ANALYSIS: AL Cy Young betting favorite Gerrit Cole (8-4, 2.91), a former Astro, has not been quite the same since the "sticky stuff" has been checked. Granted. However, you are not getting him again at even money -- frankly, the thought of that entering the season, barring a matchup with Jacob deGrom, was unthinkable. So while I think Cole is a tad overrated, I can't not take this. He's also on extra rest. I'll take my chances against an Astros lineup that suddenly has gone cold and is without Carlos Correa.

ANALYSIS: A couple of my colleagues nailed the Over in Game 1 of this series, and I'm just guessing this will be another shootout with a total of 11 -- we never used to see that number outside of Denver (now we do in Baltimore, too). Not a huge total guy, but we backed Boston on the ML in Game 1 vs. Philly and will do again here. Slight lean on Martin Perez over Matt Moore in a matchup of lefties but more home/away splits. Also, Boston is five games above .500 vs. southpaws, the Phils are five games under. Sometimes it is checkers, not chess.

ANALYSIS: Miami’s Trevor Rogers has been great at keeping the Under in play this season as he not allowed more than three runs in any of this 17 starts. Pitching at home, Rodgers should do a nice job of keeping this a low-scoring game. Miami got nothing going yesterday in a 5-0 loss. The Under is 8-0 since Sept. 24, 2020 when the Marlins are not -125 or greater favorites after they lost by at least five runs in the last game.
