    Today’s Horse Racing Tips – 14th March 2022
    By: Racing and Sports

    MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 2 @ 1:05 PM

SEE YOU IN HEAVEN (1) was impressive on debut winning down the Flemington straight beating Satin Love and has trialled nicely for her return to the races. She draws perfectly in barrier two and looks the horse they have to beat. BISTRO (2) is a Victorian who was a Sandown winner in December who ran well when 5th behind Miss Roseiano in a Blue Diamond Prelude last time. She is a big danger here. PRANCE 'N' DANCE (3) was good beating Biographer two starts back before finding some trouble last time. IMBIBE (7) looked very smart winning a Morphettville trial by 5.5 lengths. RUNAWAY BELLE (5) has been solid at both starts the latest behind Berry Bubbly at Moonee Valley and the Stokes stable goes for the blinkers here.
SELECTIONS: See You In Heaven can be winning here first-up on her home deck.

    WARRNAMBOOL: RACE 3 @ 1:50 PM

DEFINING (11) was strongly fancied on debut after showing ability but did a lot wrong and finished fifth at Ballarat Synthetic over 1000m when beaten 2.25 lengths. There was an extensive stewards report of everything that went wrong but was tipped out again and given plenty of time. Definitely worth another try here. BELLINI MISS (10) is still a maiden after two starts but was placed at this track when on debut before finishing fourth at Ararat last start. Showing ability and won't be a maiden too long. WATCH AND ACT (9) ran a 4.5 lengths fourth at Bendigo last start. Did plenty wrong here on debut. Has ability and can feature with even luck. BOLD TROPIC (1) finished in the money last start running third at Hamilton. That was a career best figure and can only be fitter. Rates one of the chances. HAPPY SOCKS (3) closed off nicely when beaten 1.75 lengths last time here. One for consideration.
    SELECTIONS: Back up on Defining.

    GRAFTON: RACE 1 @ 2:35 PM

ROYAL SKY (2) relished the step up in distance last start when he scored a tough maiden win over today's journey at the Sunshine Coast. Doesn't meet a deep field here so a repeat is on the cards. LAST NOT LEAST (3) collected his maiden in style over the mile at this track two runs back. Failed in town subsequently on a bog track but back in this more suitable race he can make amends. SUMMIT SPECIAL (5) made a little late ground to get up for fourth over 1600m at the Sunshine Coast in heavy going recently. Looks ready for the extra trip now. Hard to make a case for the other runners with OPEN MARKET (8) likely to relegate VENOMOUS (6) to last spot.
SELECTIONS: #2 Royal Sky is proven at the trip and should take care of this lot.

    CAIRNS: RACE 5 @ 4:09 PM

ARISE MY SON (1) turned in an eye-catching run last start in a Class 6 over this distance at Townsville, charging home from well back to finish the closest of seconds. Is yet to break through this campaign but is racing well, finishing in the money at all four starts. Back in grade and ready to win. LOVE ON SUNDAY (2) made it three wins and two placings from five starts this preparation when he scored last start at Atherton over 1400m on a soft track as favourite. Should settle just off the lead and another big run is on the cards. MAGNATE (6) has a moderate winning strike-rate but performed well last time at Atherton, finishing second and only 1.5 lengths from the winner. Frank Edwards who has three wins when partnering stays on. Should be involved in the finish. TRIGGER (4) is yet to break through this prep but has two placings from four appearances. Led but found one better over this course and distance last time. Can play a big role. GAELIC (5) is a fringe hope first up.
SELECTIONS: Keen on #1 Arise My Son.

Today's Horse Racing Tips: Monday March 14th
      Stephen Harris

      bettingexpert Racing editor

      Today’s Racing Tips – March 14th

The calm before the storm on Monday, with Plumpton, Taunton and Stratford proving three low key jumps races for punters to get their Cheltenham betting tank well stocked. All-weather action begins under lights at 5.00pm at Wolverhampton.
      Today’s Daily Nap

      Bobs Bar

      Stratford 1:45pm

Donald McCain’s renaissance season continues apace, with 8 winners in the last 14 days, and this progressive novice hurdler is fancied to make a winning chasing debut at Stratford on Monday. He has shaped well in defeat over timber of late under a penalty, tapped at a bare two miles last time at Newcastle, and a clean round of jumping under Brian Hughes can see him take advantage of a lenient looking mark now over the larger obstacles (pointing experience).

