Declan Schuster's Hong Kong Selections and Analysis for Wednesday, January 26, 2022

        HAPPY VALLEY SELECTIONS
        (Wednesday, January 26, 2022)

        Race 1: #2 Special M, #3 Stoltz, #7 Like That, #1 Namjong Sings
Race 2: #9 Gorgeous Inheritor, #3 Daily Beauty, #1 All You Know, #6 Happy Jai Jai
Race 3: #6 Sunny And Gold, #5 Oriental Amigo, #2 Mission Smart, #12 Raging Blaze
        Race 4: #10 Mister Arm, #9 Chater Pins, #4 V Chevaliers, #6 Courageous Knight
Race 5: #7 Bulletproof, #2 Dr Winning, #6 Toycoon, #3 More Than Enough
Race 6: #11 Mega Bonus, #3 Wind Speeder, #2 Triple Triple, #8 Regency Star
Race 7: #10 Star Of Wuyi, #3 Forte, #8 Pretty Queen Prawn, #4 Scotch Tycoon
Race 8: #10 Oscar Glory, #4 Invincible Missile, #11 Sky Forever, #1 Maldives
        Race 9: #12 H Z Tourbillion, #1 Astrologer, #2 Decisive Twelve, #5 A Smile Like Yours

        Race 1: Babington Handicap

#2 Special M is chasing back-to-back wins. He’s hit his straps nicely and his rise looks far from over. Race experience and winning form can carry him a long way here. #3 Stoltz has done little wrong. He pairs favourably with Zac Purton and is coming to hand in Hong Kong very, very quickly. #7 Like That slots in light. He draws favourably and on his day he has a sharp turn of foot. #1 Namjong Sings has claims. He’ll be finishing fast from the rear of the field.

Race 2: Pok Fu Lam Handicap

#9 Gorgeous Inheritor closed rapidly first-up this campaign to grab fourth. He has his fair share of talent and he looks ready to win now. #3 Daily Beauty is competitive in his spot. He’s down to a winnable mark now; the question is the wide gate – which makes things difficult here. #1 All You Know is also stepping away off a suitable rating. #6 Happy Jai Jai is chasing back-to-back wins. Joao Moreira sticks aboard and gate two gives him his chance once more.

        Race 3: Po Shan Handicap

#6 Sunny And Gold is unlucky not to already be a winner. He’s gone close a number of times and with even luck from gate two he shapes as the one to beat. #5 Oriental Amigo slots into a similar category. Strong booking of Vincent Ho here commands respect. #2 Mission Smart has shown flashes of ability at times. He’s got his fair share of ability but race-fitness might be against him first-up. #12 Raging Blaze should get a nice run from the middle draw. Don’t discount.

Race 4: Lyttelton Handicap (2nd Section)

#10 Mister Arm is a winner in the grade below. Still, he did well last start in this grade and it wouldn’t surprise to see him put his best foot forward here. Expect he gets every opportunity close to the speed under Vagner Borges. #9 Chater Pins will give them a head start. He’s racing well and a first win looks close. #4 V Chevaliers loves the course and distance. He’s a threat off this figure. #6 Courageous Knight is coming to hand. Gate two gives him his chance in a tough contest.

Race 5: Lyttelton Handicap (1st Section)

#7 Bulletproof narrowly missed last time out. Zac Purton hops up and once again he gets his chance. He’s the in-form horse of the field. #2 Dr Winning has come to hand of late. He’s a winner already in this grade and he pairs favourably with Joao Moreira. #6 Toycoon is still without a win. Don’t discount as his turf form – albeit not equal to his dirt form – is still good. It wouldn’t surprise to see #3 More Than Enough reverse his form. This course and distance is suitable.

        Race 6: Kotewall Handicap

#11 Mega Bonus is racing well. He got off the mark well two starts ago and if he can offset the tricky gate he remains the one to beat. He just needs a clean run close to the speed. #3 Wind Speeder is coming to hand. He did well in a muddled race last start. Expect further improvement here. #2 Triple Triple is capable here. He gets his chance and does appear fit enough. #8 Regency Star draws favourably. He’s a threat from gate two with Alexis Badel engaged.

