The Rams are a perfect 7-0 straight-up at home this season where they are averaging 81.6 points per game on 51.2% shooting from the field and 44.3% from beyond the arc. The Key: The Michigan State Spartans have been off since January 8 due to a COVID pause. It's only fair to expect them to be rusty in their first game back in action here 3 weeks later. It's not like they were playing well anyway as they are 2-4 SU in Big Ten play with their only wins against Nebraska and Rutgers. That places the Scarlet Knights in revenge mode here as they host the Spartans this time around. Rutgers has been one of the best home teams in the country over hte past couple seasons. The Scarlet Knights are 15-7-2 ATS in their last 24 home games. Rutgers is 20-8-1 ATS in its last 29 games against a team with a winning record. The Spartans are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games overall. Take Rutgers.

Today's free pick is on SMU -3.5 at home against Memphis. These two teams played on Tuesday at Memphis. We backed the Tigers -2 in that matchup and cashed in a 76-72 win. Now we fire back with the Mustangs on their home floor as a small favorite. There wasn't a lot that separated the two teams in the meeting on Tuesday. Both teams shot right around 50% from the field, rebounding was almost identical (32-31) and 3-pointers made were 11-10 in favor of SMU. One thing that I think could flip here is free throw attempts. SMU only attempted 6 free throws to the Tigers 25. Both these teams on the season average right around 18 free throw attempts per game. Add in the home court edge and motivation for SMU off a loss and it's easy to see the value with the Mustangs in this one. Bet SMU -3.5!

The Detroit Pistons just beat the Philadelphia 76ers 119-104 at home in a revenge game on Monday. That's the same Philadelphia 76ers team that just upset the Lakers last night. I expect the Pistons to give the Lakers a run for their money tonight at home.
Both the Lakers and Pistons will be playing the 2nd of a back-to-back. But Blake Griffin sat out last night's game against Cleveland and will be fresh and ready to go tonight against the Lakers. It was a sandwich spot for the Pistons as well as they were coming off the 76ers win, and they had the Lakers on deck tonight. After a poor effort, look for them to put their best foot forward against the defending champs tonight.
The Lakers trailed basically the entire way against the 76ers last night. But they erased a double-digit deficit in the 4th quarter and actually took the lead in the final seconds, only to lose on a game-winner by Tobias Harris. The Lakers put a lot of effort into that comeback, and that makes this is a much tougher situation for them in this 2nd of a back-to-back than it does for the Pistons.
This will also be the 5th road game in 8 days for Los Angeles. The Lakers are 2-11 ATS in their last 13 road games after playing three consecutive road games coming in. The Pistons are 8-1 ATS vs. good shooting teams that make 46% or better this season. Detroit is 6-1 ATS in its last seven games as a home underdog. The Pistons are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a loss by more than 10 points. Detroit is 4-0 ATS in its last four home meetings with Los Angeles. Bet the Pistons Thursday.

Miami is 38-16-2 ATS in its last 56 games following a loss. Give me the Heat.

UAB (-8.5) is worth a look as a decently priced road favorite against Middle Tennessee in Thursday's C-USA action on the college hardwood. This is just a complete mismatch. The Blazers are sitting on top the C-USA standings at 5-1, while the Blue Raiders are dead last in league play at 1-5. UAB should be able to score at will here and figure to get plenty of extra looks with how good they are protecting the ball and how awful Middle Tennessee is with turning the ball over. The Blazers would have to play really bad here to not win by double-digits. Play UAB -8.5!

The total already is getting down to 5, but right now many books are showing 5 1/2 with heavy juice on the Under. It's hard to fathom how there could be more than five goals scored in this matchup. The Ducks are averaging a puny 1.8 goals a game. They are last in the NHL in scoring, shots on goal and power play goals. Every team except the Ducks have scored a power play goal. Anaheim is 0-for-16 when it has had a man advantage. Each of the Ducks' last six games have gone Under. Anaheim is facing a hot goalie, too. Arizona's Darcy Kuemper has allowed only four goals in his last three games stopping 82 shots during this span with two of these games coming against Las Vegas, a top-10 scoring team. Arizona is in a scoring slump. The Coyotes have been shut out in each of their last two games. They haven't scored more than two goals in four of their last five games. Arizona also is facing a hot goalie, John Gibson. He hasn't surrendered more than two goals during regulation in each of the last five games. Gibson's .948 save percentage and 1.67 goals against average rank No. 1 among goalies with at least five appearances. (Stephen Nover is looking to beat the NHL for the fifth straight season. He is 39-23-1 on his last 63 premium hockey plays and has three other NHL plays going today in addition to this free selection.)