      Odds: 5.00
      Today’s Value Angle

      One Forty Seven

      Stratford 2:55pm

Stratford is a uniquely undulating venue that does not suit many horses ideally, but Nigel Twiston-Davies handicapper seems to reserve his best efforts for round here. He was won three times in total at the track, and seems sure to go very close with drying conditions expected to suit ideally over this 2m6f trip.

      Odds: 11.00

Odds are best odds available as at 2am March 13th 2022. Odds may now differ.

            Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

            Parx Racing - Race #3
            Picks Notes
#3 Nautical Gem She has the kind of pace to get involved from the start, and I like that she has the ability to rate just a touch if needed. Looks like the one to beat.
#5 Knock Out Kid It has been some time since she landed a race, but she is capable of something better than she showed last time out and figures logical for an underneath share.
#1 Blunt Force This easier spot gives her some room to wake up after a modest run last time out against a better group, but she might be along too late again to grab top honors.
Race Summary Nautical Gem is in really good form right now, having won three of her last four, and she figures for another perfect trip while involved early.

            Parx Racing - Race #5
            Picks Notes
#1 Call the Po Po She lands in an easier spot today after fading badly last out when in with better, and she has some ability to get involved out of the gate from this rail draw. Bounces back today?
#4 Laugh It Off She's a pretty reliable finisher, but I worry she isn't going to get the right kind of setup for her late rally. That said, I like how she handled the step up to face winners last time out, and she fits right back with these.
#5 Going Going Gone She's tough to love with that 1-for-20 record staring back at you, but she is a better fit getting back in with this type, and she landed a long string of underneath slices when she was at this level in the past.
Race Summary Call the Po Po is capable of something better than she showed last time out, and she drops in at a really reasonable level after the dull try last time out.

            Parx Racing - Race #7
            Picks Notes
#4 Thomas Knight Forward player has improved since getting back around two turns, and he figures for another perfect trip while tracking the pace from close range. First-over trip gets him home?
#5 Louie's Wish He's a pretty capable pace player, but he's all or nothing on the engine and should be good for a thrill early on. Chance to wire these.
#2 Wild Haven Finisher might have a little upside while getting back around two turns, but he looks best suited for the underneath spots rather than on top with these.
Race Summary Thomas Knight looks like the right one in a spot where he figures for a pretty perfect trip right up top. Something like the 4/1 ML price would feel appealing enough.

Al Cimaglia: Pompano Park Pick 4 Analysis-$15,000 Guaranteed Pool

              March 14, 2022 | By Al Cimaglia

Pompano Park has a compact 8-race card set to go tonight. The popular 0.50 Pick 4 starts in Race 5. The sequence has a $15,000 guaranteed pool with a low 12% takeout, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

              Race 5

3-Bend In The River (5-1)-Claimed by Holiday and then stepped-up to face the $25k claimers. Raced evenly to finish 5th and may have been aiming for this spot. Could offer a solid price and should be forwardly placed.
4-Simply Volo (5/2)-Broke as 3/5 chalk from the 7-hole when facing this class. Like others, is not a proven winner versus this kind, but should be a threat if minds manners.
6-Aboslut Uncertenty (9/2)-Drops into a spot for a picture. Hennessey sticks, draws inside and there isn't a standout in this field.

              Race 6

3-Odds On Pick Six (9/5)-Odds-on chalk finished 2nd in a quick 151.4 mile and could look to get the top off the gate. Has missed a start but figuring team Wrenn will have this 4-year-old dialed on high.
6-Dakota Jack (10-1)-Drops in the 3rd start for the Oke barn and the last effort was an improvement. Rolled the back half in 55.3 and could win at a price if there is a lively pace. Has hit the board in 20 of 40 at the Pomp with 8 wins.
7-Noahs Mill (6-1)-Miller is back for the 2nd consecutive steer. Bumps up, could be a solid price and did pace the 2nd half in 54.4 last time. Should have enough gate speed to get a good early seat and then look to sweep by down the lane.

