Mexico is a massive favorite in this matchup (they are -235 on the three-way line) but I think that Honduras can absolutely go toe-to-toe with El Tri here. Honduras lost 2-0 to Qatar on Tuesday thanks to a goal in the 94th minute. That extra late goal marked the first time in over two years that Honduras has lost a match by more than one goal. This team beat Costa Rica and played to 1-0 against the USA ‘A’ team last month in the Nations League. They also played Mexico to a 0-0 draw in a friendly just last month, as a tune-up for the Gold Cup. Mexico has struggled to find the net in this tournament. They struggled to put away El Salvador and were blanked by Trinidad and Tobago. I think they will find the net in this one but I see this game being a hotly contested one for the full 90 minutes.

It was pretty clear late yesterday that the Twins looked like the play with JA Happ on the mound and while he wasn’t the reason in the final outcome it was the superb play of the Twins bullpen. Tonight one of my favorite guys to back Jose Berrios will try and put on a show from contending suitors and we should see a fine performance. Look for Patrick Sandoval to revert to the back of his baseball card today and for us to get a low juice win with a mulch better pitcher. Jose Berrios has solid numbers this season and should give us 7 today.

POWER'S FREE TIGERS-ROYALS WINNER

1* Kansas City (7:10 ET): I backed the Royals last night in what ended up being a 5-3 victory. Detroit came into the game on a 7-game win streak, but all seven wins had come at home. I explicitly stated that you should remain wary of them on the road where their record is now a money-burning 19-30. Last I checked this game was still taking place at Kauffman Stadium ;) The Royals have now won three straight. They had a bit of an advantage going into yday's game in that they had Thursday off while the Tigers had no rest in between series. The advantage for tonight is that this is their fifth time seeing Detroit starter Casey Mize, whose innings are being limited. It was actually the first time facing Mize that they were the most successful, but KC should "know what's coming" Saturday. The cap being placed on Mize's workload brings the Tigers' lousy bullpen into focus. On the road, Tigers' relievers have posted a 6.40 ERA and 1.62 WHIP this season. They are not a strong offensive team either. Carlos Hernandez gets the nod for KC here in what will be just his second start of 2021. He should be "good enough" for the team to pick up its fourth win in a row. 1* Kansas City

After a stellar first half, Taijuan Walker threw in a rare clunker to begin the post-All Star break campaign. The 28-year-old Mets RHP lasted just 1/3 of an inning against the Pirates last Sunday. But to show how good he has been, even with that disastrous performance, Walker's ERA for the season is still under three runs. More importantly, when Walker starts -- the Mets almost always win and in fact they beat the Pirates in that last start and are 14-3 in all of Walker's outings this season. Walker will hit the reset button tonight and inter-league games are one of his specialties. In 14 starts vs. teams from the other League, Walker is 8-4 for his career with a 2.82 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 83 innings. The Mets are 23-10 in their last 33 home games, while the Blue Jays are only 1-7 in their last eight games in Queens and just 3-13 in their last 16 interleague road games vs. teams with winning records.
