I'll gladly take my chances with Loyola-Chicago as a 4.5-point favorite in the MVC Championship Game against Drake. The Ramblers were thought to be the best team in the Missouri Valley, even though they didn't win the regular-season title and they have shown it so far in Arch Madness. Loyola-Chicago took down Bradley 66-50 on Friday and then destroyed UNI 66-43 on Saturday.
Now they get a chance to get their revenge on Drake, who beat them in both regular-season meetings, including a 83-76 win at Loyola back on Feb. 19. The Bulldogs had an easy win over S. Illinois on Friday, but had to gut out a 79-78 OT win on Saturday against Missouri State to get to this game.
It's an impressive feat for Drake to get this far after losing a key player like D.J. Wilkins late in the year, but I think they are going to be out of gas against a much better team today. The Bulldogs 5 starters all played at least 38 minutes in the win over Missouri Valley with just 3 other players combining to play 22 minutes. Give me the Ramblers -4.5!

No. 24 Iowa (22-8 / 12-7 Big Ten) has won five straight and EIGHT of nine as it gets set to play its regular season final Sunday night at No. 20 Illinois (21-8 / 14-5 Big Ten) in Champaign. Here's the set-up. Iowa can seal a double bye into the conference tournament if it can win on Sunday night, while Illinois could enter this contest with a chance to share the conference title and earn the top seed at the Big Ten tourney. However, that would require last-place Nebraska to win earlier on Sunday. That said, even if the Badgers clinch the regular-season crown, the Illini can wrap up the No. 2 seed with a win.

Fran McCaffrey is in his 12th season at Iowa City and he's delivered seven, 20-win seasons in his first 11 (now 8 in 12). The 6-8 Murray twins (Keegan and Kris) were freshmen last season at Iowa. Keegan gained playing time as the year wound down but Kris was lost in the shuffle. This season, Keegan leads the team in scoring (23.3) and rebounding (8.5) while his brother Kris chips in 10.2 & 4.5. Returning players like the 6-9 Patrick McCaffrey (10.5 & 3.8) and guard Bohannon (11.2) have both played well. The 6-9 Rebraca (6.0 & 5.6), guards Perkins (6.8)and Toussaint (4.4-3.5 APG) plus 6-7 freshman Sandfort (4.8) round out a deep group.

Brad Underwood became a star at SF Austin, going 89-14 with three straight NCAA appearances. He was hired at Oklahoma St and went 20-13, leading the Cowboys to the 'Big Dance," He was then lured to Illinois but his first two seasons resulted in 14-18 and 12-21 records. Those days are now in the rearview mirror, as the Fighting Illini have gone 21-10, 24-7 and now 21-8! The 7-0 Cockburn (21.0 & 10.5) is a national player of the year candidate, as he is the ONLY player in Division I averaging 20 & 10. Illinois goes six-deep, as guards Plummer (15.1), Frazier (12.5 & 4.0 APG), Grandison (10.3 & 4.0) and Curbelo (7.9) are joined by the 6-10 Hawkins (5.3 & 3.9).
The teams last played back on Dec 6 in Iowa City, where Illinois outscored the Hawkeyes 87-83. Illinois can score (76.3 PPG) but Iowa is averaging 83.6 PPG, 5th-best in the nation. Earning that No. 4 seed and getting a double-bye easily gives the Hawkeyes MORE to play for plus throw in a little pay-back and it's worth taking the points.

The Cleveland Cavaliers just got Darius Garland back from injury and he makes all the difference for them. They took the 76ers to the wire on the road in their last game, and I look for them to return home highly motivated for a victory after losing six of their last seven coming in.
Look for the Cavaliers to handle a Toronto Raptors team that I have successfully faded in each of their last two games. They lost outright as 8-point home favorites to the Pistons and outright as 7.5-point home favorites to the Magic. They are still missing OG Anunoby and could be without Fred VanVleet again tonight.
The Raptors haven't been playing well for weeks as they are just 3-6 SU & 2-7 ATS in their last nine games overall. That includes blowout losses to the Hawks by 27, the Hornets by 32 and the Pelicans by 30. Two of their wins came against the short-handed Nets and one of those came by a single point as 8-point home favorites.
Cleveland is 23-7-1 ATS in its last 31 games following an ATS win. The Cavaliers are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. Cleveland is 15-7-1 ATS in the last 23 meetings, including 6-1 ATS in the last seven home meetings. Bet the Cavaliers Sunday.

The Ducks need to turn their season around if they want to stay in the hunt for the playoffs. It's too late for San Jose to turn things around. After losing 8-0 to Nashville on Sunday, it doesn't look like they have a lot of fight in them. Making matters even more challenging for San Jose, they have lost their top two netminders. With James Reimer and Adin Hill out, their 3rd and 4th string netminders leave a lot to be desired. The Sharks are 2-10 in their last 12 overall, and they have lost four straight to the Ducks. The Ducks are 12-5 in their last 17 games as a favorite.
