      #3
      Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

Presque Isle Downs - Race #4
#6 Legio He has been a dicey proposition late in most races, but so have many of the rest lined up tonight. He has never raced at this kind of level and is meeting some suspect players who have had their share of chances.
#8 Hey Sach He should get a good trip while tracking the pace, but he has already had multiple chances with this kind locally, and he is almost surely going to get bet on the drop back out of special weight company. The one to beat.
#3 Lord Byron He's impossible to love with any confidence as he makes his 27th lifetime start, but he has done most of his good work while running out of this barn. He's probably not the right kind of price with these to swing on top, but he seems logical for a share.
Race Summary Legio cuts the tag in half while racing for $7,500 for the first time, and maybe she finds it a bit easier to keep up with this softer bunch early. Something like the 8/1 ML price would feel attractive.
Presque Isle Downs - Race #7
#4 Kasim He's protected off the claim for a dangerous barn, and he has a perfect style to settle in just behind the speedy pair drawn to his inside. The local footing is a question, but the form is there on a day when a good trip should be waiting.
#2 Forward Motion He's going to take some cash, but he has some sharp pace that probably makes him the one to catch into the turn. He is logical enough, but I wouldn't bite at any kind of short price with the 16:2-6-0 local record staring back.
#5 Notacatbutacard Briefly considered giving this guy the edge, but the top pair seem to have ceilings that are higher than what this guy can offer right now. Still, he ran really well the last time he turned back from a route, and he might be a finishing threat at a fair price.
Race Summary Kasim has faced some decent groups and might be able to bounce back for the new connections, and it's always good to see one protected for the new team after a few months away like this.
Presque Isle Downs - Race #8
#8 C The King Would be happy to take something like the 10/1 ML price on this guy, as he brings form that has been really sharp around two turns so far this meet while being clouded by some dull sprint tries. He has his work cut out for him, but he's worth a play at a mid-range number.
#5 Great Bend He might be the right one as he drops in class with the most successful resume over the last couple years while fitting this condition, and it'd be no surprise to see him wake up here with this much softer group.
#10 The Sinner Is You He rolled a shorter group at 6/5 last out, and something similar probably keeps him in the mix again. The worry is he'll be overbet for the top rider and could potentially get a tricky trip from this draw.
Race Summary Great Bend and The Sinner Is You look tough in here, but C The King is capable of producing a race that's competitive with that pair, and he's sure to offer a better number on the board. Tactical trip awaits.

        Frank Carulli's Daily Picks

        The Meadows - Race #3
#8 ELLASEN Changed tactics, powered away on final turn, hit the repeat button.
#1 ANURKA Could rally for major share with and enhance 19-28 in-money mark this year.
#7 AMELIAS COURAGE A Stalked the pace in-hand, went around dead cover, evenly in stretch.
Race Summary Ellasen made a quarter move to clear to the lead, accelerated on the final turn and pulled away from Something Reel -- who had won three straight-- in a :55.1 back half. Like 8-1 and 8-7 straight exactas.
        Northfield Park - Race #1
#7 FERDIEONTHEBEACH Improved in second Northfield go-round, must use in all gimmicks at big price.
#5 EYE MISS GARY Couldn't stay with 2-1 winner and odds-on runner up, can use speed well in here.
#6 BE DAZZLED Filly's three-peat attempt was foiled on class hike to this level.
Race Summary Taking a longshot stab on 20-1 Ferdieonthebeach, who rallied to finish a distant third behind the favorites in his second start locally. The race timed 2-1/5 seconds faster than Block Watch's victory on the same night. Play a 7-ALL exacta.
        Northfield Park - Race #4
#6 PILGRIM CAVIAR Meadows invader fits condition well, gets Wrenn, gets top call.
#3 YOU LOOK WONDERFUL Rallied for third in three straight, trainer takes over driving.
#2 PURE PETER Should be forwardly placed a long way, but not worth 2-1 with 1-22 mark this year.
Race Summary Pilgrim Caviar ran away from the 2-1 runner-up three starts ago, earned his top speed figure next out and was no threat against better in his latest start at The Meadows. He lures Wrenn to drive and is today's Best Bet on the class drop.

          Jerry Shottenkirk's Daily Picks

          Remington Park - Race #2
#5 Aunt Gem Uncle Mo filly was midpack in her debut and should benefit from stretching out and moving over to grass.
#2 Promptly Gone Lost by a head last time out in her first at Remington; moves to turf and can be a major player.
#1 Summer Cat Bred for the grass, has speed, and could be very tough on the front end.
Race Summary Aunt Gem can move up moving to two turns and should be able to handle the turf.
          Remington Park - Race #7
#2 Love My Boss Came on well for third last out at Canterbury, which isn't always the easiest place to make up ground; she gets more distance and can make a solid run vs. these.
#3 Dealin' Stelen Was fourth in his first over this strip and likely will welcome the distance; short on the tote board.
#9 G's Turn Was and even fourth against a decent group last out; would not be a surprise in this spot.
Race Summary Love My Boss has a decent kick on occasion and should get a decent pace to set up that closing move.
          Remington Park - Race #8
#3 Jackman's Ride Broke his maiden last out in his second start and looks good enough to be a big player under these allowance conditions.
#6 Red N Wild Has been in good races, has a lot of speed and can be on the front end going seven furlongs.
#7 Implicator Was fourth last time in his first since April and is a threat to move up for a piece of the exotics.
Race Summary Jackman's Ride has been sharp in both starts and should benefit from stretching out to seven furlongs; the one to beat.

