The Twins are back to playing an American League club which means Nelson Cruz, one of the most dangerous bats in baseball is back in the starting lineup. After surviving the Brewers starters the past three days, this Detroit staff will look like batting practice for one of the most talented teams in the league.
Shoemaker has always been good when he is healthy, so we get a rare taste before the inevitable downturn. Urena just didn't fit in the young Marlins rotation, and he gets a second chance in the motor city. But to be pencilled in as the fourth starter in Detroit, is like being a sixth starter on just about every other club.

Pompano Park Early Pick 4 Analysis-$20,000 Guaranteed Pool

The feature at Pompano Park rolls in Race 9, an Open Handicap with an $11,000 purse. The 0.50 Early Pick 4 starts in Race 6. The sequence has a $20,000 guaranteed pool with a 12% takeout, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 6

2-Beyond The View (2-1)-Chances for a win last time went up in smoke after working hard into a 54.4 opening half. This journey should be smoother and probably won't need to pace in 152 to win.
3-Maddelle (3-1)-Drops to a much better level and also gets needed post relief. Boyd can work an effective trip and be within striking range at the top of the lane.
4-Play To The Crowd (5-1)-First start off the claim and returns to the Kreiser barn where this mare had success in the past. Should be a player at this condition if returns to the same form as before the claim.

Race 7

6-Windemere Ryan (7/2)-Looking to beat #5 the 9/5 choice and not sure this guy will go off a low as 7/2. My take is there will be some value and this 4-year-old has faced better. Boyd will need to provide a sharp steer and looking for him to leave to get an up-close seat. If that happens the speed is there to beat this field.
8-Captain Malicious (5-1)-Wallis trainee is only 1-20 since last year but will swing for a price and leave the two morning line favorites off the ticket. Has the gate speed to get the pocket behind the chalk and look to roll by late.

Race 8

1-Intoview (7/2)-A winning record of 1-35 in 20-21 isn't inspiring but is worth using at this class if not all in on #6. This was the level of last win on 3-18 and that came from post 7.
2-Rocklindarock (4-1)-Did pace the 2nd half last week in 56.4 and should be in play at the top of the lane. The fractions could be lively with the morning line choice likely to blast out. Will need the right trip but should be a square price.
6-Cenaltafirecracker (7/5)-Winner of 4 of last 6 at this level and finished 2nd in the other two starts. If Hennessey gets the top without much strain it could be picture time again.

Race 9

2-Villiam (9/2)-Steps-up after a sharp win at 2/5 in 150.3. This won't be as easy and chances for a picture depend on how easily Hennessey can get on the engine with #6. There is a chance this 4-year-old could get a great trip and upset.
3-Lets Roll (5-1)-Similar to #2 as could get a cozy trip, and has the gate speed to get the pocket behind the chalk. Looks like a price worthy of a swing.
6-Rebellious (2-1)-Did miss a start and could be bet down off the morning line but it's difficult to ignore. Hennessey will probably leave to get the top but could win coming off cover. Short field shouldn't hurt chances.

#5 Lucky Andy He has been in pretty decent local form, and the barn brings a 9: 4-2-1 record here since the beginning of March. Price player might get the right kind of trip near the top.
#3 Greeley's Dealer They drop him right back down to the level of the claim after drilling better last out, and he's almost surely going to take a step back off that big run, but the question will be how big it is.
#4 Binding Dropper has run a couple of good ones with better in recent starts, and the drop doesn't feel panicky here, as he was a $5k claiming type late last year.
Race Summary Lucky Andy should offer a playable price while looking to repeat, and the barn has made the most of their opportunities here in recent weeks.

Delta Downs - Race #8
Picks Notes
#1 Saintsgotrobbed He finished midpack when in with better at Fair Grounds, and he might find this easier group more to his liking. Think the fact that Broberg doesn't drop him back in for a tag off the last one might be a good sign.
#6 Venn He has enough pace to find a good spot early on, but he has a pretty consistent habit of giving away ground in the final call. Vulnerable late?
#7 Commander Scott He's the one to beat after just missing in the same common race as the top choice, but the price is going to get much shorter this afternoon.
Race Summary Saintsgotrobbed has several lengths to turn on Commander Scott, but he probably has some upside in the second start for the Broberg barn while making his second route start.

Delta Downs - Race #10
Picks Notes
#10 Beautiful Ending Expected better from her when dropping in last time out, but I'm willing to give her another chance at what should be a more appealing price here.
#6 Birdcatmouse She has been no threat at 3/2 and 2/1 in her last two starts, but she's not far removed from some efforts that would make her tough here. Probably overbet.
#7 Tough Bama Belle She takes a big drop from $50,000 company, but she has not been competitive at any level so far, having finished double digits back in all five tries. Yes, she can wake up here, but not with my money at anything like the 3/1 ML price.
Race Summary Beautiful Ending is capable of something better than she showed last time out, and the price figures to rise after that dull effort when trying a similar level for the first time.

#5 Machos Vision Was third in a N3L claiming race to end 2020 but has been in and has performed well in good races; she was a stakes winner in 2019 and can flash back for a good effort here.

EPL Monday Free Pick Everton -118 vs Crystal Palace @ 1 ET - Everton is the much better team and much healthier team. They also get James Rodriguez back for this game and he is a top playmaker. Everton struggled just before the international break but the time off allows them to hit the reset button heading into this one. Crystal Palace is off a win versus West Bromwich but they were fortunate to get that victory as the stats show you. Also, on the season, Crystal Palace has a -16 goal differential while Everton is at a +3. We get solid line value with Everton in bounce back mode on their home pitching and getting Rodriguez back while Wilfried Zaha did not impress in his first game back for Crystal Palace and they were fortunate to get the win. Last game of the college basketball season tonight goes from Lucas Oil Stadium and I see this one being a highly-entertaining offensive affair that will land Over the total once the smoke clears.

Baylor's semifinal game against Houston just squeezed Over the total in the closing seconds, while Gonzaga's semifinal game against UCLA needed overtime to decided and landed Over the total by a whopping 35 12 points!

The Bears come in averaging 82.5 points per game, while the Bulldogs come in averaging 91.6 points per contest. There are shooters all over the court tonight and I expect them to heat up in a hurry.

Baylor has played their last pair of tourney games Over the total and have compiled a 14-3 Over mark for their last 17 games played on the year.

Gonzaga has split their last 4 tournament games in the Over/Under department, but are 8-4 Over the total for their last 12 games dating back to the regular season.

This one figures to keep those that like points quite engaged and happy.

Monday comp play in the NBA is Sacramento as the small road favorite over Minnesota.

The Kings were rolling last week, winners of 5 straight, but a loss in San Antonio to close out their back-to-back set with the Spurs has been followed with home losses to the depleted Los Angeles Lakers and a Saturday one-point heartbreaker to the Milwaukee Bucks!

I like Sacramento to get back to their winning ways tonight in the Twin Cities as they face a Timberwolves team that is just 2-7 straight up and 3-6 against the spread over their last 9 games.

These teams have not met yet this season, but the Kings have won and covered the most recent pair of series meetings against the Wolves and with playoff hopes still flickering for this Sacramento team if they can go on a winning streak, why not back them minus the basket this Monday night?

PRETTY IN PINK - Got to appreciate a good work horse. This filly's last prep was second fastest of the day for the distance. After a pair of sprints, she's routing today, which is probably what this filly wants to do. This filly is in good form. Finished first on March 17th. 52-56-70 are last three Equibase speed figures. Improving each time out is something she should do again in this race. Just view her recent speed rating, 70. That one fits well in this field.
