The Rangers have taken several years, make that decades, to rebuild but some recent strong drafts have paid big dividends. The Broadway Blues are close to being on par with Florida, Carolina, Washington, and Tampa Bay in a very tough East. NYR now 16-4-3 and 8-1-1 at home and 8-3-2 on the road and winners of 9 of 10. The Blackhawks have been improved of late but are still a defensive sieve to such an extent that Marc-Andre Fleury hasn't even been able to bail them out in most cases. Better team, better form, tasty price that's worth a flyer.

This looks like the spot the New York Knicks get back on track after three straight losses to three of the best teams in the NBA in the Nets, Bulls and Nuggets. In fact, their last seven games have been against tough competition.
Now they take a step down in class here against the San Antonio Spurs. And the Knicks come in fresh and ready to go on two days' rest. It's a great time to 'buy low' on the Knicks and 'sell high' on the Spurs after going 5-0 ATS in their last five games.
I cashed in the Spurs +7.5 last night as a premium pick, but I'm fading them today due to the spot. They will be playing the 2nd of a back-to-back and their 3rd game in 4 days after a 104-108 loss to the Phoenix Suns on the road Monday.
New York is 30-11 ATS in its last 41 games when the line is +3 to -3. The Knicks are 8-0 ATS in their last eight games after losing five or six of their last seven games coming in. The Spurs are 0-11 ATS in their last 11 home games after winning three of their last four games coming in. Bet the Knicks Tuesday.

Very surprised here to see Oklahoma laying double digits. I had this ream in a winning effort beating down Florida but they are getting a lot of respect because of that. Butler has played several tough games including Michigan St and Houston. I also think this is a little sandwich spot here for the Sooners as they have Arkansas coming to town next in a big game. Butler keeps it close here.

This looks like a really unfavorable matchup for a Butler team that is 1-5 ATS on the season while averaging only 64.6 points per game. Oklahoma has held its opponents to 60.3 points per game overall this season, a number that drops to 52 ppg home at Lloyd Noble Center.
While Butler has held opponents to 58.4 ppg, that number skewed by matchups with weak opponents. The Bulldogs gave up 73 points to Michigan State on November 17 and 70 points at Houston on Nov 22. I fully expect the Sooners to put up 70+ while Butler will struggle to break 60 points.

The Oilers suffered a lopsided 5-1 defeat at the hands of the Kings here at home ice on Sunday but I look for them to bounce back and snap their two-game mini-slide with a win over the red hot Wild on Tuesday night. Minnesota has won six straight games with the last five coming on home ice. Note that the Wild are averaging 0.7 goals below their season average while outscoring opponents by just 0.1 goals on average on the road this season. Meanwhile, the Oilers are 9-2 on home ice, averaging 4.2 goals per game and outscoring the opposition by an average margin of 1.2 goals. Here, we'll note that the Oilers are 22-8 in their lat 30 games after allowing five goals or more, as is the case here, outscoring opponents by 1.1 goals on average in that spot. They're also 29-12 when coming off a loss by two goals or more over the last three seasons. The Wild on the other hand are 62-83 after scoring four goals or more in consecutive games, averaging just 2.5 goals in that situation. Take Edmonton.

This one would be equivalent to an 8* bet for me (8 out of 10). I loved how the Sharks played against the Blue Jackets last game, but the desperation of the long Columbus losing streak won out over the better overall game by San Jose. The Sharks generated 70% of the high danger scoring chances in that game and over 65% of the expected goals at 5 on 5. You just don't lose often with those numbers.
Now they come off a long road trip and play that dreaded first game back. Generally, teams coming off a loss in this spot win at a higher rate than teams coming off a win. Call it whatever you want, but it seems like it's determination vs relaxation that makes the difference.
To be more specific, teams on a 2 or 3 game losing streak, coming off a road trip of 3 to 6 games, win 60% of the time with a 10% ROI and a sample size of 575 bets. Another (less reliable) trend is that teams coming off a 1 goal loss in Vegas are 9-24 the following game (Calgary's spot). Just wanted to throw it out there.
Over their last 10 games at 5 on 5, the Sharks are the better team in expected goals, high danger chances, AND have scored 11% LESS goals than expected compared to 4.5% MORE goals than expected for Calgary. That means (generally) that SJ has been unlucky and the Flames have been slightly lucky relative to what "should" happen.
Last thing... the Flames played like garbage last game in Vegas. They might be better this game, but it was their third lackluster performance in a row, so I'm starting to think it's more of a trend than an exception to the usually dominating play of Calgary.
I'm going with the Sharks as decent sized home dogs. Good luck!
