    Oskeim Sports

Event: (307541) Texas Southern at (307542) Alabama A&M
    Sport/League: CBB
    Date/Time: March 1, 2021 8PM EST
    Play: Alabama A&M +7.5 (-110)
My math model only favors Texas Southern by 6.75 points in this game and the Tigers are a money-burning 3-9-1 ATS in their last thirteen games following a win, 3-7-1 ATS in their last eleven games overall and 0-4 ATS in their previous four road affairs. In contrast, Alabama A&M is a profitable 7-2 ATS in its last nine games versus .501 or greater opposition and 6-2 ATS in its last eight home tilts. Alabama A&M is 8-2 UNDER in its past ten games behind a solid defense that is allowing just 53.7 points per game in 2020-21.
I expect another low-scoring affair tonight as the Tigers arrive with a subpar 48.66% effective FG%, which is ranked 252nd in the nation. The Bulldogs stifling defense is ranked 34th in the country in turnovers per game (15.7) and 50th in turnover percentage (1900.37). Grab the inflated number with Alabama A&M as Oskeim Sports' Free Pick Winner for Monday, March 1.

      Dave Cokin

Event: (843) Arizona at (844) Oregon
      Sport/League: CBB
      Date/Time: March 1, 2021 9PM EST
      Play: Arizona +5.0 (-110)
Finale for Arizona as the Wildcats are ineligible for the postseason including the PAC-12 tournament. I feel good about their approach for this game being very positive. Zona looking to avenge a last shot loss to Oregon earlier, and that was the sixth time straight the Ducks have beaten them. In addition to that narrow loss, three of the other Oregon wins in this stretch came in overtime. So I'll take my chances that Arizona isn't just making the trip to Eugene to end on a down note. The matchup is a virtual dead heat, very little to differentiate this pair. The whole key is the desire on the part of the Wildcats, and it at least sounds very positive. I'm good taking a pretty generous spread with Arizona.

My choice in this race is A HOT CANDIDATE. With Rodriguez controlling the reins on him, this gelding should be able to break out early for this race. Looks competitive for the conditions of this outing today, showing solid numbers in short races recently. SHU BOPPIN SAMANTHA - She has been travelling strongly recently while recording solid Equibase Speed Figures. The average Equibase class figure alone makes this entrant a definite contender.

              Turf Paradise - Race #2 - Post: 1:22pm - Claiming - 4.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $8,500 Class Rating: 64

              Rating:

              #6 PARTY WITH DADDY (ML=6/1)

PARTY WITH DADDY - Based on this gelding's recent efforts, he should benefit from this contest's shorter trip. Dropping in Equibase class figure points from his Feb 3rd race at Turf Paradise. Based on that element, I will give this animal the advantage.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 SALTIE FIRE (ML=6/5), #7 TOM FOOLERY (ML=7/2), #4 YEP YEP YEP (ML=8/1),

SALTIE FIRE - This gelding is always in the mix, but just doesn't win. Difficult to play him on the front end. TOM FOOLERY - Difficult to wager on this vulnerable equine today. Make him show you something in a sprint race before you play him in a race of 4 1/2 furlongs. YEP YEP YEP - Hard to put your money on the win end of any horse that finishes second and third as often as this entrant does.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: #6 PARTY WITH DADDY to win at post-time odds of 1/1 or better

Mahoning Valley Race Course - Race #1 - Post: 12:45pm - Allowance - 8.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $29,000 Class Rating: 39

                Rating:

                #5 I'M DA BOSS (ML=6/1)
                #7 EDGE (ML=3/1)
                #3 LUCKY DOUBLE D'S (ML=5/2)
                #2 MILWAUKEE CAT (ML=7/2)

I'M DA BOSS - Leon's agent must like anytime Fadlovich gives them a mount; winning percent together is terrific. This racer could be tough this time, especially since Leon rode last time around the track and now should be familiar with this one. Taking a drop in Equibase class figure points from her Feb 9th race at Mahoning Valley Race Cour. Based on that key piece of info, I will give this thoroughbred the edge. EDGE - The Jan 23rd race at Mahoning Valley Race Cour was at a class level of (50). Dropping down the ladder based on class considerably, so she should be in a good position. This horse has increased her speed ratings from a fig of 9 to 27 to 37 right in a row. LUCKY DOUBLE D'S - This filly is in first-rate physical condition right now. Finished third last race out and comes back soon. Smith drops her down to this class level. You don't need too much more handicapping data to think this one should be one of the top contenders at this level. I believe this animal isn't a natural sprinter. Routing is her best game and those last two sprints should have her set for a big run today. The 45 latest race speed figure looks strong on paper. MILWAUKEE CAT - This equine earns a lot of cash per start. Utmost in this event. Lower weight assigned of -6. In my opinion, a movement of five is important, so this filly falls into this category.