        Race 7: Hatton Handicap

#10 Star Of Wuyi rattled home last time out but was slightly unlucky in the finish. He’s on an upward trajectory and with a clean run he can finish over them. The light weight is ideal. #3 Forte can improve again with one run under his belt. Strong booking of Zac Purton warrants respect. #8 Pretty Queen Prawn is coming to hand. Gate six and the engagement of Jerry Chau has him commanding some respect. #4 Scotch Tycoon roared home for an almighty win at 27/1 last start. He’ll contest again.

        Race 8: Conduit Handicap

#10 Oscar Glory was narrowly touched off in a tight finish last start behind Navas Two. This is the right form – especially with that horse winning again. He’s the one to beat. #4 Invincible Missile is after back-to-back wins. He’s holding his condition. #11 Sky Forever chased hard for a close-up second last time out. He’s improving each with each run. #1 Maldives draws favourably. Gate one is ideal for Zac Purton to get the best out of him.

        Race 9: Breezy Handicap

#12 H Z Tourbillon trialled very well. He showed ability early on and he should be favoured by a hot tempo here. He looks wound up to perform first-up with the light weight. #1 Astrologer is already a two-time winner from four starts. He has the talent but does have to contend with a hefty impost. #2 Decisive Twelve is better than his record lets on. Expect him to be in the thick of things here. #5 A Smile Like Yours is next best. He should get the right run from gate five.

Gulfstream Park Picks: Brain Trust consulted in R1 January 26
          By J.N. Campbell

Gulfstream Park Picks - Wednesday, January 26, 2022

          Race 1: 7-4-6-3
          Race 2: 3-2-5-1
          Race 3: 7-2-6-4
          Race 4: 6-3-2-7
          Race 5: 1-12-2-5
          Race 6: 7-5-6-8
          Race 7: 1-6-5-3
          Race 8: 5-4-8-1
          Race 9: 7-10-2-3
**Most Likely Winner: Arrow Shape #1 (Race 7)**
**Best Value: Brain Trust #7 (Race 1)**

Most Likely Winner: (Race 7: Arrow Shape #1, 3/1):

A “most likely” does not have to be the favorite in a race; rather, it is the horse that has the best chance to score. In this dirt sprint, I am pretty interested in making a big bet on Laura Cazares’ Arrow Shape #1. I think this filly by Adios Charlie looks best because she is getting off the Tapeta and back to a surface that should suit. Back in November she was up against some tough runners in a 6F dash … ending up 4th—13 back. I think this OC level is a perfect spot for her, and she has the tactical ability to handle a hot pace, which I believe this will be. Jockey Leo Reyes is in need of a win, and if he can keep from getting boxed in on the rail, he could guide his mount to a score.

          Wager: $100 Win, #7

Off-the-Pace Play of the Day: (Race 1: Brain Trust #7, 15/1):

An All-Weather event is where we find ourselves for this 1 mile and 70-yard contest. I am after a price horse this time around, and I think I found a nice one from David Fawkes’ midst. A filly by Hard Spun, this 3-yr-old has one race to her credit, and that may not look like much of an effort … I would not judge her too harshly because now she knows what is going on—some racing. You want an MC Co. runner to be lightly-raced, and looking at her conditioner’s numbers … he is solid with 1st time Lasix/2nd career race. The services of Jesus Rios should be good enough, and the price is going to be juicy in the double-digits. In for a tag of $16k, I would be looking to snag this one … claim ‘em.

