1st race – (4) Gas Me Up had some trouble while breaking from the gate in his debut and should appreciate the switch to turf. (1) Fast Fall is worth a look in his debut. (2) Kid Azteca was fourth last time and should be a contender. (7) Ah Jeez looks the part of a contender. Betting strategy: 4 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-4-7.
3rd race – (2) Air Force Red seeks a third straight win and should be tough to deny. (7) Give Me the Lute will be dangerous on his best try. (5) Whatmakessammyrun will be a threat in the final furlong. (6) Dubai Key is 2-for-2 in the United States but has yet to race on turf here. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-7. Exactas: 2=7 over 5-6 and 5-6 over 2-7.
5th race – (1) Dancing Crane gets back on turf and should prove best here. (4) Invincibella was given a break after rallying for second. Should be the main threat. (2) A New Peace was second or third in her last four starts and belongs in the exotics. (8) A Bowl of Cherries should like this distance. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-4-8.
7th race – (7) Avenue cuts back in distance and can handle this field. (10) Bee Catcher missed by a neck last time and should be the one to fear. (5) Flintmore broke his maiden last time and merits attention here. (1) Win the Day returns to turf and will welcome a return to turf. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-5-7-10. Doubles: 1-5-7-10 with 1-2-3-6.
8th race – (3) American Refugee makes his first start for Baffert and seems ready for a big try. (6) One More Bid seems to be rounding into top shape. (2) Encode disappointed in his debut but can rebound here. (1) Western Cape put in a sharp bullet work for this start. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-3-6.

BALLYMORE STAR (IRE) - You'll be making money left and right by turning your cash onto this jockey/conditioner combination. Expect better today as this filly gets Lasix for the 2nd time. Took a drop in class last out, and keeps in that lower level today. A good sign this animal is comfortable and ready to go. SHAD NATION - Really believe this beautiful animal is going to be right there at the finish. RHEAUME - I like to wager on this angle, a campaigner coming back off a sharp outing within the last thirty days. A repeat of that last effort on July 10th where she garnered a speed rating of 96 looks lofty enough to score in this race. GOOD MEASURE - This fine animal should be motoring down the stretch. MY SWEET STORY - Don't often see a beneficial return on investment like +346. This rider/conditioner twosome has done well together over the last year. This filly is in nice physical condition, having run a nice race on July 11th, finishing fourth. This horse has increased her Equibase speed figures in each of the last two races. That kind of progress is worth taking a look at.

WASP - Don't believe this racer will make an impact in today's event. That last fig was run-of-the-mill when compared with today's class figure. BABY MAN - Unlikely that this animal will finish better than she did last time when finishing fourth. SANTA GIULIA (FR) - Didn't look so good last time. Probably won't make an impact in today's event. The youngster will have a hard time beating the veterans at this time. This filly recorded a speed figure in her last event which likely isn't good enough in today's event.

My pick in this event is LOOKOUT TAYLOR. Has been running admirably and has among the most respectable speed in the race for today's distance. Reason to like this mare as she has in the saddle one of the best jocks using winning percentages over the last 30 days. The speed rating of 79 from her most recent race looks respectable in here. WILLING TO BURN - Should land on the board without a doubt. She has strong class ratings, averaging 79, and has to be given consideration in this event. COCOA CENTS - With a competitive 74 speed figure last time out, will clearly be a factor in this contest. Earnings per start at the distance/surface is a good angle. This filly has been training well, and the recent bullet work says she's primed for a top effort today. FILLY PELLI - Amador comes to ride again after getting to know the filly in the last contest. This filly is in nice condition. Ended up first on July 17th. This filly earned a nice speed fig of 66 in her last event. That speed rating should be strong enough to prove victorious today.
