The Penn State Nittany Lions opened 5-0 and were ranked in the Top 5. They have since gone just 2-5 in their last seven games overall with their only wins coming against Maryland and Rutgers. That includes a loss to Illinois at home. Now the Nittany Lions have some significant opt-outs as they will be missing three of their best players in WR Jahan Dotson, LB Brandon Smith and S Jaquan Brisker. The Arkansas Razorbacks definitely want to be playing in this game as it will be their first New Year's Day bowl game since 2008. It will be their first bowl game since 2016 as well after having last year's Texas Bowl canceled due to COVID. The Nittany Lions are 6-19-2 ATS in their last 27 games off a loss. Penn State is 1-5 ATS in its last six against SEC opponents. The Razorbacks are 16-7-1 ATS in their last 24 games overall. Give me Arkansas.

I think we are getting a great price here with Marquette as basically a pick'em at home against Creighton. Great buy low spot with the Golden Eagles, who have lost their last 3. There's nothing to be ashamed about the 3-game losing streak, as the losses have come against UCLA, Xavier and UConn, who are all ranked in the Top 30 right now at KenPom.
Even though the Blue Jays are a solid team, they aren't on the same level as those other three schools. Creighton is also a young team that I think could have a hard time in conference play away from home. Keep in mind the only true road game the Blue Jays have played is a game at Nebraska (not much travel from Omaha to Lincoln) way back on Nov. 16.
I just think that the line is a good 3-4 points lower than what it should be in this spot. Give me the Golden Eagles -1.5!

Crystal Palace managed a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture. However, the Hammers have long enjoyed success here. They're 4-2-1 their last seven visits here. Both teams played 19 league matches in the first half of the season. West Ham finished with 34 goals and 31 points. Crystal Palace finished with 27 goals and 23 points. That's about what was expected from WH but CP arguably exceeded expectations. I say they come back down to earth a bit in the second half and it starts here. Consider West Ham.

The Iowa Hawkeyes' already stagnant offense will be without their best player in RB Tyler Goodson. He rushed for 1,151 yards and six touchdowns, while also catching 31 balls for 247 yards and a score. Their offense held them back all season as they averaged fewer than 300 yards per game and only 4.5 yards per play. Take Goodson away and it's even worse.
I think the Kentucky Wildcats can win a defensive battle. They had one of their best offenses in recent memory at 33.3 points, 430 yards per game and 6.6 yards per play. They have great balance with 225 passing yards per game and 66.6% completions to go along with 205 rushing yards per game and 5.5 per carry.
Kentucky always has a stout defense, and that was the case again this year with 22.1 points per game and 337.1 yards per game allowed. Iowa does have a slightly better defense, but Kentucky's edge on offense more than makes up for it. The Wildcats outgained their opponents by 93 yards per game this season, while Iowa was actually outgained by 29 yards per game on the year despite its 10-3 record.
Clearly the Hawkeyes aren't as good as their 10-3 record would indicate. They benefited from an easy schedule and avoided all the best teams in the Big Ten East division. That was until they met Michigan in the Big Ten Championship, and we saw how that worked out for them in a 42-3 blowout loss. They also lost 27-7 to Wisconsin. Kentucky played Georgia tougher than anyone in the SEC outside Alabama in a 13-30 road loss.
The Wildcats have won three straight bowl games. Kentucky is 10-2 ATS in its last 12 non-conference games. The Wildcats are 21-7-1 ATS in their last 29 games vs. a team with a winning record. Plays against all teams where the line is +3 to -3 (Iowa) - after allowing 6.25 or or more yards per play in their previous game against an opponent that outgained its opponent by 125 yards or more in two consecutive games are 30-9 (70.6%) ATS over the last 10 seasons.