          Wager: Graduated Wager, WPS, $100 Bankroll, #7 ($10-W, $15-P, $75-S)

          Spotlight Race of the Day: (Race 8: Turf, 1 1/16th, Clm35kn2L, F&M 4+):

With the GP Racing Office ship heading towards the massive Pegasus Weekend, you cannot expect to have a Wednesday card laden with “features.” Still, here is a turf race that looks promising, if it remains on the grass. I say “if,” because it appears that most of those races have come off the stuff, moving over to the unpopular Tapeta. Of the 8 drawn-in here, I am sure quite a bit of attention will be directed towards George Weaver’s Systematic #8. Not only is this filly by Outwork fairly classy, she gets Irad Ortiz. The celebrated rider has had a rocky time of late what with a NYRA suspension back in December, and then an injury. Todd Pletcher will be watching this week, in order to determine if the pilot is fit enough to be aboard his ace in the Pegasus WC, Life Is Good. I am not that interested in supporting Weaver’s entry because I am keener on Mike Maker’s uncoupled entry, Miss Delicious #1 and Mongolian Mission #4. Of these, the former is one of those classic Maker claims that could be very dangerous. His numbers are strong when it comes to “next out” races in this situation, and I would not want to go against Paco Lopez on the turf. If you look at this daughter of California Chrome’s NYRA back class, it looks pretty stern. The pedigree is not too shabby on the dam side with Speightstown in the bloodline. As for the latter, Maker had this one on the GP turf right before Christmas, and she just failed at a pretty square price—5/1, finished last out of 8. The good news is that means she will be even higher on the tote come Wednesday afternoon. With Javier Castellano in the irons, I like this daughter of the great Noble Mission (GB) quite a bit. One other to add to the mix that shows promise is the NYRA invader from Jeremiah Englehart’s barn. It is good to see this conditioner coming down to S. Florida to compete, and I would not count out Alpha Babe #5. The former runner of Rob Atras’ has some solid turf efforts under her, and who doesn’t like the versatility of Malibu Moon. I want to use all of these entries on a good ole-fashioned Trifecta ticket. Here goes … the head-bob? It goes to Englehart’s filly … for the win.

          Wager: Trifecta Box, $2, 1/4/5/8

            #6
Best Horse Racing Bets for Wednesday, January 26, 2022
By J.W. Paine in Horse Racing

The morning-line favorites in the races I assessed for Charles Town Races, Gulfstream Park, and Parx Racing have a slight advantage, but that doesn’t mean I couldn’t find some underdog moneymaker, oh no.

There’s at least one second-favored pick at each of the racks, and I found a third-favored entry—at 8/1, no less—at Charles Town. Even Gulfstream yielded a 5/1 fourth-favored underdog.

You can always find the full race-cards for all the tracks I visit at one of our top online racebooks.

            Good luck!
Wednesday Picks for Charles Town Races

We’re on the main track for race three, a 6-1/2 furlong allowance race for four-year-olds and upward that have never won two races. This race was rescheduled from last week due to winter storms.

My money’s on the second-favored (at 6/5) Nico, ridden by Antonio Lopez.

Nico has been a favorite of mine for the past year, and here’s why: Ten money finishes in eleven career starts, five of those wins. In this short field of six, this five-year-old will do quite nicely indeed.

Javier Contreras trains Nico for owner-breeder O’Sullivan Farms LLC. Contreras has put Lopez in the irons for Nico’s last six races.

Race seven is a 4-1/2 furlong allowance race on the dirt track for West Virginia-bred fillies and mares four years old and upward that have never won three races. This race was rescheduled from last week due to winter storms.
I’m going with the 7/2 third-favored Eye of the Needle, with Fredy Peltroche aboard.

In this seven-horse field, the four-year-old Eye of the Needle is a stand-out with seven money finishes in nine career starts, two of those wins. Her three most recent races added a third and two wins to her record.

Longtime horseracing veteran David Walters trains Eye of the Needle for owner-breeder Michael J. Miller. Walters tapped Peltroche to saddle Eye of the Needle for her last three races.

Race eight is a 4-1/2 furlong allowance race on the dirt track for three-year-old’s that have never won two races (West Virginia-bred races not considers for eligibility). This race was rescheduled from last week due to winter storms.

I’m sticking with the 8/5 morning-line favorite, Run to Daylight, piloted by Arnaldo Bocachica.

This three-year-old gelding moneyed the first three of his five career starts, each of those money finishes a win, including his initial maiden attempt last August, the Henry Mercer Memorial Stakes (Black Type) in September, and the West Virginia Vincent Moscarelli Memorial Breeders’ Classic Stakes (Black Type) in October.

