The set-up: I like the Flames to finally bounce-back here and get back on track after three straight losses. That includes a 3-1 loss to the Senators on Wednesday. Clearly if we looked only at current form and offensive and defensive numbers, then we'd instantly pull the trigger on the Jets in this one.
The pick: But I think this is indeed the correct spot to pull the trigger on the desperate home side, which I expect will risk life and limb getting into shooting and passing lanes as it tries to break out of its offensive slump. The Flames are 8-5 at home and only 7-11-2 on the road. Calgary is also 7-2 in its last nine after three or more straight losses. Consider the hungry home side on Friday night.
