I'm usually not a big fan of laying this kind of juice, but the Sabres are simply a no-brainer fade at this point. Buffalo has dropped 11 straight games, and while the Devils have had their own struggles of late, I fully expect them to control this game from start to finish.
The Sabres are abysmal on both ends of the rink and the Devils are at least able to lock down on defense at times. Three of their last four losses came by just one goal and two were decided past regulation time.
Devils are 6-2 in their last 8 games as a favorite. Fade the Sabres.

Utah has lost three of its last four games while failing to cover any of those four. The Jazz fell to Golden State 131-119 Sunday in a game in which the Jazz trailed most of the game. Tuesday NHL Free play. My selection is on the 'under' between Carolina and Detroit at 7:35 pm et on Tuesday.
We won with the 'under' in Sunday's game between these two teams and I won't hesitate to go back to the well with the same play in Tuesday's rematch. Just as I noted in Sunday's analysis, this is a tough trip for the Hurricanes to get up for. They've now won eight games in a row but it might take all of their mental fortitude not to overlook the lowly Red Wings on Tuesday. Note that the 'under' has gone 11-3 with an average total of just 4.8 when the Canes play on the road after a game that saw three or fewer total goals scored over the last two seasons. Carolina has allowed just 2.2 goals per game off a one-goal victory over a division opponent over the last two seasons. Detroit is averaging only 2.3 goals per game on home ice this season and doesn't figure to break out here. Largely due to the majority of their opponents having a tough time 'getting up' for games played here in Detroit, the Wings have managed to hold opponents to fewer than three goals per game on home ice this season. I'm simply anticipating another typically ho-hum, low-scoring game in the Motor City on Tuesday night. Take the under (8*).

I went against the Hawks in their last game against the Cavs and lost with Atlanta winning 100-82 as a 6.5-point favorite. That game showed me a lot with how locked in Cleveland is right now under interim head coach Nate McMillan.
It's enough for me to back Atlanta on the road as a 9.5-point favorite against the Rockets. Full disclosure, there's not many teams in the league right now I wouldn't lay single-digits with home/away against this Houston team in its current state.
The Rockets are going to play this game without John Wall, Christian Wood, Eric Gordon, PJ Tucker, David Nwaba and potentially a couple others. It's basically Victor Oladipo and a bunch of scrubs.
For a team that doesn't defend, they just don't have the guys on offense to keep games close. Houston has lost 16 straight games. Each of the last 9 have come by 11 or more points. They haven't shot better than 43% from the field in 9 straight and have allowed their opponents to shoot 48% or better in 11 of their last 12.
I just think with Atlanta playing here after an off day and no big game to lookahead to with OKC at home on deck, there's no reason for them to not show up for this game and take care of business. Keep in mind the Hawks are sitting 8th in the Eastern Conference at 19-20 and the 3 teams below them are all capable of passing them in the Bulls, Pacers and Raptors. Give me Atlanta -9.5!

These teams are playing for the third straight time. The Wild won the first two games by a combined score of 8-1. Naturally, they're pretty big favorites on the money-line. Its hard to "blow out" a team three times in a row though and with the Minnesota being favored on the ML, we're able to get an extra +1.5 goals with Arizona, for a relatively reasonable price. I actually expect the Coyotes to win this one "outright." That said, in what should be a close one, that extra +1.5 goals could well come in handy. Even off Sunday's loss, the Coyotes are still 7-3 (+5.1) after allowing four or more goals in their previous game. Going back further finds them at a profitable 29-22 (+12.2) in that situation, the past 2+ seasons. Expect their best effort to lead to AT LEAST a "puck-line" cover. Consider Arizona on the puck-line. (+1.5 goals)

It's a good time to 'sell high' on the New Orleans Pelicans tonight after two straight blowout wins over the Cleveland Cavaliers by 34 and the Los Angeles Clippers by 20. They shot 65.4% against the Clippers and that's not going to happen again here. It's also a letdown spot off such a big win over a contender in the West.
It's also a good time to 'buy low' on the Blazers, who are 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall and coming off an upset loss to Minnesota. That was a letdown spot for the Blazers as they had just beaten the Timberwolves the night before. Look for them to be refocused here with the Pelicans coming to town.
The Blazers are also expected to finally get CJ McCollum back in the lineup from a foot injury. That can only give them a boost as he averaged 26.7 points and 5.0 assists in 13 games prior to the injury. Portland is 11-7 SU at home this season, while New Orleans is just 5-12 SU on the road.
New Orleans is 0-10 ATS in its last 10 road games following a double-digit win as an underdog of 6 points or more. The Pelicans are 3-16 ATS in their last 19 games following an upset win by 15 points or more as a home underdog. Portland is 8-3 ATS in its last 11 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. Bet the Blazers Tuesday.

It feels like the 105-135 loss to the Timberwolves in the first game out of the break served as a wake-up call for the Pelicans. They came out the very next night and crushed the Cavs 116-82 and then carried over that strong play to a 135-115 win at home over the Clippers. I like New Orleans to stay hot and cover the short number here on the road against the Blazers, who have failed to cover 4 straight. Bet the Pelicans +2!

The New Orleans Pelicans routed the visiting Los Angeles Clippers 135-115 on Sunday night, a result that followed Friday's 116-82 home rout of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Zion scored 27 points vs LA, the 17th straight game in which he's had 20-plus points. Williamson's NBA career may be just 61 games old but he's owned the superstar label since his one season at Duke. FIVE other Pelicans scored 20-plus points in the win over the Clippers and it begs the question, how can this team be just 17-22?
Williamson is averaging 25.5 & 7.0 and is joined by the trio of former Lakers who came in the A.D. trade. SF Ingram (23.7-5.1-4.7) is a terrific player, Lonzo Ball (14.3-4.2-5.2) is HIGHLY underrated and few even know Hart's name, no less his averages of 9.1 PPG and 7.3 RPG. Bledsoe (11.8-3.4-3.9) was acquired from Milwaukee just prior to the start of the season plus THREE more Pelicans combine to average about 25 PPG. However, with all this talent, New Orleans opened 5-10 through Jan 23 and now almost two full months later, remains five games under .500. New Orleans is currently 1 1/2-games back of the No. 10 seed in the West, the last of four seeds (7-10) that will comprise the West's "Play-In" round.
The Blazers have been streaky, opening the season just 10-9 through Feb 1. However, Portland then won EIGHT of nine, before losing FOUR in a row to close February. Portland is 4-2 in March and enters this game 22-16 (5 1/2-games better than the Pelicans), giving them the West's No. 6 seed Portland has hung tough despite CJ McCollum (26.7-3.9-5.0) being out since Jan 16 (fractured left foot), while center Jusuf Nurkic (wrist) has played just 12 games (9.8 & 7.7) and PF Zach Collins (ankle) has yet to play a single game .Portland's Lillard (29.9-4.4-7.9) is a true superstar plus Trent (15.4) has really stepped up in McCollum's absence (there is talk CJ could be back soon). The ageless Anthony adds 13.9 PPG off the bench. plus PF Covington (8.4 & 5.8) and SF Jones (7.9 & 4.6) and were acquired in the offseason (both are excellent defenders) and while not spectacular, have been solid contributors.
With the Pelicans coming off their rout of the Clippers, I'll take the Blazers here. I would have made it a bigger play but the Blazers won in New Orleans 126-124 back on Feb 17, so I'll go a little 'lighter.'
