Zach Davies has been horrible for the Cubs to say the least so far. However it might be a great spot for him here today facing a Braves team who had one hit in two games yesterday. Cubs split the series with the Brewers 2-2 and are 4-2 their last 6 games.
Braves have been one of the most disappointing teams to say the least this season. There is zero reason fro them to be laying this much here with Morton going.

I will take my chances with the A's as a slim -115 road favorite against the Rays on Monday. Oakland had their 13-game winning streak snapped in Sunday's loss to the Orioles, but are primed to get right back in the win column. A's will have a significant edge on the mound with Sean Manaea going against Rich Hill.
Manaea comes in with a 3.04 ERA and 1.183 WHIP in 4 starts. Keep in mind that's with him allowing 5 runs in his first start against the Astros. In his 3 starts since, he's given up just 3 runs in 19 innings.
Hill has been really good for the last several years, but it feels like Father Time is catching up with the 41-year-old in 2021. Hill has a 8.82 ERA and 1.531 WHIP in 4 starts. He's allowed at least 4 runs in each of his last 3 outings. Either way, he's worth a fade given his lackluster from of late. Give me the A's -115!

The Braves host the Cubs in Game 1 in Atlanta Monday, and both these teams were shutout on Sunday. We might expect more offense here given the pitching matchup.
Zack Davies will toe the slab for the Cubs, and he hasn't missed many bats in his last three starts. He allowed 13 runs on 17 hits over a combined 9 2/3 innings in those games.
The Braves hand the ball to Charlie Morton, and the Cubs have hit a combined .345 against him in previous meetings.
The over is 18-6-2 in the Cubs last 26 games as a road underdog, and the over is 10-1-1 in the Braves last 12 games as a favorite.

The Tampa Bay Rays are 14-8 to the over on the season, but their last two games have gone under and I expect a low-scoring affair when they host the Oakland Athletics on Monday for the first game of a four-game series.
Oakland hands the ball to Sean Manaea (2-1, 3.04 ERA) for his fifth start of the year. Manaea owns a 2.70 ERA in three career starts against the Rays who hand the ball to veteran left-hander Rich Hill (1-0, 8.82 ERA) who admittedly has had a rough start to the season, allowing four runs in each of his four starts. His last start was the worst of the bunch, and I expect a reaction and a more focused Hill on the hill tonight.

Monday MLB Free play. My selection is on Atlanta over Chicago at 7:10 pm et on Monday.
The Braves got manhandled in a double-header against the D'Backs yesterday, collecting just one hit in consecutive seven-inning shutout losses. I do look for Atlanta to bounce back on Monday, however, as it opens a series against the Cubs. Zach Davies will take the ball for Chicago. He's pitching for this third team in as many seasons after the Padres cut him loose following just one season. Davies is off to a tough start this season. His walks are up and his strikeouts are down. Opposing hitters are batting a collective .318 against him and you can be sure the Braves potent lineup will be eager to tee off on him here following yesterday's off day. Charlie Morton will counter for Atlanta. He had a terrific spring but is off to an uneven start in the regular season. Keep in mind, Morton is just two years removed from finishing top-three in A.L. Cy Young Award voting with the Rays. There's reason for encouragement this year despite his up and down start. Note that he has recorded a 48.3% ground ball percentage and a 15.5% fly ball percentage. His strikeouts are up compared to last season while he's held opposing hitters to a collective .235 batting average. Look for Morton to serve as the stopper here as the Braves bounce back at home. Take Atlanta (8*).

Monday's Free NBA Pick is on the Denver Nuggets as a 3.5-point home favorite against the Memphis Grizzlies. This is just too good a price to pass up with the Nuggets at home. I know Memphis has been rollin, but this couldn't be a much worse spot for the Grizzlies. Memphis will be playing the 7th and final game of a road trip on no rest after a game at Portland last night. Playing at Denver on no rest is brutal and I think it will impact Memphis even more given how tired they have to be. They have been on the road for more than 10 days now. Bet the Nuggets -3.5!
