Sunday's MLB Free Pick: Cardinals/Red Sox UNDER 9
I'll take my chances with the UNDER 9 in Sunday's interleague matchup between St Louis and Boston. I know these two teams have been swinging a hot bat of late, but there's just too much value with the UNDER at 9.
I like what I've seen out of both starters coming into this game. Cardinals will turn to Andre Pallante. The 23-year-old rookie has been sensational in 2022. He's got a 1.46 ERA over 37 innings of work. While most of that has come out of the bullpen, he's allowed just 1 ER over 9 1/3 innings in his two starts.
Nick Pivetta will get the ball for Boston. He's been one of their better starters this season, posting a 3.50 ERA and 1.085 WHIP in 13 starts. What I like, is Pivetta comes in with a 2.25 ERA and 0.850 WHIP over his last 3 outings. Give me the UNDER 9!

Yusei Kikuchi gets the nod for the home side and he's already faced the Yanks 3 times this year, not allowing more than 2 earned runs in any of his 3 starts. And in each of his last 2 starts, he's conceded 3 hits or less, 2 earned runs or less and struck out 7 batters in each as well. Luis Severino is 4-1 with a 2.80 ERA for the Yanks this year, but I think Kikuchi will match him inning for inning. And in a scenario like that, the value lies here with this revenge-minded hungry underdog; consider Toronto on Sunday afternoon!
