For Thursday go with Maryland as the home dog against conference-rival Iowa.
Iowa is back on track after an overtime loss back on Christmas Day at Minnesota, as the Hawkeyes have won back-to-back conference tilts including a tight 2-point win at Rutgers 5 days ago.
Maryland has been backed into a corner with conference losses in 3 of their last 4 and it doesn't help that senior Darryl Morsell sat out the Terps latest loss at Indiana earlier this week.
The good news is Morsell is expected to be back tonight and I do like the idea of getting a few baskets at home with the crafty Mark Turgeon concocting a way to slow down Luka Garza and his mates tonight.
These conference rivals split the pair of meetings last season before COVID-19 shut the sport down for good in March and it is Maryland that has won 5 of the past 7 series meetings overall.
The Terps defense is allowing just 66.6 points per game, while the Hawkeyes come in allowing 74 points per game this year. That being the case, would much rather be on the defensive home dog in dire need of a win to keep things close all the way.
Iowa is likely too good to lose outright, but I can see another close road game being played for the Hawkeyes.
Take the points and the Terrapins.
