Game One was an easy Over with the Rangers potting 6 goals to the Lightning's 2 goals as the 8 combined goals made the East Finals look a little like the free-wheeling West Finals, but things settled down a little in Game Two on Friday night when the teams combined for 5 goals and an Under.

The Rangers have now held Under the total in 6 of their last 9 this postseason, while the Lightning is now on a postseason Under run of 6-1 in their last 7 games.

We have gone from 8 combined goals to 5 combined goals, I think it is time goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy walls up and keeps the Rangers pucks out of his net!

My free winner for Sunday is on the New York Rangers against the Tampa Bay Lightning, as I like the valuen in the number we're being offered with the Blueshirts.

The Rangers didn't just win Games 1 and 2, they dominated the two-time defending Stanley Cup champions.

They did it by playing aggressive hockey on the puck, using their forecheck to keep the puck in their zone, by rolling four lines effectively, by using speed through the neutral zone, by playing physical, and by getting stellar goaltending.

That doesn't change when the scenery changes. If anything, coach Gerard Gallant will have his troops ramping things up now that they're in Tampa.

Gallant improved to 8-1 against the Lightning since 2017 when facing the Lightning, including 5-0 this season. He knows how to coach against the Lightning, who in turn can't defend the style of play he puts on the ice.

With a chance to push the Bolts to the brink - the same way they shockingly did the same to Florida when nobody believed - I see the Rangers getting a big effort like they did in Game 7 at Raleigh, N.C.

This bunch is much less demanding than the last one she faced. Should finish in the money without any trouble. It is Zac vs. Zach today: D-backs’ Gallen (2.32 ERA) and Pirates’ Thompson (5.18 ERA) On paper, it would appear to be no contest. At 4-0, Gallen has been very effective this year, however his ERA has climbed from .60 in April to 3.06 in May. He doesn’t usually pitch for length.
April was a very cruel month for Thompson, with a 10.05 ERA and more ER than innings pitched, but he has been much, much better in May, with an ERA of 2.45. Like Gallen, his starts have been on the short side.
The Pirates, after sweeping the Dodgers, have split the first two games vs. Arizona. The Pirates’ bullpen has been very good over their last 10 days, and the lowly Pirates’ offense has been pretty good lately, hitting for average and power. The Diamondbacks have owned the Pirates in recent meetings, and are a sizable favorite for no real reason today. The Pirates’ bullpen has been much sharper, and neither pitcher will likely pitch deep into the game. Here is a decent dawg with a very good chance of having its day.

This is a play on the LOS ANGELES ANGELS for our Sunday Free Play. With the 7-2 loss on Saturday, the Angels have now lost 10 straight games to go from 27-17 to 27-27 and suddenly, they find themselves 7.5 games behind the Astros in the American League West. The Toronto Blue Jays are finally starting to hit like they are capable of now that we are two months into the season. The OVER is 10-1 in Blue Jays last 11 games overall with combined scores of 9 runs or more in 10 of those 11 games. The books have set this total way too low today against the Minnesota Twins, who also have a potent lineup.
Devin Smeltzer and Kevin Gausman are getting too much respect from the books today with this total set at just 8 after Game 1 was 9.5 and Game 2 was 9. Smeltzer has only made four starts and they have come against weak competition in the Tigers, Guardians and Royals (twice).
