Premier League leader Manchester United will take on bottom club Sheffield United in an eagerly anticipated clash on Wednesday.

The Red Devils are unbeaten in 13 league games since losing 1-0 to Arsenal on Nov. 1. Manchester United has picked up 10 wins and three draws in that time, which has helped it soar to the top of the standings. It also secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Liverpool in the FA Cup on Sunday, so the players will be surging with confidence as they prepare to face the Blades.

Sheffield United has not lived up to its nickname this season, as it has been totally blunted in attack. It has scored just 10 goals in 19 league games while conceding 32. Sheff United is hopelessly adrift at the bottom of the table with just one win, two draws and 16 defeats so far this season.

Manchester United Attackers Shine

You therefore would expect an emphatic victory for Man United on Wednesday. However, Sheff United rarely loses by more than a goal. Only five teams have beaten the Blades by two or more goals this season, so Man United will have to be at its very best in order to win this game.

It just about scraped out a victory when the teams met at Brammall Lane on Dec. 17. David McGoldrick put Sheff United up 1-0 after five minutes, but goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial helped Man United take the lead at halftime. Rashford gave his team a two-goal advantage by scoring after the break, but a late strike by McGoldrick made it 3-2, and Man United had to dig deep to close out the win.

Sheff United is rarely involved in high-scoring games, as it defends doggedly and does not show too much ambition on attack. Yet it drew 3-3 with Man United at Brammal Lane last season and then lost 3-0 at Old Trafford. We therefore could be in for another entertaining clash on Wednesday.

Sheffield United Shows Signs of Improvement

Man United has kept just six clean sheets in 19 games so far this season, while Sheff United has kept only one. The big difference is that Man United has scored in 15 of its matches, while the Blades have tallied in nine.

However, Sheff United has looked more dangerous on attack in recent weeks. It beat Bristol Rovers 3-2 in the FA Cup, then picked up its first league win of the season by edging Newcastle 1-0 on Jan. 12. Sheff United then lost 3-1 to Tottenham and defeated Plymouth Argyle 2-1 in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Man United has looked a little shaky on defense lately, but it has an abundance of quality on attack. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could afford to leave Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Martial on the bench in Sunday's 3-2 FA Cup win against Liverpool, but they were introduced in the second half and Fernandes hit the winner.

He should start alongside Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, Martial and perhaps Edinson Cavani in this game, and Man United should have far too much firepower for Sheff United to handle.

Notre Dame took down Miami 73-59 on the road behind 19 points from senior Prentiss Hubb. Nate Laszewski and Juwan Durham added 16 points apiece for the Fighting Irish, who shot 10-for-18 from downtown and led by as many as 19 points on the night. ND is playing their best ball of the season right now and we'll back them on Wednesday night on their home court.

They already beat Wisky last month and outrebounded them in that game. Maryland has won their last 3 of 4 games and playing good ball and I like them at home a small dog.

Both teams are logging their third game in four nights here, so fatigue will definitely be a factor in the second half of this contest. The Hornets have been good defensively, which is important as it helps overshadow the fact that their offensive production has struggled. Indiana?s concern will be whether Sabonis can take the floor for this one after leaving with a knee injury on Monday night. He?s a major factor on both ends for the Pacers. Domantas Sabonis puts up 21.7 points plus 12.5 boards and 5.9 assists per contest Brogdon scored a career-high 36 points in the win Monday night and is flourishing without Victor Oladipo in the mix. Additionally, Caris LeVert is out after a MRI found a mass on his kidney: he underwent surgery to remove a renal cell carcinoma on January 26 and is out indefinitely. Indiana had dropped three of their previous four games before earning a win on Monday night against Toronto in their last game. The Pacers are 29th in rebounding with an average of 42.6 boards a night. I am backing the home team here with the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night.

Yes I fully understand the Lakers have not lost a road game this season and look like they should have no problems repeating as champions this year, but the Sixers are the best team in the NBA at home over the past two seasons. They are 40-5 the past two seasons at home and 9-1 this year. The one loss this year came without Embiid, Simmons, Tobias Harris and Shake Milton. Not to mention the Sixers have played this Lakers team very well as they crushed LA last year at the Wells Fargo Center by 17 points with AD and Lebron both playing and without Joel Embiid. Ben Simmons best games of his career come against his friend Lebron.