              Race 7

4-Four Wheelin (2-1)-Drops out of straight Open company and that could make a significant difference. Should be a player but Hennessey will need to work the right trip.
6-Max (9/2)-Also drops out of Opens but is 0-8 at the Pomp. Willing to use at a fair price and has the gate speed to race near the top of the stack. Miller is in the bike and may have found a beatable field.

              Race 8

3-Susie's Sister (6-1)-Taking a swing with this price shot who has hit the board in 11 of 13 south Florida starts. Drops into a more comfortable spot in the 2nd start off the bench.
5-Gemologist (2-1)-Has been cashing checks versus better and draws well so Santeramo should be in control shortly after the start. The price should be small and does look like the one to beat.

              0.50 Pick 4

              3,4,6/3,6,7/4,6/3,5
              Total bet=$18

There hasn’t been a 100-50-20-10 race thus far, but that’ll change on March 26 in Louisana at Fair Grounds. The running of the $1,000,000 Louisiana Derby (Gr. 1) will take place with a lot on the line.

We’re at Parx and Louisana Downs on Monday. Louisiana Downs is quarter horse racing with $49,300 in prize money. Head below for our best Louisana Downs picks on March 14, 2022.

                Distance: 870 Yards
                Purse:$7,300

The second race is a long one for a quarter horse race, as seven horses will travel 870 yards for a $7,300 purse. Agoutis Snowplow and Arzon should run well on these terms at 870 yards.

Agoutis Snowplow is 10 for 64 in his career and has recent success. The gelding is 5th, 3rd, 1st in his previous three attempts.

In his most recent race, Agoutis Snowplow looked good to beat Tm Dees Shine by 2 ½ lengths with a time of 47.199 seconds on February 23 for $4,300.

Two weeks prior, he showed 3rd on February 8 in the same class, clocked at 48.029 seconds. Expect a solid run, with pressure from Arzon.

Arzon is 5 for 10 and on a heater recently. He’s on a hat-trick and looking for more. In his most recent start, Arzon defeated Patriot Mountain by 1 ¼ lengths for $8,500.

That was a fast run, with Arzon timed at 46.268 seconds for a 1 ¼ length win. Before that win, Arzon cleared for a 1 ½ length win at 47.412 seconds.

If Arzon is interested, this looks like a big chance for him.

Five horses are expected to take on this 300-yard challenge at Louisiana Downs. Look for Ms Piloto Flying and Cold Call Wagon to have a serious opportunity at a winning run.

Ms Piloto Flying is 2 for 12 and has shown to be capable. She is 2nd, 4th, 1st, 5th in her previous four entries.

In an $8,300 race on December 16, Ms Piloto Flying beat Tm I See a Patriot by a head with a time of 15.827 seconds. That was impressive, but failed to step up in his next start two months later.

Ms Piloto Flying finished 5th on February 14 for $11,000. Too tough so it’s back down in class with a chance at this level.

Cold Call Wagon is 2 for 11 and 3rd, 1st, 2nd in her previous three outings. The filly is running well and competing hard.

She recorded a win just two outings back in an $8,300 race with a time of 15.733 seconds. Cold Call Wagon placed 2nd behind Fixin Too by a neck for a $12,300 prize at 12.164 seconds on February 21.

I’m siding with Cold Call Wagon to strike with a win over Ms Piloto Flying on Monday afternoon.

The fourth race is a $10,300 event covering 300 yards on the dirt. Expect a competitive run from Santa Fe and Jjj Valentino in this one.

Santa Fe and Jjjj Valentino are both making their debuts on Monday. There is only one horse with experience, Ruse Freight Blue who struggled to finish 9th as a first-time runner.

Santa Fe has been in good shape in workouts. In his first on February 3, Santa Fe was timed at 12.74 seconds. He followed up on February 24 for a time of 11.97 seconds.

Jjj Valentino has been blazing quick in workouts going into Monday. His effort has been encouraging, with times of 11.52 and 11.80 seconds.

He’s expected to have a productive career and has already gotten out well with promising workouts. No surprises if this is a debut win for Jjj Valentino at Louisiana Downs.

Race 3 is a $29,000 event covering 5 ½ furlongs on the dirt. Aussie Mist and Nautical Gem should get out ahead for a solid opportunity in the third race at Parx.

