Friday NHL Free play. My selection is on Pittsburgh over Detroit at 7:05 pm et on Friday.
This is obviously an extremely chalky play but I like the way the situation sets up for the Penguins and believe the price could be even higher. First, I want to isolate a situation I've brought up on multiple occasions this season, with considerable success. The Red Wings are now a miserable 9-50 when playing on the road off a loss over the last 2+ seasons, outscored by 1.9 goals on average in that situation. Meanwhile, the Pens check in off a stunning home loss to the expansion Kraken last night. Perhaps Pittsburgh got a little complacent after brushing aside the lowly Coyotes by a 6-3 score one game earlier. Nevertheless, I expect the Pens to bounce back with a strong effort here, noting that they're a perfect 9-0 in their last nine home games coming off a one-goal loss, outscoring opponents by a wide margin of 2.8 goals in that situation. You would have to go back five meetings to April of 2019 to find the last time Detroit defeated Pittsburgh. The Wings last victory here in the Steel City came way back in 2017. Take Pittsburgh.

I like them as a short home favorite here against the Boston Celtics. The Celtics are getting too much respect off two straight blowout wins over Washington and Sacramento. They had been upset by the Blazers and the Hornets in their two games prior. The Celtics are 7-20-1 ATS in their last 28 games off a win by more than 10 points. The Hawks are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games. Atlanta is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings. Give me the Hawks Friday.

Georgiev was in goal and he has been struggling but Shesterkin has been fantastic and I expect that to continue tonight on Friday as the Rangers current #1 netminder should be back patrolling the crease tonight. I cashed in the over in the Timberwolves/Warriors game last night. Fortunately they built up enough cushion in the 1st half to make up for the loss of De'Angelo Russell early in the 2nd half for the Timberwolves. He means everything to their team both from a side and total perspective.
Russell is questionable to play tonight for the Timberwolves. Even if he goes he clearly won't be 100%. Now Minnesota will be on tired legs playing the 2nd of a back-to-back and shooting will be an issue for them. They will be taking on a Phoenix Suns team that ranks 2nd in the NBA in defensive efficiency this season. Phoenix has held eight straight opponents to 109 points or fewer.
The UNDER is 5-2 in the last seven meetings. That includes a 99-96 road win by the Suns for just 195 combined points in their lone meeting this season. In fact, the Suns and Timberwolves have combined for 230 or fewer points in 14 of their last 16 meetings. This total has simply been set too high tonight folks. Bet the UNDER in this game Friday.
