Friday's Free NCAAF Pick is on the East Carolina Pirates as a 14-point home dog against the Cincinnati Bearcats. I was not surprised to see Cincinnati win and cover like they did last week against SMU. That was the game that everyone thought the Bearcats might lose and I just didn't think the Mustangs were anywhere close to as good as what people thought. This is the game that I think the Bearcats could be in trouble. Not only are they feeling really good about themselves after what they did against SMU, they are finally in the Top 4 of the playoffs and have a massive game on deck against Houston next week in the AAC title game. This ECU team is sneaky good and got the talent offensively to keep this close and maybe even win outright. Bet the Pirates +14!

My “Cutting Room Floor” plays are the situations I considered the closest to being worthy of investment but did not make the “final cut” for my official plays today for subscribers. The last play I cut for Friday afternoon was on South Florida plus the points versus Central Florida at 3:30 PM ET. South Florida (2-9) has lost four in a row after their 45-14 loss at Tulane as a 5.5-point underdog last Saturday. The Bulls have covered the point spread in 4 of their last 5 games after a loss by 20 or more points. South Florida has also covered the point spread in 7 of their last 8 games against teams with a winning record. Central Florida (7-4) has won four of their last five games with their 49-17 win against Connecticut as a 29.5-point last week. The Knights have failed to cover the point spread in 5 of their last 6 games after a win by 20 or more points. Central Florida has also failed to cover the point spread in 9 of their last 13 home games when favored. Take South Florida plus the points. Best of luck — Frank.

The Falcons are coming off a huge OT win over Nevada last week and that makes this a letdown spot. You can throw on this Air Force defense, which gave up 351 passing yards to Nevada last week. UNLV threw for 372 yards on a very good San Diego State defense last week and outgained the Aztecs by 104 yards. The Rebels are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 road games.
