HOUSTON @ CHARLOTTE | 02/08 | 7:00 PM EST
CHARLOTTE +3.5
ANALYSIS: While the Hornets will be without Devonte Graham and are playing the second of a back-to-back, we still think they cover and in fact win outright because Houston will be without John Wall, Christian Wood and Eric Gordon due to rest/injury. The Rockets are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games as favorites. Charlotte has covered 10 of its past 14 as a home dog.

TAMPA BAY @ NASHVILLE | 02/08 | 8:00 PM EST
NASHVILLE +1.5
ANALYSIS: Wish I had a bit more guts to pick the Predators for the outright upset, which I think is very possible because Tampa Bay is starting backup netminder Curtis McElhinney. The 37-year-old will make his season debut, and he was just so-so last year for Tampa. The Bolts are 1-2 on the road and have lost seven of their past nine in Nashville. We'll play it safe and take the puckline at -175.

CAROLINA @ COLUMBUS | 02/08 | 7:00 PM EST
COLUMBUS +125
ANALYSIS: I'm a bit surprised that Columbus is a home dog here. Carolina has been good on the road and did win 6-5 in Columbus on Sunday, but both the Hurricanes' losses are away. I'm simply taking the Jackets because I have no faith in Carolina netminder Alex Nedeljkovic, who is 1-2-1 with a 3.05 GAA this season, and it will be only the seventh career NHL appearance for the long-time minor-leaguer. The 37th overall pick in the 2014 draft made his NHL debut in January 2017 also in Columbus. He's only on the active roster because Petr Mrazek is out injured. Even with Sunday's win, the Canes are 1-4 in their past five in Columbus.

Golden State played with considerable pace in its two games against Dallas last week. Look for pace and a good deal of 3-pointers from Golden State on Monday. Golden State is the small underdog after being a medium-sized underdog in Dallas. The Warriors are 7-0 OU (10.93 ppg) as an underdog after playing as a road underdog in the last game. Golden State lost that game despite 57 points from Steph Curry. The Warriors are 7-0 OU (13.57 ppg) as an underdog off a loss in which Curry was their high scorer.
