NHL | Capitals vs Islanders
Play on: Islanders -125 at Draft Kings
Last night, I successfully played against the Jets, noting that they were in a tough spot, due to playing their first game back home from a long and successful road trip. Here's an excerpt from that writeup: "The Jets are playing their first game back home off a 7-game road trip. While the trip was successful and was closed out with a 5-1 win, the first game back home from a long trip can often be tough. Its a lot tougher when the best team in the division is motivated and waiting for them ... "
Its important to remember that not all "first game back" situations are equal though. Tonight, the Isles are playing their first home game since 3/20. In this case, however, they actually only played four road games (as opposed to seven) and, unlike the Jets, the Isles never had to leave their own time zone. Also, the trip was not entirely successful, as they lost the final two games. What I'm trying to say is that I don't expect them to struggle the way that Winnipeg did. Its worth mentioning that the Isles are a perfect 5-0 their last five home games, following a road trip of seven or more days. More? The Isles are also 9-1 their last 10, after allowing two goals or less, in their previous game. Consider New York.
