I want the Avalanche going for me after a flat 4-1 home loss to the Stars last night. The last time Colorado lost two in a row was way back on Nov. 3 and Nov. 6.
The Avalanche may have taken it easy against the Stars since they had just blanked them, 4-0, this past Sunday.
Colorado is the No. 2 scoring team in the league. Golden Knights goalie Robin Lehner is battling an upper-body injury. He looked terrible in net during Las Vegas' last game, a 6-0 loss to the Flames.
Las Vegas has been idle for a week. So expect some rust.
Colorado is 9-1 the past 10 times when playing on zero rest.

Wednesday NBA Free play. My selection is on Golden State minus the points over Denver at 10:10 pm et on Wednesday.
The Warriors have now lost six games in a row ATS and three of their last four SU. With the All-Star break on tap following tonight's home date with the Nuggets, I look for them to go 'all out' in an effort to turn things around. Denver has won four of its last five games overall but only managed to split a recent two-game road trip. The Nuggets have been scuffling along for much of the campaign and check in just 24-31-2 ATS, including a 13-16-2 ATS mark away from home. Note that they check in a miserable 6-15 ATS after winning four or five of their last six games this season, as is the case here. Meanwhile, the Warriors are 17-6 ATS when playing at home off a loss over the last two seasons, outscoring opponents by 12.1 points on average in that situation. While Golden State might have had a bit of trouble getting up for Monday's date with the Clippers in Los Angeles, that shouldn't be the case here, noting that Denver defeated them in an ugly 89-86 affair here in San Francisco back on December 28th. Take Golden State.