Aussie Mist is an eight-time winner in 54 races since debuting in 2017. This veteran last appeared on January 19 and looked in fine shape.

The mare placed 2nd behind Caramel Cream by a nose for an $18,000 prize. It was a solid go from Aussie Mist, but was denied against the heavy favorite.

Nautical Gem is 8 for 22 and running in strong form since March. She has finished top-2 in six of her previous seven, with a win on February 8.

In her latest entry, Nautical Gem drew off for a 2 ½ length $18,000 win. She’s gone 1st, 1st, 3rd, 1st in her last four. This consistent mare has to be watched.

Race 8 has to be a race worth considering a play on. Sailor Again and Perfect Revenge could see a bold bid for the top prize.

Sailor Again has two wins in 30 races, which doesn’t look like much, but he’s coming on recently. He is 2nd, 1st in his previous two attempts.

Sailor Again is coming off a 5 length win for a $20,000 purse. This came after placing 2nd behind Master of War in the same class.

This is up to $32,000, but the field doesn’t pose the biggest threat. Perfect Revenge should be dangerous, though.

The No. 3 is 2 for 24 and needs a drop in difficulty Monday. This should do the trick. In his previous attempts, Perfect Revenge is 4th, 6th, 4th.

He finished 4th in his latest on March 7. That was a solid effort for a $36,000 prize. Much easier opponents await Monday.

                  Distance:1 Mile 70 Yards
                  Purse:$36,000

Race 9 is a mile and 70 yards for a $36,000 purse. One Nation and Sky Temple are going to turn it on for the ninth race at Parx.

They both look like acceptable value for a win bet. One Nation has a couple of wins in 20 entries going into Monday.

He hasn’t been a winner since going in on August 2 for a $25,000 prize. In his most recent attempt, One Nation finished 6th for a $41,382 purse for five straight losses.

Sky Temple is 2 for 15 and consistent at the moment. The colt got home two races back for a $25,000 purse by 1 ¾ lengths even after getting bumped on October 10.

After that performance, Sky Temple showed 3rd on February 15 in the same grade. He has the most consistent form of this field.

In a competitive race that should have a good price for a winning horse, I’m siding with Sky Temple to carry on well in Philadelphia on Monday afternoon.

                        # 7 IOVA 6/1

                        # 4 LAUGH IT OFF 7/2

                        # 1 CALL THE PO PO 4/1

IOVA is the best wager in this race. Has respectable Equibase Class Figures relative to this group of animals - worth a look. Have to play this filly with the formidable earnings per start in dirt sprint races. Horses who have been prepared to race at this distance and surface by Rohena have shown strong results recently. LAUGH IT OFF - Could provide positive gains based on solid recent Equibase Speed Figs with an average of 64. She has very good class ratings, averaging 72, and has to be given consideration in this contest. CALL THE PO PO - With Ocasio controlling the reins on her, this filly will probably be able to break out quickly for this race. Likely to see this animal to be close up at the finish versus these racers.

                          #4 LAUGH IT OFF (ML=7/2)

B B'S ROCKET - Riviezzo brings her right back. I suggest you stick with this live filly. The most recent speed fig of 64 is the best last race speed figure in the bunch. LAUGH IT OFF - Jockey hops up atop after getting to know the race horse by riding last time out. That's always a good to see. Have to make this filly a contender; she comes off a nice contest on February 21st. This thoroughbred is a hot commodity. Claimed in her last two races.

                          Vulnerable Contenders: #1 CALL THE PO PO (ML=4/1), #2 BOLD'N NAUGHTY (ML=5/1), #5 GOING GOING GONE (ML=6/1),

CALL THE PO PO - The sixth place result in the last affair was not the greatest. BOLD'N NAUGHTY - This mare hasn't had any strong finishes in sprint races in the last two months. Not probable that the speed figure she earned on Mar 2nd will hold up in this affair. GOING GOING GONE - This filly has had countless efforts at Parx Racing and still no victories. Hard to bet on any thoroughbred to turn things around if there is no reward to taking the shot.

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - B B'S ROCKET - Has been racing regularly since a freshening. By my calculation, horses hit their peak cycle in their 3rd or 4th race back. Watch out for this thoroughbred right here.
