My pick here is JERICHO EXPRESS. Demonstrates the look of a profitable play, averaging a solid 69 Equibase Speed Figure which is one of the best in this group of horses. Always good to invest in a trainer with this kind of competitive win percentage - 17 percent - at this distance & surface. With Ramos uptop him, this gelding will almost certainly be able to break out early for this event. HOBNOBIN GENERAL - Will probably come out very strong - I have liked the way this gelding has moved sharply to the lead recently. Garnered a strong Equibase speed fig last time out. GRAND IN BAY - His 57 average has this colt with among the best Equibase Speed Figures for this event. With a sound jockey who has won at a very good 16 percent rate over the last 30 days. This has to be one of the top selections.

You'll be generating money right and left by turning your cash onto this jockey/trainer combination. I have to believe Rojas is making a good move here. This gelding can only benefit from the shorter trip. DON'T DARE ME - Have to give this gelding a shot. Ran a sharp contest last out within the last thirty days. This jock/trainer duo has been producing a high win pct, right around 36. I like the fact that this gelding's last speed rating, 81, is tops in this group. Last time around the track, ran the last quarter in less than 25 ticks. A good sign he can close well, and should be right there at the end in this race. CATHMOR - This rider and handler's horses have been generating a profitable ROI. This gelding is in fine condition, having run a strong race on September 14th, finishing second. The average class fig of 59 makes this one tough to beat. Loescher is very serious with this one, wheeling her back quickly. MOMMA CARRIE - The average Equibase class figure alone makes this horse a solid contender. Is worth considering and may be a wager - strong Equibase Speed Figures (63 average) at today's distance and surface lately. PACENZA - Has been running admirably lately and will probably be up near the front end early on. Exhibits the look of a lucrative play, averaging a solid 63 speed figure which is one of the top in this group of horses.

HUNTER JUMPER - This rider and handler have a high winning percent together. Ran in the last race against a higher rated class of horses at Mountaineer Park. The move down the class ladder should suit him well. I believe the addition of the 'shades' today will help this gelding focus his attention on racing.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 CONNECTED (ML=3/1), #3 JOE GONZALEZ (ML=4/1), #4 GALLIPOLIS (ML=4/1),

CONNECTED - Tough to keep chasing this kind of 'bridesmaid' horse. Hard to recommend this one out of the one slot. Hasn't run well out of there. JOE GONZALEZ - Didn't finish in the money on September 13th after the very long layoff. Be doubtful of this horse in today's event. Doesn't look inspiring to me after the lack of any type of closing ability on September 13th. GALLIPOLIS - Last performed on Sep 5th at Mountaineer Park, finishing fourth. Unlikely to get better off of that try in today's event. Recorded a somewhat easily forgotten speed figure last time around the track in a $4,000 Maiden Claiming race on September 5th. Not likely to see an improved performance off of that fig.

#4 Cherokee Legacy He might offer a modest second-choice price with these, but he's a decent fit while getting back in with locals off the Oaklawn form from earlier this year. Some time off might help him come back in a touch better form -- and that's all he'd need here.
#2 Vienna Prize He is probably the one to beat after landing second in a couple good recent efforts, but I worry that he tends to be a bit vulnerable late, and I'm not sure he has a ton of upside here.
#7 Eura Bunny Boy He debuts in what feels like a pretty top-heavy race. I'd expect one of the top pair to land top honors, but this guy wouldn't have to be a star to grab a piece of this at first asking.
Race Summary Cherokee Legacy might get a really good trip here while keeping close tabs on Vienna Prize, and I think something like 'Legacy's two-back run might do the trick with this bunch.

Remington Park - Race #6

#7 Just Peek'n Not super concerned with her dropping back in for a tag here after the team took her for $15,000 earlier this year. Think she lands a perfect trip tracking a couple potential stretchout speed players.
#10 Landslid The recent form isn't much to write home about, but this well-traveled filly gave it a shot at Del Mar and should appreciate getting in with a softer local crew. Think she benefits if a pace battle develops.
#8 Zinasdestinyvirago Barn is solid with these types locally, and I think there is a lot to like here, but she's likely to get tested in a couple ways here -- we're going to find out how her Louisiana Downs form stacks up with these, and I think she's likely to have some company early. She wouldn't be a shock, but I feel like she might get pretty dicey late.
Race Summary Just Peek'n has a solid finishing gear in a race that might reward that, as a couple sprint types could be in an early battle to set the table for a late rally.

Remington Park - Race #9

#6 Reverend AJ While you're not getting the prices they've hit at previously, I'm willing to take my chances with this jockey/trainer combo that is a perfect 3-for-3 this month with claiming turf sprinters with winners at $15, $21 and $55. Can easily see him getting another perfect first-over trip, and you can sign me up when a team is going well like this.
#10 Mora Merica His only career turf try produced a decent finishing effort with Texas-bred allowance company, and there are enough forward and pressing types in here to think maybe the pace is solid enough to let him come alive for a piece late.
#11 Hotfoot He'll have to hustle to find his forward position from a wide draw, but he has a little upside while getting back on the grass where he has done some good work in the past. Interesting at a mid-range price
Race Summary #5 Thatsafactjack is another who can be tough in here and is worth considering, but it's a strong lean to Reverend AJ in the finale for me. He should trip out, and he just beat similar in that last start while getting a trip that should mirror the one he gets tonight. Let's see if he can hold form from the last one.

Expect her to go well on the class drop today at a decent price. Play a 6-ALL exacta.

1st race – (7) Please Be Kind drops into a claimer and should prevail at today’s shorter distance. (5) Little Sister Sue debuts off a bullet work and merits attention. (3) Somebody Loves Me should be tougher in a claimer. (2) Rolleston adds blinkers and should be a contender. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 5-7. 4th race – (3) Oncoming Train was second at this level last time and can notch a victory in this field. (1) Atras drops in class and should handle the switch to dirt.