Top-ranked trainer Jeff C. Runco trains Run to Daylight for owner David M. Raim.
My Wednesday Picks for Gulfstream Park

Let’s start on the all-weather track with race four, a 5-1/2 furlong claiming race for three-year-old fillies. I’m buying a win ticket on the 5/2 morning-line favorite, Chacalosa, with top jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. in the irons.

This filly finished three of her five career starts in the money, winning two, including her most recent allowance race at Gulfstream. She won that race despite being bumped not once, but twice at the start. She also won the Arlington-Washington Lassie Stakes (Black Type) las August at Arlington International.

Twenty-year horseracing veteran Larry Rivelli trains Chacalosa for Patricia’s Hope LLC.

Race six is a 5-1/2 furlong claiming race on the all-weather track for three-year-old fillies. I like the fourth-favored (at 5/1) Awesome Apeal, with Paco Lopez aboard.

This filly moneyed three of her five career starts, winning one—which actually gives her a better record than that of the morning-line favorite, Shez Reckless.
Sure, Shez Reckless was an also-ran in a couple of stakes races, but her only distinction there is that she managed to cross the finish line second-to-last in each. Take my word for it: Bet on Awesome Apeal.

Co-owner Robert B. Hess, Jr. trains Awesome Apeal for himself and Jeffrey Lambert.

Let’s move to the turf course for race eight, a 1-1/16 mile claiming race for fillies and mares four years old and upward that have never won two races. I’m betting on the second-favored (at 7/2) Alpha Babe, ridden by Shaun Bridgmohan.

This four-year-old filly finished four of her eight career starts in the money, winning one, giving her a record identical to that of the favorite, except that Alpha Babe has performed better post-graduation, finishing in the money twice in claiming races.

One of North America’s top 100 trainers since 2009, Jeremiah C. Englehart trains Alpha Babe for owner Joseph Bucci.
            Wednesday’s Picks for Parx Racing

Let’s start on the dirt track with race three, a seven-furlong starter allowance race for four-year-olds and upward that have never won four races. I like the second-favored (at 3/1) Irish Riviera, piloted by top jockey Jaime Rodriguez.

This five-year-old gelding finished 11 of his 18 career starts in the money, winning three, giving him a slight statistical edge in this evenly matched field of six.

With more than two decades experience in the business, Jamie Ness trains Irish Riviera for Jagger Inc.

Race five is a one-mile starter optional claiming raced on the dirt track for fillies and mares four years old and upward. I’m betting my two dollars on the no-brainer of the day: 8/5 morning-line favorite Sweet Willemina, with Silvestre Gonzalez in the irons.

This five-year-old mare finished in the money 16 of her 24 career starts, winning eight, including the Salvatore M. Debunda PTHA President’s Cup Stakes (Black Type) in September here at Parx, and the Claiming Crown Glass Slipper Starter Stakes in December at Gulfstream Park.
Even more impressive, Sweet Willemina has won seven of her last nine races—and Silvestre Gonzalez was aboard for each one of those victories.

Longtime horseracing veteran Scott A. Lake trains Sweet Willemina for owners Richard Ciavardone and Home Team Stables.

Race ten is a seven-furlong allowance optional claiming race on the dirt track for four-year-olds and upward that have never won two races. My win ticket is on the 7/2 morning-line favorite, Bullet Butch, ridden by top jockey Frankie Pennington.

This four-year-old colt moneyed both of his career starts, winning his initial maiden attempt in November, then finishing third in an allowance race earlier this month. In this eight-horse field, he’s the star.

Breeders’ Cup veteran Robert E. Reid, Jr. trains Bullet Butch for owners Cash is King LLC and LC Racing LLC.

Rocket Picks : Gulfstream Park and Tampa Bay Downs for January 26, 2022
              By: Aaron Halterman

It’s Pegasus Week and the action should be awesome all week long! For the free pick 4, we will head to Tampa Bay Downs today, which has another good Wednesday card. We will also be covering Gulfstream Park today for the paid Rockets, so be sure to check those out. We’ve been hot lately, so hopefully we can keep it up! Let’s kick off the week in a good way!

