BIG PAPER looks competitive to best this field. Could provide positive dividends based on decent recent speed figs with an average of 72. He looks quite good in this spot and I expect will be on the lead or close at the halfway point. Earned a strong speed figure last time out. HORSE DADDY - Ought to be given a shot - I like the figures from the last race. The average class rating of 58 makes this one hard to beat. ASHWINS ORB - The duo of Riquelme/Garcia has one of the most competitive ROI percentages in this group of horses in this race. Has been running soundly lately and ought to be up on the front end early on.

THE GREEN MO'STER - We have lots of early speed with this noble animal. He could wire this field. Based on this gelding's recent efforts, he should profit from this shorter distance. CANDIZAR - This gelding should give a strong showing of himself in today's event. VINYL - Nice return on investment for this jockey and trainer tandem. This gelding's last race was back on Jan 6th but I do believe he can run a good one coming off a layoff. For my money, a bullet workout is the best indicator of fitness there is. Look at that last one - 101.0. Very impressive. You have to bet this equine at a racing surface he likes. There's nothing like being comfortable out on the track when it's time to race.

PICKING ROSES - The Equibase speed figures continue to sink, 97/93/78. Not a positive indication. GOLD BEAR - Hasn't hit the board in any sprint contests recently. Improbable to see him doing it in today's event either. A strong racer that's been running well, but he's been off the track in the mornings recently. Don't believe this questionable contender will make an impact in today's race. That last speed rating was run-of-the-mill when compared with today's class rating. MORE ICE - No success for this mount in a sprint contest over the last couple of months tells me that this gelding is in a difficult situation Should take this one off your list of contenders with the deficiency of speed in that last route race. Garnered a mediocre speed fig in the last race in a $7,500 Claiming race on July 26th. Doubtful to see an improved performance off of that fig.
