Friday 6/4/21 Free Plays / Trends / Betting Info / Etc
Friday free play on the Clippers to extend their series to the full seven games in their meeting tonight in Dallas against the Mavericks.
The bottom line is this, the road team has not lost a game yet in this series, as the visitor is now a perfect 5-0 both straight up and against the spread in the 5 games played in this series.
If Luka Doncic is really hurt - you couldn't tell on Wednesday! - then I expect him to struggle in this quick turnaround from the Mavs Wednesday upset win at Staples Center.
Look for Los Angeles who happens to be the better team and the higher seed to at least force a 7th and final game this weekend at home.
My free play for Friday is the Over in the Clippers and Mavericks game, as the two have plenty of motivation for this Friday night matchup.
Los Angeles is looking to stay alive, and should have plenty of confidence considering it took Games 3 and 4 in Dallas. And while the Clippers are a team that trend under the posted number most times, they're going to have to answer to a hungry Dallas team that is looking to close things out so it can move on to the Utah Jazz.
The Mavericks, who have gone over in nine of their last 12 as an underdog, are averaging 106.8 points in this series. But if you throw out their one bad game, they're averaging 113.25 points per game. Fact is, an injured Luka will do that. But he is probable for tonight, as is Maxi Kleber.
Dallas' offensive weapons will be on full throttle for this one, and the Clippers will be forced to answer the bell with their offensive game if they want to send this series back to Los Angeles.
Look for these two play bucket for bucket in a shootout as the total soars.
Friday freebie is the Nationals and Phillies to land Under the total in a game that will see Max Scherzer and Zack Wheeler keep the runs off the scoreboard.
The Nats have played their last pair of games and 8 of their last 10 games overall Under the posted price and Max Scherzer has seen 8 of his 11 starts overall this season land Under the total.
Philadelphia has followed a string of 3 Unders in a row with Overs played in each of their last 4 games, but I don't see that Over run continuing against Scherzer.
Mighty Max is 5-1 with a 2.63 ERA for his career in his 8 starts against the Phils, so doubtful to me the Phillies bats make a whole lot of noise in this one.
As for Wheeler, he is fresh off a career-high 14 strikeouts in his last start against a good-hitting Tampa Bay club.
The Nats are not what you would call a good hitting club.
My complimentary pick run continues to grow, as I've hit seven of my last nine freebies, including this same hockey matchup under on Wednesday.
I told you Game 2 had a 3-2 feel to it, and sure enough that was the final.
Tonight it'll be another goalie showdown between Colorado's Philipp Grubauer and Vegas' Marc-Andre Fleury - two Vezina Trophy candidates - as they'll once again be between the pipes for Game 3, this time in Vegas.
With plenty of rest and only one game of action since last Friday, Fleury at home in net is deadly. Add in a sense of urgency to get the team its first win in the series and avoid a 3-0 hole, will fuel not only Fleury, but those in front of him.
As for Grubauer, well Vegas' offensive big guns continue to be non-existent, most noticeably captain Mark Stone. Teams are doing good job of clearing the pucks and silencing Vegas' top two lines. And when you factor the potential absence of Alex Tuch, who didn't skate this morning, the third line is deep trouble without him.
I don't see a lot of scoring tonight, as much of Vegas' hopes fall on Fleury's shoulders. Nothing new for him.
After allowing Montreal to score 5 times in the series opener, expect the Winnipeg defense to be much better after shaking off 9 days in between their last playoff game and tonight.
I like the Canadiens and Jets to play this game Under the posted price.
Dating back to the regular season these teams have played 7 of their last 8 meetings Over the posted total.
With goalies as good as Carey Price and Connor Hellebuyck you have to believe the net-minding is going to be dominant in one of these games, don't you?

Play on: Red Sox +106 at linepros
Dave's Friday Free Play:
1* on Boston Red Sox +106 The Key: The Boston Red Sox are 33-23 this season and have the edge on the rubber over the Yankees tonight. Nathan Eovaldi has been Boston's best starter at 6-2 with a 3.86 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in 11 starts, and 3-0 with a 2.76 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in 3 road starts. Eovaldi sports a 3.02 ERA and 0.91 WHIP in 7 lifetime starts against the Yankees. Michael King will be making another spot start due to all the injuries in New York's rotation. He yielded 4 runs in 2 1/3 innings to the Tigers in his first and only start. And the Red Sox should get after him tonight. The Yankees are just 3-7 in their last 10 games overall. The Red Sox are 8-0 in after losing 3 of their last 4 games this year. Take Boston.