Below is our free Late Pick 4 for Tampa Bay Downs:

Tampa Bay Downs January 26, 2022

              Race 6: Allowance Optional Claiming

#3 Morgan Point will take a big drop down in class for this race after taking on stakes company last time out. #2 Eros Girl will be doing the same thing as our top pick, dropping down in class, after running in tough stakes company last time out.

              Race 7: Maiden Claiming

#2 Starship Saratoga was solid in her turf debut last time out, finishing a decent fourth at this level. With improvement, she can win here. #4 Tamis Orchid was second at this level last time out, but has struggled to finish the deal in several starts.

              Race 8: Claiming

#6 Codetowin should be tough today on the class drop after running competitively against allowance company in his last several starts. #7 Doodle Hopper takes a slight drop in class after being competitive against tougher company.

              Race 9: Claiming

#7 Go Yeowomen runs consistently well at this level, but just has not been able to finish the job. The stretch out should help her today. #1 She Fled the Scene won at this level and over this track two starts back.

              THE TICKET

              $.50 Pick 4 (Races 6-9) 2,3,6 / 2,4,5,6,8 / 6 / 1,2,7,8 – $30

Hong Kong Preview: Golden opportunity for Marquis
                  By: Alastair Bull

#6 Gold Marquis should be able to build on his great Hong Kong debut and push hard for victory in the Breezy Handicap at Happy Valley Jan. 26.

A winner of two of his three starts in his New Zealand homeland when known as Designer Genes, Gold Marquis faced a good Class 3 field on his Hong Kong debut at Happy Valley Jan. 12 and went very close to winning, finishing just behind Special M and Stoltz over 1000 meters (about five furlongs).

The way he rallied from midfield suggested he should appreciate the step up in distance in this race to 1200 meters (about six furlongs), something that his New Zealand form also shows.

Jockey Blake Shinn has an awkward draw of nine to deal with, but he should be able to find a good slot midfield and finish quickly.

Gold Marquis faces a solid field with a number of horses either in very good form or with solid excuses for recent defeats.

#7 Rewarding Together has won two of his last four starts and was highly impressive in Class 4 company at his last start. He received a nice barrier draw, but he is up nine pounds in the ratings following his victory and faces tougher company here.

#1 Astrologer has also come into top form in recent starts, winning won two of his last three starts. He’s up five pounds in the ratings after winning here Jan. 5, but does have the services of Joao Moreira on his side. The horse he narrowly beat last start, #9 Meridian Genius, should also go well again.

#2 Decisive Twelve, #3 Jolly Good Heart, and #5 A Smile Like Yours all finished out of the placings last start but had excuses after either using up energy to lead from wide draws or being caught wide without cover. Jolly Good Heart in particular went too quickly in the early stages and was only swamped in the final sixteenth, and could bounce back with a more patient ride.

#6 Sleepy N Joyful Never easy to step up to face winners for the first time, but this filly is in really good form right now and graduated with authority last time out. She should be in line for another perfect trip tracking the pace.
#4 Beautiful Star There isn't anything to write home about in the recent form, but she has been in with better groups to varying degrees over the last six months, and she might find this bunch a bit more to her liking.
#1 Aldina She seems likely to set the tempo from the inside after fading late for twice this price last time out, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see her flash a bit of rail pace and see these off the entire way.
Race Summary Sleepy N Joyful took 10 starts to get that first career score, but she has been in pretty reliable form and should be able to find a great spot to keep the rail runner in her sights early on.

#3 Zertz He might offer a bit better price this time around, and he's quick enough to stay in touch with the pair who seem faster early on paper. Best stuff fits well here, and a cleaner go of things late might be enough.
#6 Pictor Have to respect the recent form, and he has been a menace over the local footing throughout his career, landing nine wins here from 16 lifetime starts. Pace should force the issue from the break.
#1 The Sicarii He has some big finishing potential at times, and he's capable of something better then he showed last time out. Think one of the top two will get the better of him, but he figures capable for a piece of this late.
Race Summary Zertz seems likely to land as the second choice here behind Pictor, and he should be able to get a good trip spying the speeds. This third start off the break could bring out an even better effort.

