After playing 3 straight series Unders and Unders in 6 of their last 9 dating back to last year's postseason, Milwaukee came out on Monday night at home and posted a massive 132 points in their 34 point blowout win over Miami in a game that landed Over the total by 3 full baskets.

Miami scored just 98 points in the loss and Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo are being held well below their regular season averages as Butler is scoring just 13.5 points per game, while Adebayo is averaging just 12.5 points through the first 2 games!

If the Heat wish to avoid an early exit in this year's playoffs, Butler and Bam better start bringing some bam to the hardwood.

My feeling is with the very real possibility of going down 0-3 in this series staring them in the face, Miami at least shows some offense tonight in this first home game where they are expected to have close to 19,000 fans in the stands.

Milwaukee brings a 6-3 Over mark for their last 9 games into this contest, while Miami has landed Over the total in 12 of their last 15 games dating back to the regular season!

For the season the Bucks are 19-16-1 Over the total on the road, while the Heat enter at 20-16 Over the total for the season at home.

Miami knows 98 points is NOT going to win them this game tonight. Expect more offense from Miami tonight as Game Three lands Over the total.

                4* MILWAUKEE-MIAMI OVER

Two games in the books in this Denver-Portland series and two Overs also in the books in this series.

I am sure these teams are going to play an Under before this series is completed, but I don't see it being tonight with the Blazers back home on their own hardwood where I am sure they feel more comfortable shooting the basketball.

The Blazers were kept to just 109 points in their Game Two setback in the Mile High City, but with a 116 points per game average, have to expect Portland to get back to that number this Thursday night.

Portland is working on a 3 game Over run - all against Denver - and the Over has cashed the ticket in 9 of their last 14 games overall.

Denver is also working on a 3 game Over the total run - all against Portland - and the Nuggets have seen 6 of their last 8 games also land Over the total this year.

This series has seen the first pair land Over and 3 in a row overall when you count the final game of the regular season. The Over also happens to be 5-2 for the last 7 played between these division-rivals.

I will look for the Over to come through one more time tonight.

                  4* DENVER-PORTLAND OVER

Been a real struggle lately for the Baltimore Orioles who just suffered their 9th loss in a row on Wednesday afternoon at Target Field in a 3-2 setback to the Minnesota Twins.

During their current 9 game slide, the O's have seen 7 of the 9 losses come by 2 runs or more and I do not see it getting any better in this Thursday opener at the Chicago White Sox.

Chicago had a rough end to their recent road trip when they got swept in a 3 game set at Yankee Stadium, but the Pale Hose were able to bounce-back with home wins in 2 of their 3 games that they just completed against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals as Tony LaRussa's club enters this home series with a 16-8 mark on the South Side.

Bruce Zimmerman gets the nod for the sliding Orioles and the team is just 1-6 in games that he has started this season.

Dylan Cease will counter with a 2-1 mark that is backed by a solid 3.18 season ERA. Cease got a little scuffed up in his last start at the Yankees, I like him to bounce back tonight at home where he is 1-0 with an impressive 2.10 ERA for over 25 innings pitched.

White Sox take this one on the Run Line.

                    4* WHITE SOX -1 1/2 RUNS

My free winner is the Baltimore Orioles in Chicago, as they'll shock the White Sox in this American League clash on the South Side.

I'm counting Baltimore starter Bruce Zimmerman to reverse his last start, which saw him endure the shortest start of his career on Saturday, when he allowed five runs in three innings against the Washington Nationals.

The rookie southpaw is poised for a decent start, as he's completed five innings in just one of his past five starts. Thing is, I know he is better than what we've seen, and it would be against an unsuspecting White Sox lineup that will be overaggressive at the plate we're going to see his full potential.

The O's could get Dylan Cease, who has yet to face the Orioles in his career, and after facing the Yankees on Saturday might need a couple of times through the lineup - if he makes it that far - to find his groove.

Good spot for a live dog.

My complimentary winner for Thursday night is the Carolina Hurricanes and Nashville Predators to stay under the posted 5 1/2 goals.

If Nashville wants to stay alive in this series, it needs a huge goaltending effort from Jusse Saros, who has a 2.59 goals-against average during the playoffs, with a .928 save percentage. The Predators have actually done a pretty good job since the final stretch of the regular season in keeping pucks clear of the net, be it via clearances, blocked shots or saves.

Alex Nedeljkovic ranks ninth in the postseason with a 2.10 goals-against average, and has a .927 save percentage against the Preds.

The last three games have gone to extra periods - two in double-OT, and Game 5 in ovetime. One-goal, tight-knit affairs, and now the Preds are playing for their season with a chance to force the seventh game.

This comes down to the low-scoring game, and one of those first one to score wins the game.

Nashville saw 18 of 28 at home during the regular season stay low. Carolina is on a 5-2 under run after one day's rest and 10-4 under against winning teams. Further, the under is on an 8-3 run in this series.

                        Play it low.

                        2* UNDER Hurricanes-Predators
