MLB | Phillies vs Braves
Play on: Phillies +107 at linepros
Tuesday MLB Free play. My selection is on Philadelphia over Atlanta at 7:20 pm et on Tuesday.
I don't see any reason for the Braves to be favored in this game other than the fact that they're headed to the playoffs while the Phillies have been all but eliminated. Zack Wheeler takes the ball for Philadelphia. He's allowed a grand total of three earned runs over his last four starts, covering a span of 23 2/3 innings. The Phillies have won each of his last five trips to the hill. Meanwhile, the Braves have lost five of Charlie Morton's last six starts. Neither bullpen has been great this season but again, no real reason to believe the Braves have an edge in that department as their 'pen has posted a collective 1.48 WHIP with two converted saves and two blown over the last seven games. Note that the Phillies are 21-10 when coming off a loss by four runs or more this season, outscoring opponents by 1.9 runs on average. Meanwhile, Atlanta is just 5-12 when playing at home after winning five or six of its last seven games this season, outscored by an average margin of 2.2 runs in that spot. The Braves are also just 2-7 when playing at home after three or more straight victories, outscored by a whopping 3.0 runs on average in that situation. Take Philadelphia.