                        Picks Notes
#5 Rainbow Trout She steps up after landing that maiden win, and she was flattered with Sister Sadie came back to score in her follow up start. She might be able to land a first-over trip with these, and something similar to her last might be good enough.
#2 Glossy Madrina She has a bit of pace to use here, but she tends to be dicey in the lane as far as her ability to finish off races. Sticks around for a piece, but no more?
#3 Jesse the Great She brings reliable, competitive form to this one, but she's still a steep kind of dropper with just one score from 23 lifetime starts. Think she might be along too late, but her class stamps her as one of the obvious ones.
Race Summary Rainbow Trout could land the winning trip here, and the big question is whether the solid dropper Jesse the Great will be too good and find a way to outfinish these. 'Trout should be a better number and will get the jump on the chalk.

#5 CINNAMON STICK Trotter finished willingly after tough trip versus similar foes.
#2 HOT SUMMER KNIGHT Classy 11yo stayed flat in qualifying romp after breaks in prior two starts.
#4 BANK GUARD Parlayed pocket trip into upset victory.
Race Summary Cinnamon Stick can turn the tables on several rivals who defeated him last out. He took back to last to avoid behing 5-wide early, bid 3-wide on the far turn around stalled cover and got beat 2 lengths. He is today's Best Bet.

#4 CIRCLE THE PAGE Useful tune-up after eight months on sidelines.
#3 BAD TIGRESS Rallied past the tiring favorites to win at Northfield.
Race Summary In Love Again stayed inside as the outer flow developed and was shuffled in the third quarter as a result. She swung 3-wide in the stretch and surged late at the 1-to-5 winner to just miss. Play 2-3 and 2-4 exactas.

#2 DA BOOGIE MAN Discount latest, major player with favorable post switch.
#4 PILGRIM CAVIAR Can make good use of his speed if he avoids another nasty break.
#1 SHARED INTEREST A Held his own in amateur drivers' races, gets top pilot tonight.
Race Summary Da Boogie Man trailed most of the way from post 7 behind a slow pace last week. He gained some on the turn but was geared down in the stretch. He raced close-up two starts back and finished second after the 2-to-5 favorite broke stride. Play a 1-2-4 exacta box.

#2 Princess Cupid After a maiden win in her debut she posted a third-place finish and was claimed by Aubrey Maragh; has shown talent on the Tapeta and fits well in her return.
#5 Chacalosa Was up in time last out and is perfect in two all-weather starts; comes out of a slow race but will take lots of action because of Ortiz, Jr., being named to ride.
#4 Ala Turka Was an easy winner last out and won both Tapeta starts; has good late energy.
Race Summary Princess Cupid comes off a solid effort in her second start and the Maragh stable is off to a good start this year.

#2 Silky Warrior Usually is a good closer but didn't fire going 1.5 miles last out; turns back to a better distance for her and she's a huge threat to run them down.
#1 Miss Delicious Likes to be on the front end and has a good opportunity for that here; Maker claim has faced solid company and fits in this spot.
#8 Systematic Can be close to the early action and can stay for a piece of it.
Race Summary Silky Warrior gets plenty of speed to chase and will be rolling late.

#8 Not So Easy Has become comfortable in a stalking position and can secure that kind of trip here; likely to be overlooked on the board but is a legit player.
#2 On the Couch Ran an even fourth in her last one, which was his first on synth; could improve off that effort.
#1 Papa Honor Was in the mix throughout, took a slight lead in mid-stretch and finished third; good enough to be in the mix throughout.
Race Summary Not So Easy was a sharp winner on Tapeta last out and has been solid in two of his last three; has developed some late punch.

                              Today’s Horse Racing Tips – 26th January 2022
By: Racing and Sports Time published 2022-01-26 at 10:46 AM (GMT +11:00)

Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Caulfield, Warwick Farm, Launceston, Belmont Park, Ipswich, Murray Bridge, Fannie Bay, Hanging Rock, Wagga, Kilcoy and Balnarring.

