2^nd race [NY, Md 25000, 1 mi] – (2) Roz (A) raced seven-wide in her second race following a layoff and finished third on one of those days when the track was favoring the inside paths. (4) Kay Tee Gal just missed in a similar spot two races back and then tried the turf. (1) Elegant Laoban was second in her last two starts at the same level. Eventually, this type of horse wins in this kind of field. (6) Dance for Bourbon was bet to 5-1 for her debut in a similar spot.
5^th race [Md 25000, 7F] – (5) Lord Gatling (A) dropped into a maiden claimer for the first time and ran second well ahead of the others while racing seven-wide. (8) Floki’s Flight ships up from Laurel after debuting at the Maryland track and finished second after getting steadied. (2) North Pole returns from a November layoff and drops back into the claiming ranks as a new gelding. (4) Bold Victory finished second in his first start following nine months away. He is an MTO on Saturday at Belmont Park. (1) Kid Cash will drop into a claimer for the first time in her career after more than a year off.
6^th race [Alw 92000 N1X, 1 mi TURF] – (8) Baby Blythe (B) was heavily restrained and rank in the Jockey Club Oaks and got stuck out wide on an inside favoring track when last seen in September. (3) Nazuna moves back to the Chad Brown barn following a December layoff. Last year she faced better competition. (2) Naked On the Beach was a maiden winner when she moved back onto the turf in her second start of the year earning the best speed figure of her career. (7) Ready To Venture has two starts since coming over from Great Britain with a third and a second in allowances with improved speed figures.
9^th race [Alw 50000s, 1 1/16 mi] – (8) Braciole (A) broke last and was hard to handle but rallied to finish second in a starter allowance after breaking his maiden in his first start. (3) Luni Sima missed the win by a head in an allowance and now goes back to a starter allowance. That second-place finish earned the highest speed figure of his career. (9) Bossmakinbossmoves runs from off the pace and finds a field loaded with early speed. (10) Nicholas James snuck into a $20,000 maiden claimer without getting claimed and romped by more then 12 lengths as a heavy favorite.

CAJUN ACES - Have to like the early speed on this one. No one else may even be close. Filly has shown some pace. This shorter trip should be better for her. ANGELA'S CELERITY - This filly is the longer price of the 'split' entry from the barn of Foster. Horse made up some ground in the stretch in the last race on Mar 25th at Fair Grounds. That event is better than it looked.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 RYDENSEEK (ML=7/2), #4 SAY WHAT (ML=5/1), #9 EYESEEMONEY (ML=6/1),

RYDENSEEK - Really had to give me much more than that in the last race. Never made much of an impact. Hasn't been on the Louisiana Downs oval in the last few weeks. Cause for some concern. Will be tough for this horse to beat this field off of that last speed rating. Not probable to improve enough to run a figure close enough to today's Equibase class figure, so put her on the likely underlays list. SAY WHAT - Just can't play this pony. Didn't show me anything last time around the track or on February 16th. EYESEEMONEY - Usually I need a sprinter to have some recent good showings in short distance events in order to wager on her. This filly registered a speed fig in her last race which probably isn't good enough in today's race.

I've got to go with ONE JENUINE CARTEL V. Ought to be considered here on the basis of the numbers in the speed realm alone. Well above average win clip at this distance/surface. Put up a formidable speed figure in the last race. Can run another good one in this race. COLEBY - Will almost certainly compete strongly in the pace battle which bodes well with this group. JAVELINA CANTINA - Frey has a solid 36 percent win rate with entries running at this distance and surface. Could beat this group given the 67 speed figure earned in her last outing.

VICTORY BUILT - This jockey/conditioner duo has been producing a very positive ROI, right at +106. Have to like the early speed on this one. No one else may even be close. QUICKFLASH - You have to really like that last race speed figure, 92, which is the best latest race speed figure of this bunch. This horse earns a lot of money per race. Tops in this clash. Recent speed figs show solid pattern of improvement.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 CAJUN COMMANDER (ML=5/2), #2 MR. BUCKLEY (ML=7/2), #1 CENTAVO (ML=8/1),

CAJUN COMMANDER - Not probable that this animal will finish better than he did last out when ending up fifth. Earned a common speed fig last time around the track in a Starter Allowance race on April 15th. Not likely to see an improved performance off of that figure. MR. BUCKLEY - I find it hard to wager on any mount in a sprint clash if he hasn't hit the board in a sprint in the last couple months. CENTAVO - Today's contest is 6 1/2 furlongs. Hasn't finished in the money in a short distance event in the last 60 days. Not the greatest of indicators.

Must be considered - I like the numbers from the last competition. Has very good Equibase Class Figures relative to this field - worth a look. MONTES MISTAKE - Change in Lasix (with second time Lasix) may be the key to a turnaround. The speed figure of 66 from her last affair looks formidable in here. EB GEISHA - Should expect a much improved performance with the drop. Looks decent for the conditions of this race today, showing solid numbers in short races as of late.
