Wednesday NBA Free play. My selection is on the 'over' between Sacramento and Houston at 8:10 pm et on Wednesday.
The Kings defense has been virtually non-existent in recent weeks, noting that they've allowed 47, 46, 46, 42, 45 and 49 made field goals over their last six games. While their offense has been inconsistent, they do enter this game having scored 100+ points in four straight games and should have little trouble scoring against a sagging Rockets defense that just allowed San Antonio to shoot 47-for-100 from the field two nights ago. Houston hasn't shown any ability to control its opponents tempo over the last couple of games, yielding 93 and 100 FG attempts. I certainly expect the Kings to push the pace here as well, noting that they average 91 FG attempts per game on the road this season. Both previous meetings between these two teams have totalled 230+ points this season. We're dealing with a lower posted total here, largely due to the absences on both sides, but I'm not convinced it matters in this defense-optional affair on Wednesday. Take the over.

Wednesday's Free NBA Pick is on the San Antonio Spurs as a 6-point home dog against the Memphis Grizzlies. It's not easy betting against Memphis right now. The Grizzlies just keep covering. They have covered 5 straight and are now 49-26 (65.3%) ATS on the season. I just have to play San Antonio in this spot. Memphis will be in the second game of a back-to-back and you can't tell me in the back of their minds they aren't thinking about how a loss here could be a good thing with the Spurs being the team that is currently in front of Lebron and the Lakers for the 10th and final spot in the west. Grizzlies are all but locked in the No. 2 seed. Bet the Spurs +6!

I'm not going to get involved much - if at all again - with the banged-up, rebuilding Coyotes. But the price and opponent are attractive enough for me to back home 'dog Arizona here.
San Jose has lost eight of its last 10 road games. The Sharks realistically aren't making the playoffs either and they have a poor history at Gila River Arena.
The Coyotes are 4-4 in their last eight home games. Arizona is 4-0-1 the past five times hosting the Sharks holding a plus 11 goal differential in those games.
The teams have met twice this season with the Sharks scoring narrow home victories. San Jose won, 8-7, on Dec. 28 and 4-2 just 10 days ago. Arizona led 2-1 with less than five minutes left in that second matchup, but ended up losing by two goals when the Sharks scored an empty net goal.
So the Coyotes shouldn't lack motivation. The Sharks aren't good enough to look past any opponent. That could happen to them here, however, as they have their own double revenge game meeting the Avalanche on Friday.
