LIZZ A BEE - This thoroughbred coming off a strong try in the last month is a solid contender in my book. Stretching a horse out to a route after two sprints is a classic conditioning move. CAVE CREEK - This filly is in good condition, having run a nice race on Apr 30th, finishing second.
Vulnerable Contenders: #4 ANGEL OF VERDUN (ML=8/5), #5 CANDY'S PARADE (ML=5/2), #1 AMELIA MADELYN (ML=3/1),
ANGEL OF VERDUN - The speed figure last time around the track doesn't fit very well in this contest when I look at the class rating of today's race. Mark this racer as a likely underpriced contender. CANDY'S PARADE - This filly is always hitting the board, but just doesn't finish first. Difficult to wager on her on the win end. Finished fourth in her most recent effort with a common speed rating. When I look at today's class figure, it would take an improved performance to triumph after that in this field. AMELIA MADELYN - Really had to give me more than that in the last race. Never made much of an impact. Didn't hit the board on May 7th after the very long layoff. Be doubtful of this horse this time out. This mare earned a speed rating in her last race which probably isn't good enough in today's race.
