: $22000 Class Rating: 79

FOR FOUR YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD WHICH HAVE NEVER WON TWO RACES. WEIGHT, 124 LBS. NON-WINNERS OF A RACE SINCE DECEMBER 6 ALLOWED 3 LBS. CLAIMING PRICE $16,000.

            RECOMMENDED CHOICES
            # 7 CHAMPERS 9/2
            # 8 EL FENOMENO 6/1
            # 1 FROST'S SONG 8/1
CHAMPERS has a very strong shot to take this race. Is difficult not to look at given the company run in recently. Has to be given a chance versus this field displaying decent figures lately and an average Equibase Speed Figure of 64 under similar conditions. Overall the Equibase Speed Figures of this equine look decent in this affair. EL FENOMENO - He looks very good in this spot and I expect will be on the lead or close at the midpoint. Could best this group based on the Equibase speed fig - 86 - of his last contest. FROST'S SONG - I like the jockey on this gelding - solid chance to win the competition.

              Turfway Park - Race #2 - Post: 6:46pm - Maiden Claiming - 8.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $10,000 Class Rating: 67

              Rating:

              #7 OAK ROOM (ML=4/1)
              #10 SCOTT POND (ML=5/1)

OAK ROOM - Hasn't run at today's distance recently but does have a rating recorded last time he tried this trip good enough to win. This horse picks up a lot of cash per race around the track. I believe he will add to that total in today's race. SCOTT POND - Rode this thoroughbred on December 18th and Corrales is right back in the irons in today's contest. The jock and conditioner combination have a beneficial ROI when they join forces. Trainer Oliver moves this horse down the class scale to face a weaker class today. Look for a sharp effort in this race. This thoroughbred coming off a good race in the last thirty days is a contender in my book.

              Vulnerable Contenders: #4 LEAVE IT TO KITTEN (ML=9/2), #14 I'M JUST FINE (ML=9/2), #2 BABESWILDWEEKEND (ML=5/1),

LEAVE IT TO KITTEN - This mount hasn't been close to the winner at the wire of late. This mount likes to be there at the wire, but doesn't usually win. Keep out of the top spot. I'M JUST FINE - This gelding registered a rating in his last clash which likely isn't good enough in today's event. BABESWILDWEEKEND - This gelding is always in the mix, but just doesn't finish first. Hard to wager on him on the front end. Mediocre speed rating in the last race at Mountaineer Park at 1 mile. Don't think this questionable contender will improve too much in today's race.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: #7 OAK ROOM is going to be the play if we are getting 7/5 or better

Wayne Root - NBA - Wed, Jan 06 at 7:35 PM
                                We are taking Miami Heat

                                Boston Celtics vs Miami Heat
                                Miami Heat -2.5 (-108) (BetAnySports)

For Boston, the level of difficulty will take a significantly leap on the road against last year’s Eastern Conference champions. The Celtics have done a tremendous job of staying consistent and winning games with a depleted roster, but the context of those victories is also important. Their last three wins came against teams with a combined 4-15 record. The Heat have a knack for smothering opposing offenses to the point of frustration. There will be plenty of frustrations for the Celtics’ two stars desperately attempting to carry an unbearable offensive load. With no answer for Miami’s three point shooting, Herro and Robinson will feast against the Celtics. Speaking of feasting, Wayne Root is 7-1 in his last week of college hoops and has his first Pinnacle play of the season tonight. Get it and good luck. See you at the cash window.
