This game marks the dfirsttime that Maryland has been matched up against the same opponent on back-to-back nights since the 1949 season. Amazingly, Maryland won consecutive conference games for the first time this season defeating Minnesota Sunday and Nebraska last night.
Two contrasting styles of basketball will be on display with Nebraska playing fast and Maryland playing tortoise-like pace. The set-up: The Leafs blew a 5-1 lead to Ottawa and lost 6-5 last time out. It was a huge upset obviously, but I expect things to "return to normal" here and I look for Toronto to only win this revenge game, but to win by a sizeable margin. Ottawa is by far the worst defensive team in the league, giving up four 4.0 GPG.
The pick: Toronto lost a tight 2-1 game vs. the Habs previous to its meltdown against Ottawa, but I don't think it's time to hit the panic button yet if you're a Leafs fan. Losses like this will of course happen over the course of a long regular season, but here's a perfect spot to back the much better Leafs in this bounce-back position. Consider laying the 1.5 goals for the much better price.

We cashed in an easy winner on the Celtics last night, as they downed the Nuggets 112-99 as a mere 2-point home favorite. I really thought we were getting some great value with Boston in that matchup, due to the fact that the Celtics had lost 4 of 5 and were off two ugly losses as favorites to the Pistons and Wizards.
I see the same value here with Boston as a mere 3-point home favorite against a Hawks team that is playing some of its worse basketball of the season. Atlanta has lost 4 straight and 7 of 8 overall. Because they have a great starting PG in Trae Young, I don't think people realize just how much its hurting this team that both backup PGs, Rajon Rondo and Kris Dunn, are out with injuries. They are also down two other huge pieces in De'Andre Hunter and Bogdan Bogdanovic.
Not to mention this Hawks team does themselves no favors with the effort they give on the defensive side of the ball. Atlanta is giving up 122.4 ppg over their last 5 games. I think it makes it so much easier here on Boston playing on no rest against a team that doesn't defend.
Also, Hawks are not a team that tends to find themselves on the road when things aren't going well. Atlanta is a mere 8-19 ATS in their last 27 road games off a loss and are 4-14 ATS in their last 18 on the road when they come in having lost 5/6 of their last 7 games. Give me the Celtics -3!

I cashed in the Celtics last night as my top play on the premium side. And I'm back on them again today as a free pick for many of the same reasons. It's a good time to 'buy low' on the Celtics after a recent poor stretch that saw them lose four of their previous five games.
But the Celtics came back and beat the Nuggets 112-99 as 2-point favorites last night. And while they will be playing the 2nd of a back-to-back, only one player played more than 32 minutes last night and that was Jaylen Brown. So they should still be pretty fresh, especially with no travel involved.
Now the Celtics host a struggling Atlanta Hawks team that is 1-7 SU & 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall. That includes three straight double-digit losses to the Spurs, Pacers and Knicks. So it's not like they are losing due to a tough schedule.
Boston simply owns Atlanta, going 7-0 SU in the last seven meetings with all seven wins coming by 3 points or more. The Celtics have also won 10 of the last 11 meetings in this series. Boston is 7-2 ATS in its last nine games as a home favorite. The Celtics are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games when playing on zero rest. Bet the Celtics Wednesday.