Vulnerable Contenders: #4 COWGIRL CHROME (ML=4/1),

COWGIRL CHROME - Didn't hit the board on Jan 23rd at Mahoning Valley Race Cour. Followed it up with another lackluster outing. Unlikely that the speed figure she registered on Feb 9th will be enough in this race.

FOR ACCREDITED LA BRED FILLIES AND MARES FOUR YEARS OLD AND UPWARD WHICH HAVE NEVER WON TWO RACES. WEIGHT, 123 LBS. CLAIMING PRICE $5,000.

                  RECOMMENDED CHOICES
                  # 11 GUILTY CONFESSION 7/2
                  # 7 I'M ALL MIXED UP 7/2
                  # 4 BIGJIM'S SILVERGAL 12/1
GUILTY CONFESSION looks very strong to best this field. Ran a sharp last race. Broberg has this filly running well and is a strong choice based on the competitive Equibase Speed Figs posted in sprint races lately. I can't pass on this filly given one of the most competitive rider and trainer combos on the grounds. I'M ALL MIXED UP - Could best this group based on the speed figure - 62 - of her last affair. This conditioner has done quite well recently with entries racing at this distance and surface. BIGJIM'S SILVERGAL - Bettors using horses with this jockey and trainer duo have done soundly lately.

Al Cimaglia: Pompano Park Pick 4 Analysis-$20,000 Guaranteed Pool

                    March 1, 2021 | By Al Cimaglia

There is a Monday night 10-race card ready to roll at Pompano Park with the 0.50 Pick 4 starting in Race 6. The sequence has a $20,000 guaranteed pool with a 12% takeout, and it will be my focus.

On Sunday night, Dave Miller led the drivers with three wins. Jake Huff was the top conditioner on the card with three pictures.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

                    Race 6

2-Johnny Chip (4-1)-Miller's choice over the 6/7 can stay in the hunt and get sucked around like last week. Only 2 for the last 22 and has just 1 win in 9 Pomp starts but comes off an improved effort and the upswing could continue.
3-Warr-N-Munn (4-1)-Was bet hard and then used hard to get the top in last and was empty down the lane. Will respect chances in a field without a standout.
5-Perkins (9/2)-Drops after being in too tough and the question is whether this is still not the right level for a picture. That case could be made. But Hennessey is in the bike tonight and if he gets the top and then walks, this 5-year-old can out sprint them home.

                    Race 7

3-Eastender (12-1)-Drops, and this 10-year-old can dial it up at this level. Plano could get a cozy trip right behind the odds-on favorite and take a big shot down the lane.
4-Manceiver (4/5)-Got the top, went to the half in 54.4 and was in control to the wire. Steps up and not sure it will be that easy tonight. But is Miller's choice over #1 and may have more to offer.

                    Race 8

4-American Arrow (8/5)-Drops to a spot to shine and finally draws well. There is also a positive driver change as Hennessey is back in the bike. That's the good news but is 0-8 this year, 0-9 at the Pomp and will probably be bet down.
7-Swinging Jenny (7-1)-This is a race that may yield a price and this is the level for Jenny to have a chance at a picture. Will need a good drive and that can be an issue but may leave as there is not much gate speed inside.
9-Charms Little Sis (9/2)-Beat the $10k claimer at the Meadows in December and held his own at that level here in January.
Now drops to a soft spot and could compete verus this crew with a decent trip if close to 100%.

                    Race 9

5-Unlikeanyother (7/2)-Makes 2nd start for the Mungillo barn and has a post edge over main foes. Looking for a return to previous form and an aggressive steer.
6-Southwind Amazon (5/2)-Eleven-year-old doesn't dial it on high as often these days but can take its 2nd picture this year with his best shot. Miller is back and he was at the controls for previous win this year in a snappy 149.3.
7-Prairie Panther (9/5)-Should be right there at the wire but not sure what to make of the last outing going off-stride down the lane. Hennessey sticks, tries Lasix for the 4th time and will respect chances to snag first win since 12-27.

