This is just too good a price to pass up with St Louis. No way should the Cardinals be anywhere close to a 2-1 dog right now. St Louis is the hottest team in baseball. They have won 9 straight, including last night's 5-2 win as a +170 dog.
While it might appear the Brewers have a big edge on the mound with Brandon Woodruff facing off against Jake Woodford. I don't think it's as lopsided as the line would suggest. Woodruff has been slipping here some. He's got just a 4.00 ERA and 1.278 WHIP in his last 3 starts. Not to mention in Woodruff's only start vs St Louis since June, he gave up 6 runs in 5 innings of a 4-8 loss as a -185 favorite.
Woodford's numbers aren't going to excite you, but he has pitched effectively in his last two outings, both of which the Cardinals won. He gave up just 1 ER in 4 innings of a 2-1 win against the Dodgers and 2 ER in 4 innings of a 7-6 win at the Mets. Give me St Louis +196!
