I like the underrated James Kaprielian who is 4-3 with a 2.84 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 10 starts this season for the A's. Mike Foltynewicz is 2-8 with a 5.17 ERA in 17 starts for the Rangers. The A's are 12-2 when revenging a one-run loss this season. The Rangers are 18-40 against right-handed starters this season. Texas is 0-4 in its last four games following a win. Oakland is 32-15 in the last 47 meetings. Give me the A's.

Atlanta Braves (Fried) vs. Miami Marlins (Rogers)
Coming off a pair of wins, Atlanta has Max Fried on the mound. Fried had been gaining some consistency of late, but really stumbled in his last start, allowing 6 runs in 5 innings.
Facing him is Trevor Rogers, who has been consistent and good all season, and is better than his w/l record. He has handled the tough offensive lineups he has faced to date this season.
Miami’s bull pen was an eye-opener in their recent Dodgers series, performing very well. Braves pen is just OK.
My wager
I am looking for Rogers to out-duel Fried and the Miami pen to mop up effectively. Go with Miami to WIN

I'll gladly take my chances with the Marlins as a slim -110 home favorite against the Braves on Saturday. This is just too good a price to pass up with Miami in this one. The Marlins should have a pretty big edge on the mound, as they send out Trevor Rogers against Atlanta's Max Fried.
Rogers has been one of the NL's best starters in the first half of the season. He's got a 2.31 ERA and 1.058 WHIP in 17 starts. Fried on the other hand is just 5-5 with a 4.79 ERA and 1.345 WHIP in 13 starts. Fried has also really struggled away from home, posting a 6.65 ERA and 1.652 WHIP in his 5 road starts. Fried also has a very poor 6.47 ERA and 1.661 WHIP in 9 career starts against the Marlins. Give me Miami -110!

The KC Royals lost 104 games in 2018, 103 in 2019 and then went 26-34 in 2020. The Royals came to Cleveland for a four-game series with the Indians heading into the All Star break and their recent woes have continued. KC lost 7-4 on Thursday and 2-1 last night, making it 14 losses in the team's last 17 games overall, not to mention 11 straight road losses. The Indians won the AL Central three straight years from 2016-18, before missing the postseason in 2019, despite winning 93 games. Cleveland was back in the postseason in 2020, due to an expanded playoff field caused by COVID-19. The Indians were just TWO games back of the White Sox in late June but they opened this series on a NINE-game losing streak, which left them 42-42 and EIGHT games back of Chicago. heading into the final weekend before the All Star break. The Royals have played the perfect foil so far, as after back-to-back wins, the Indians have won SEVEN of eight in 2021 over KC.
Taking the mound Saturday night will be Mike Minor (6-7, 5.36 ERA) for KC and Cal Quantrill (0-2, 4.20 ERA) for Cleveland. Minor began his career back in 2010 with the Braves. After the 2017 season, Minor signed a three-year, $28 million deal with the Texas Rangers and went 12–8 with a 4.18 ERA. He got off to a great start in 2019, posting an MLB-leading 2.40 ERA in his first 17 starts. However, he finished the 2019 season going 14–10 with a 3.59 ERA Minor was just 0-5 with a 5.60 ERA in 2020 after seven stars (team was 2-5), when he was traded to Oakland. He signed a two-year, $18 million contract with the Royals prior to this season, with a $13 million club option for the 2023 season and a $1 million buyout. Anyone understand these deals? Minor has made 18 starts (record above), with KC going 8-10. Quantrill began his career with San Diego in 2019, going 6-8 with a 5.16 ERA in 23 appearances (18 starts). He made 10 appearances for the Padres last season (only ONE start), going 2-0 with a 2.60 ERA, but was traded to Cleveland towards the end of the season. He made eight appearances (two starts) for the Indians, going 0-0 with a 1.84. He began the current season in the bullpen but has recently been used as a start. He's got 25 appearances, seven of which are starts.
Here's the rub with both starters. KC opened the season 4-1 in his first five starts but since then the team is 4-9 in his last 13. Minor has allowed 18 ERs on 21 hits over 16 innings of his last three, for an ERA of 10.13 ERA. As for Quantril, Cleveland is just 2-5 in his seven starts this season, including losing the last four. In his last three starts, Quantril has lasted just 13 innings while allowing 13 ERs on 20 hits (9.00 ERA). Forget about the starters, who wants a KC team on an 11-game road losing streak, or one that has lost 14 of its last 17 overall?
