Mike Lundin's Red Sox vs Angels MLB Free Pick June 9, 2022
The Los Angeles Angels are the coldest team in baseball, coming into this game off 14 straight losses. The Boston Red Sox are winners of seven in a row and I expect them to complete the sweep of this four-game series tonight.
Angels right-hander Shohei Ohtani (3-4, 3.99 ERA) gave up five runs in six innings against Toronto in his last start. The Angels have lost each of his last three starts.
Boston right-hander Nick Pivetta (5-4, 3.50 ERA) is 5-0 in his last five starts. He allowed more than one run in only one of those five outings.
In their current state, I'm not sure if the Angels should be favored against anyone, and certainly not the Red Sox.
FREE PICK ON BOSTON RED SOX.

      Dave's Thursday Free Play:
1* on Boston Red Sox +111
The Key: The Los Angeles Angels are 0-14 in their last 14 games overall. They have lost 4 straight games in heartbreaking fashion either by one run or in a walk off. They just feel snake bitten and cannot get out of their own way. They should not be favored over the Boston Red Sox tonight. The Red Sox have won 7 in a row to improve to 16-5 in their last 21 games overall. Boston starter Nick Pivetta is 5-0 with a 1.32 ERA in his last 6 starts while yielding only 6 earned runs in 41 innings. Take Boston.

Handicapped by The Turf Club Analysts

          Lone Star Park - Race #3 - Post: 7:31pm - Claiming - 5.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $14,500 Class Rating: 81

          Rating:

          #5 MR HANDS ON (ML=5/2)
          #4 KING JINGALING (ML=3/1)

MR HANDS ON - Have to like the way Broberg has raced this gelding back into shape off the layoff. Equine is well spotted in this sprint and I think he'll run well today. KING JINGALING - Torres's agent must relish anytime Villafranco gives them a mount; win pct together is terrific. This gelding has been claimed each of his last two starts. He figures to be tough in today's race.

          Vulnerable Contenders: #2 AUTOCRATIC (ML=7/2), #6 ROUSING SLAMMER (ML=4/1), #3 RUNNING JESSE (ML=5/1),

AUTOCRATIC - Just cannot play this horse. Didn't show me anything last time around the track or on May 6th. ROUSING SLAMMER - Tough to play this questionable contender this time around. Make him show you something in a sprint race before you bet on him in a race of 5 1/2 furlongs. RUNNING JESSE - 5/1 is not worth the risk for any horse in a sprint of 5 1/2 furlongs that hasn't finished in the money in a sprint contest lately.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Have to go with #5 MR HANDS ON on the win end if we get at least 3/2 odds
          EXACTA WAGERS: Box [4,5]
