JAZZY EINSTEIN - Difficult to wager on any thoroughbred in a short distance race at 3/1 when she hasn't shown any successful endeavors in sprints in the last couple of months. Couldn't make up any ground at any point on November 8th. Hard to wager on in today's event at the expected odds. FRIENDSWITHBOURBON - In any affair of 5 1/2 furlongs, I like to wager on a contender that has been on the board in short distance events of late. Difficult to bet on at 4/1 odds after the last two outings. Don't think this less than sharp equine will make a winning move in today's event. With a quite good 75 speed rating last time out, will definitely be a factor in this outing. Araujo has been hot the last month, winning at a nifty 18 percent clip. LANESBOROUGH - Looks strong for the conditions of this race today, showing solid figs in dirt sprint races as of late. Could beat this group given the 70 Equibase Speed Figure garnered in her last outing. COOL MO - She has to be given a chance given the respectable speed figures. I have to consider SHOUG here. Extra focus caused by blinkers change (going on today) likely to result in a big race. Is a solid choice - given the 78 speed rating from her most recent race. Has performed soundly lately in sprint races, posting a nifty 77 avg speed rating. MAY I - Looks to have a solid class edge based on the recent company kept. Should be carefully examined here on the basis of the figs in the speed realm alone. ANONYMOUS SOURCE - There is a very good chance that this entry's late pace will improve with second time Lasix.

TORIN - No early speed in this event to help this sustainer's hopes. Will be hard for this entrant to beat this group off of that last speed figure. Unlikely to improve enough to run a figure close to today's class rating, so put him on the questionable contenders list. SCALE - Tough for this closer horse to get up today. Without a hot pace to stir things up, the lone pace is going to make it awfully hard to get the job done. Don't think this runner will make an impact in today's race. That last rating was mediocre when compared with today's class figure. CONTINUATION - This horse hasn't shown much in the last two affairs. Won't be easy for this horse to beat this bunch off of that last rating. Getting rid of talent like James Harden is a big deal, but it may turn out to be a blessing for this team, as he clearly wasn't in the right mindset to help this team. I like the additions of Victor Oladipo and Dante Exum to go with their core of John Wall, Eric Gordon, PJ Tucker, Christian Wood and DeMarcus Cousins.
The problem right now is they are depleted for this game against the Spurs. Wall is out with an illness, Danuel House is out with a back injury, Oladipo and Exum aren't ready to suit up and Gordon is questionable with a leg injury. If Gordon can't go they have no one to run the point and he's not the ideal solution at that spot.
The Spurs are just so well coached under Popovich and come in with a lot of confidence after winning 4 of 5 on the road. I got no choice here but to lay the points with San Antonio. Bet the Spurs -7!

The set-up: I had a play on the Canucks in their slight upset victory in Edmonton last night, but I like the home side to bounce back and avenge that setback in the second game of the back-to-back scenario. Last year these team's split four games, but this season they'll face each other ten times.
The pick: Vancouver managed to keep this Edmonton offense down last night, but I expect Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl to push the pace in this important revenge spot. I'll point out as well that the Oilers are 7-2 in their last nine home games after allowing five or more goals in a two-goals or greater loss in their previous outing. As Bob Barker used to say, "The Price Is Right" as well.

It's a good time to 'buy low' on the Washington Huskies tonight. They have lost six straight and failed to cover five straight coming in. As a result, they are now in their largest underdog role of the season as 14.5-point road dogs to USC. The only other time they were double-digit dogs was +11.5 against Baylor in their season opener.
It's also a good time to 'sell high' on the USC Trojans, who are 6-1 SU & 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall. That includes a sweep at both Arizona schools in their last two Pac-12 games. But now the Trojans are in a bad spot here.
They returned home and needed overtime to beat UC-Riverside 67-62 as 14-point favorites on Tuesday. Now they have just one day to get ready the Huskies, who come in on four days' rest. And the Trojans probably are overlooking Washington just as they were overlooking Riverside in their last game.
Washington is 4-2 SU & 4-2 ATS in its last six meetings with USC with the two losses coming by 6 and 5 points. This line has just gotten out of hand to the point where there is value in backing the Huskies in their largest underdog role of the year. Bet Washington Thursday.
