Presque Isle Downs - Race #6 - Post: 3:45pm - Optional Claiming - 6.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $40,000 Class Rating: 88
Rating: Golden DollarGolden DollarGolden Dollar
#1 PROPOSITION (ML=9/2)
#3 AMERICAN GODDESS (ML=3/1)
#2 CLASSY HALO (ML=6/1)
PROPOSITION - The morning line odds on this mare are higher than those of the other entrant from the shedrow of conditioner Girten. Often the longer-priced part of a 'split' entry wins. This is a classic 'Lone Front-runner' scenario. If Allen gets him out of the gate cleanly it'll likely be smooth sailing. Everybody's got their favorite tracks, but if you ask this thoroughbred, I think her answer would be Presque Isle Downs. This mare should be at the peak of fitness, this far into her form cycle. AMERICAN GODDESS - The 85 last race speed figure looks mighty good on paper. CLASSY HALO - Popular handicapping theory - 3rd or 4th start after a layoff generally leads to a big effort. Today could be the day.
Vulnerable Contenders: #6 CARAMEL MARTINI (ML=5/2), #5 MA DE TAW (ML=9/2), #7 SPANISH DELIGHT (ML=8/1),
CARAMEL MARTINI - Finished third in her most recent race with a run-of-the-mill speed fig. When I look at today's Equibase class figure, it would take an improved performance to triumph after that in this bunch. MA DE TAW - Didn't look so hot last time out of the box. Probably won't make an impact today. SPANISH DELIGHT - This filly recorded a fig in her last clash which probably isn't good enough in today's event.
STRAIGHT WAGERS:
Play #1 PROPOSITION to win if you can get odds of 7/2 or more