                    0.50 Pick 4

                    2,3,5/3,4/4,7,9/5,6,7
                    Total Bet=$27

                      Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

                      Delta Downs - Race #10
                      Picks Notes
#4 Wicked Star He doesn't meet a whole lot in this debut run, and he'll race for capable connections. He won't have to be a star to grab a big piece of this.
#6 Lit a Shuck He showed some better pace before fading that September run, and he'll drop in with maiden claiming company for the first time here. Chance.
#7 Wicked Fitz He's the most likely winner, but he has already been short twice with this kind, and he's probably overbet again with these.
Race Summary Wicked Star is a fresh face who should offer a fair price, and the three horses drawn outside of him should take cash while all having questions to answer.

                      Delta Downs - Race #3
                      Picks Notes
#5 Emeraldwaters She didn't show anything in the debut when racing near the back throughout, but she gets in much easier this time around and may produce something better here.
#6 Camp Halo She has been landing underneath shares with cheap maidens in recent starts, and while she's the one to beat, I wouldn't want too short of a price to see if she can punch home with these.
#2 Ms Louisa Returns off the layoff with ten starts under her belt, but most of those came with better. That said, she has burned a lot of money along the way, and she's tough to trust here.
Race Summary Emeraldwaters might be able to move forward with her debut out of the way, and she'll meet a much softer field this time around while dropping in for $10k

                      Delta Downs - Race #5
                      Picks Notes
#5 Shangroyal He has some speed and a slight pressing gear, and he gets down in class for this one after outrunning big odds in a couple of starts with stakes company.
#3 Bertie's Galaxy He was second best behind the quick No Parole last time out, and while something similar would make him a real handful here, he may take a step back today.
#7 Verrazano First He draws well to prompt the splits from the outside, but he might be a bit better going just a touch longer than this short 5f trip.
Race Summary Shangroyal is in good form out of a couple of races with better, and he may offer a fair price with Bertie's Galaxy bringing a big company line with him from that good effort last out.

                        Mahoning Valley - Race #2
                        Picks Notes
#1 Small Town Hero Heads a tough owned-coupled-entry and has won three of his last five; jockey Leon has won 8 of his last 20.
#3 Lazarus Project Wore down a rival and drew clear for a sharp win here last out and is generally in the mix regardless of level.
#4 Savage Nation Held on for second last out at this level and has been a tough campaigner on the front end; threat to steal.
Race Summary Small Town Hero ran an even third last time but can improve at this distance and brings a 12-for-44 record into this one.

                        Mahoning Valley - Race #4
                        Picks Notes
#3 Strike Appeal Has enough speed to get to the lead, and once he does he can be very difficult to catch; can finish the job again.
#4 Van Damme Didn't fire in his latest but has enough quality distance performances to consider in this spot.
#5 Levanto Has quality starts in his last three and can stalk from just off the pace; would not be a surprise.
Race Summary Strike Appeal is a solid player on the front end and is a good bet to resist challenges here.

                        Mahoning Valley - Race #6
                        Picks Notes
#6 Arcelor Has been close in her last out and has the class to prevail at this level.
#1 Templement Is in top form and lost by a head last time out; will be around late for this one as well.
#7 C C My Sis Ran fourth vs. similar last time and just doesn't run many bad ones; had a four-race win streak until his last one.
Race Summary Arcelor has won eight races and has been competitive since arriving here in November; ran well at Monmouth last year and fits under these conditions.

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach EPL Monday Free Pick Everton +103 vs Southampton @ 3 ET - Southampton is truly dealing with an injury crisis here. Additionally, they enter this matching having lost 7 of their last 8 premier league fixtures. Also, on the road this campaign, Southampton has won just 3 of 12 matches and has a goal differential of -13 as travelers. Look for Everton to take advantage and get the victory on their home pitch. I know that they have struggled some as a host this season but that has increased their hunger level for this match at Goodison Park. I am well aware that Everton is off a huge victory over rival Liverpool at Anfield last weekend but they are so hungry for taking the full 3 points on their home pitch after recent struggles there. I just don't see them being denied as hosts and feel strongly that they will use the victory over Liverpool as a momentum boost. Everton still has sights set on a possible top four finish in the table in this campaign. Free Pick EVERTON +103