                              CAULFIELD: RACE 6 @ 4:20 PM

Hard to knock the way that LIGHTHOUSE (4) has gone about things since coming to Australia from the US. She has posted impressive ratings in all four wins and the latest was the pick of them, sitting back off a fast pace and powering over the top to win well. Looks to get a very similar scenario with plenty of speed engaged. Betting value can be GROUNDSWELL (3) who is an interesting runner kicking off at 1400m. Has often taken a 1200m run to blow the cobwebs off but he won at this trip off a short spell back in August last year and suspect the yard have set him right up for this. He's about good enough. CROSSHAVEN (2) and AGE OF CHIVALRY (1) were no match for Lighthouse last time but both are good 1400m horses on their day and can go better than that. Racing well enough to think that they could produce their best in the right scenario and that is competitive.
SELECTIONS: Have to be with Lighthouse.

                              WARWICK FARM: RACE 7 @ 5:20 PM

The feature race on the card, the $150,000 Listed Australia Day Cup. PARRY SOUND (2) was a strong winner of the Group 3 Summer Cup two back before not being disgraced on Magic Millions day at the Gold Coast. Will be rock-hard fit now and looks the one they all have to run down. ATTORNEY (1) has been competing exclusively at Group and Listed level and will appreciate the drop in grade here. Looks a major player. The well-related NAVY CROSS (6) got the job done last time out and can go on with it now. In the mix. FUN FACT (5) is one from one here on his home surface and is a must for the multiples. MUBARIZ (4) is a two-time winner around this circuit and is worth including.
                              SELECTIONS: Parry Sound to win.

                              MURRAY BRIDGE: RACE 3 @ 2:47 PM

YELLOW IDOL (14) races handy and just missed in town and then went close again at Gawler. Draws low and Holder takes over and links well with the Stokes barn. Draws to advantage and can break through. REVUE (6) was backed off the map at Oakbank on debut and has no luck at all. Has a wide barrier but gets the blinkers first time and Pannell takes over from Vorster. In a top yard and sharp improvement is likely. QUICK RETURN (5) was on speed and folded up at Gawler. Impressed his first two race starts and can take a sit today and gets back into the finish. STARLOCKET (12) was also plain the latest but was good prior and is in the mix.
                              SELECTIONS: Backing Yellow Idol.

                              HANGING ROCK: RACE 4 @ 2:46 PM

JEKYLL'N'HYDE (1) has a wide run at Camperdown the latest and go on the lip defeat prior at Geelong this distance when he led. That stacks right up for this and he can get back on track. THE ONION THIEF (3) was also plain at Camperdown. Wasn't beaten far three-back at Stawell and that would have her in the finish. Will race handy and should get the staying trip. MY KING'S COUNSEL (4) has been racing at the provincials and draws for the run of the race. He's going well enough to consider. SO BELAFONTE (5) will be fitter and may be next best.
                              SELECTIONS: Going with Jekyll'N'Hyde.

                              WAGGA: RACE 8 @ 5:45 PM

VICTORY CHUCKLE (1) put in a brave effort when finishing third last start at Kilmore, where he was trapped wide throughout before just coming up short. He was a big maiden winner at his prior run and gets senior hoop Jordan Mallyon in the irons for this assignment. He will be very hard to hold out. RUBICK ISLAND (12) is still a maiden but has been placed in three of her five starts, the latest being a solid third at Moruya. She gets the winkers added for the first time which should sharpen her up and a win can't be far away. Include in all multiples. BOSSY BOOT (10) has needed all her three runs in this time and wasn't totally happy with the soft ground last start. She gets a jockey upgrade with Brendan Ward taking over the reins and is worthy of consideration for wider combinations at nice each way odds. ELECTRIC STORM (14) got back early last start before finding the line strongly to finish third, he is ready for the mile fifth up and will be given every chance by Nick Heywood.
                              SELECTIONS: Victory Chuckle win bet.