TOTELLYOUTHETRUTH - Last out, this one was in a race at Thistledown in a race with a class number of 83. Dropping considerably in Equibase class figure this time puts him in a solid position in this event. Traditional angle - 3rd or 4th start after a vacation generally leads to a big effort. Going to run a nice one here. This gelding's last speed fig recorded on Sep 8th is uppermost in last race Equibase speed figures.

                Vulnerable Contenders: #8 REANIMATE (ML=3/1), #2 INTO THE OUT (ML=9/2), #4 GRAND STRATEGY (ML=5/1),

REANIMATE - Hard to recommend any equine with declining Equibase speed figures of 82/72/68. When examining today's class figure, he will have to record a better speed fig than last time out to vie in this dirt sprint. INTO THE OUT - The speed ratings are going downward. I'm not placing a wager on this pony off of that trend. GRAND STRATEGY - A strong thoroughbred that's been running well, but he's been off the track in the mornings recently.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: #3 TOTELLYOUTHETRUTH to win at post-time odds of 1/1 or better
                EXACTA WAGERS: 3 with [4,5]

Race 9 - Maiden Claiming - 5.5f on the Dirt. Purse: $19000 Class Rating: 59

FOR MAIDENS, THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD. THREE YEAR OLDS, 121 LBS.; OLDER, 124 LBS. CLAIMING PRICE $10,000.

                  RECOMMENDED CHOICES
                  # 2 OLYMPIQUE 4/1
                  # 8 HEATED BATTLE 5/1
                  # 4 PA ENCIMA 3/1
OLYMPIQUE is my choice. Dandy has this gelding racing well and is a respectable choice based on the decent Equibase Speed Figures posted in sprint races lately. Has to be carefully examined - I like the figs from the last race. HEATED BATTLE - Rivera has a win percent of 22 over the last 30 days. Must be given consideration in this race if only for the strong speed rating posted in the last race. PA ENCIMA - His chances to prove victorious are much better today facing this easier lot. He has earned respectable figures under today's conditions and ought to fare well versus this group of horses.

                    Charles Town - Race #6 - Post: 9:21pm - Claiming - 4.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $14,300 Class Rating: 79

                    Rating:

                    #2 UNION GRACE (ML=8/1)
                    #3 FLUENT IN SARCASM (ML=10/1)
                    #5 FRANK'S LEGACY (ML=5/2)
                    #8 SHACKLED (ML=3/1)

UNION GRACE - This jockey and handler's equines have been producing a beneficial ROI. If the front runners get weary, this horse will kick into high gear. This horse is probably the best stretch runner in the field. FLUENT IN SARCASM - Ran last race out against a better field at Charles Town. The move down in class ranks should suit him well. Could be an overlay in today's race at morning line odds of 10/1. Finished fourth in last race at Charles Town but was close at the finish. FRANK'S LEGACY - A repeat of that latest race on August 29th where he recorded a speed rating of 69 looks strong enough to win in this affair. Likes to go to the front and the fact that today is a shorter trip should be beneficial. This horse collects a lot of dough per race. Tops in this event. SHACKLED - Taking a big drop in Equibase class figure points from his August 31st race at Colonial Downs. Based on that element, I will give this one the advantage.

                    Vulnerable Contenders: #6 G DADDY (ML=9/5),

G DADDY - This morning-line favorite hasn't visited the track in awhile. No morning drills since last race.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: #2 UNION GRACE is going to be the play if we are getting 5/1 or better

                      # 2 WHITE GLADIATOR 15/1
HIGH ROLLING DUDE has a formidable shot to take this race. Shows evidence of the look of a profitable play, averaging a solid 81 Equibase Speed Figure which is one of the top in this group of horses in this race. Should be given consideration - I like the figs from the last contest. Has been racing in the most competitive company of the group recently. GRAN EDITION - With one of the best jocks in terms of dividends at the window, don't count this colt out. Has been running soundly lately and ought to be on or close to the front end early on. WHITE GLADIATOR - This gelding has a very good winning percentage in dirt route races.

Jack's Free Pick Wednesday: New York Yankees -109
The New York Yankees are on fire right now. They have gone 7-0 in their last seven games overall with Giancarlo Stanton as hot as he has been all season to lead the way. They are trying to earn a wild card spot in the American League and have saved their best baseball for last.
Now ace Gerrit Cole gets the ball tonight against the Toronto Blue Jays. Cole is 16-8 with a 3.08 ERA and 1.044 WHIP in 29 starts this season, including 10-4 with a 3.05 ERA and 1.007 WHIP in 15 road starts.
Cole owns the Blue Jays, going 5-1 with a 2.81 ERA and 0.958 WHIP in eight career starts against them. He'll be opposed by Jose Berrios, who is 2-2 with a 4.38 ERA and 1.581 WHIP in five career starts against the New York. Bet the Yankees Wednesday.

The Blue Jays are on life support after losing Game 1 to the Yankees, and now New York is in the driver's seat with their ace on the mound in Game 2.
Gerrit Cole (16-8, 3,08 ERA) has won more games on the road (10) than he has at home this season. He's 2-1 with a 2.74 ERA in four starts versus Toronto.
The Blue Jays hand the ball to Jose Berrios, who is coming off a loss at Minnesota his last time out.
Giancarlo Stanton has hit four home runs, batting in 13 runs in his last four games.
